5.0 out of 5 stars Best single book on global warming now available, November 7, 2011

I highly recommend this book. If you can read only one book on global warming, this should be it. McKibben writes well, and easily synthesizes a lot of material, including scientific findings, from many different sources. The first half of the book reviews the evidences of global warming, and the second half focuses on what we can do to mitigate its effects and move to renewable energy and to a sustainability (rather than growth) model for our economy. He uses many examples from his own life and experiences, esp. in Vermont, and manages to be optimistic, even though our EAARTH and our species are in trouble. After I read this book, and others in the genre, I decided that this is the NUMBER ONE ISSUE of our time.
