1.0 out of 5 stars Hi maintainence lots of parts requried., April 26, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
one of the worst pieces of crap that I have ever bought. Yes it porcelain, and those parts are easy to clean. It will last about 2 weeks between cleanings and a month between filter replacements. Figure on a monthly pre-filter replacement, and a bi-monthly at most carbon filter change. You also need to dis-assemble to the pump to clean it out every two weeks or so. Garbage in short. much easier and cheaper to buy two stainless water bowls and rotate them through the dishwasher....

1.0 out of 5 stars Died after 1 week - Not sure why its so highly regarded......, February 5, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Updating my review to state that the machine died after one weeks use, front bearing started squeaking loudly with or without the auger attached.

My conclusion is that this may be a good machine for a person making a single glass, perhaps two a day of juice, and has alot of time on their hands. After it died, I bought the top of the line Breville machine, and can categorically state that there currently is no perfect juicer (I think if this machine had a thousand what motor, about twice the size feed tube and double the auger it would be close, but alas, it doesnt). the top of the line breville is a MUCH better machine, not without its faults (it sucks at greens, but I knew that, as its a centrifugal, and the breville puts more heat and air into the juice), other than that the Breville is a clear winner, the juice guys videos have two short commings, you have to use the juice cup that comes with the Breville, and greens need to be double fed. even double feeding greens the Breville is probably half the time of the this unit.

The title says it all, I wanted to get into juicing do a juice fast and get my family juiced. I did ALOT of research and this research said this would be the machine to get. It was to replace a 10 year old at least Hamilton Beach (HB)vertical Mill type juicer that was probably $20 in its day. Here is the comparison. This machine require more chopping than the HB, if you don't cut everything up to where it can get a hold of it, well its not happy and the food will just spin on top of the auger. Secondly, its list at 20 pounds, I said Ok, this is going to be a solid heavy duty machine. I have a Cabela meat grinder which I adore, and it weighs about that, so I figured solid right, well no the 20 pounds is the fully packed boxed weight, the juicer itself weighs around 6 pounds. After 15 minutes of squishing carrots its warm. If I keep it I will register it because there is no way its getting through its warranty period making a quart of juice a day. All in all very disappointing build quality. Its about the same speed as the HB as far as getting throughput. It does well on beets, firm apples, peppers and carrots (when it catches them). It does OK on cucumbers, pineapple and firm Pears, and chard fed leaf down. It absolutely despises running Kale, softer pears, mangoes.

It does have two advantages over the HB, its fairly quiet, although under load the food does make noise passing through it, and I can run it in the morning to juice before the family wakes up without disturbing them. Second it does have a MUCH better extraction than the HB, what this ejects is very dry. WIth the price of produce this will probably be enough to have it stick around.

The manual is absolutely terrible, as commented here, and elsewhere.

What the manufacturer needs to do.... Put at least 500 watts on the machine so it can run for the half hour the manual states without getting prohibitively hot. Further increase the chute size, so it can grab things.... Frankly I am surprised that it is reviewed as well as it is, given its price. If it were a $99 machine, I wouldnt complain, for the price it sells for the performance isnt there. I should have paid a little more and gotten the twin screw stainless machine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dirty but good value, October 29, 2014

First every review that states the slides are dirty is spot on. they are filthy. However, for the price, its hard to beat, and the slides appear well prepared.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst of the series by Far, July 3, 2014
Was looking forward to this book for months, and gotta say it was a huge letdown. This is one of those books that you feel the writer blew out to fulfill a contract. Very disappointed. The richness of the story line present in the earlier books in the series is sadly lacking.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great Router if you are willing to reboot it daily, May 2, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The router is blindlingly fast with great connectivity. The issue is that it needs a daily reboot to maintain this speed and connectivity. There are about 10 devices in our home, Netflix, bit torrents, streaming music. This router unfortunately needs a daily reboot, or performance become unreliable. A shame.

Just got it, fed it a Starbucks Sumatra Kcup, great coffee easy clean. Perfect for the road, and as I am the only coffee drinker in a tea house hold eliminates a pot on the counter. Recommend. If there are any issues in the future I will revise my review

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of Junk, February 16, 2014
handle is not locked into the feeder so in a strong wind the feeder tilted enough to send it crashing to the ground. Put it back to gether and got a little more time out of it. Color faded badly after a year, and the suet holders are easy for squirrels to unlatch, and take the cake. They like it at least. It finally again, fell to its death, I thought I rigged it so it couldnt happen in a wind but I was wrong. BIrds will be unfed in a bad winter while a new one comes.

3.0 out of 5 stars Well OK, February 13, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this light on the strength of the video review above. They must have changed the design since the review. This light is bright but its really floody, not the spot I was hoping for. Has nice features, so I will keep it but disapointed on how wide the beam is.
