5.0 out of 5 stars They are very comfortable and they look nice, May 25, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased these for my wife as a Mother's Day gift and she loves them! They are very comfortable and they look nice. She doesn't like that there is some noise which leaks in around the headphones, but the levels are acceptable given the quality of the sound produced by them. They certainly seem more durable, since there are no plastic components, but she wishes that the controller and microphone worked for Android as well as Apple cell phones/products as well. Would definitely recommend their purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another Fun Discworld Read., April 10, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Almost a retrospective of our most loved characters, the story is told in small groupings of smaller stories, almost vignettes.

Perhaps not my favorite book of his, but a definitely enjoyable page turner and I will recommend it as a preferred Discword read.

5.0 out of 5 stars My first quality pocket knife, November 30, 2012

This review is from: Kershaw Leek Knife (Sports)
I've had inexpensive pocket knives in the past, but never really owned a quality one. The discounted price attracted me to this model and I've not been disappointed with it as yet. Quick open using either hand is excellent and the "lock" switch is easy to move with one hand when I've secured it previously. I would highly recommend this knife (and have done so when people ask me about it) to anyone who is looking for a quality tool to carry with them.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent On-The-Go Protection, January 19, 2007
I purchased this product as an additional Christmas Present, as I thought that the simple "sleeve case" which came with the iPod really wouldn't offer that much protection.

We've found that this case offers solid protection and allows easy access to the screen, selection buttons as well as the scroll wheel. There's also easy access for plugging in the USB 2.0 cable while the iPod is still in the case.

The only problem we've found so far is that you can not use the case itself in conjunction with any of the Docking Stations we have at the house. You have to remove the iPod from the case to place it in a dock.

This being the case, we would strongly recommend this product as an excellent choice for taking your iPod on the go. One of the main points of having an iPod is, of course, being able to take it with you at all times. However, if you mainly use your iPod around the home with docking stations and the like, you might prefer a different solution to protect your iPod.

Weber 6750001 Genesis Gold C Propane Grill (Discontinued by Manufacturer)

5.0 out of 5 stars Weber = Quality, July 3, 2005
My wife and I got our "Weber" Genesis Gold C almost a year ago and it's worked for us in the heat and in the cold without any problems at all. I originally selected this model for our Wedding Registry, not expecting to get it, and was thrilled when it arrived on our back doorstep...because the box was too big to get through the front door! *grin*

Some things we really love about it:

1. Construction

We were able to assemble it in under 30 minutes and get it running once I got the tank filled with propane not long after. The solid construction and stainless steel show no signs of rust or discoloration after a full year of weekly use.

2. Grillspace

The huge grillspace is more than accomodating when it comes time to get working with the heat. Three long burners allow for easy use for multiple heats and meat placement, as well as using the front two burners for meat while setting the third for bun grilling or potato cooking/heating or corn cooking or...well, you get the idea. The side burner is also useful if you're boiling sides or keeping your BBQ sauce warm or boiling brots in beer before you transfer them to the grill heat.

3. Workspace

There is a great deal of workspace and if you suddenly decide you need more so you don't contaminate your cooked meat with uncooked meat, there are two "fold-out" shelves which pull out in seconds and are more than sturdy for your 10lb leg of lamb to rest on.

4. Useful Display Features

The thermometer is very easy to read and "up front" on the cover so you know if you have the burners up high. The gravity-spring gas gauge is harder to see, but is very easy to read once you squat down to check on the fuel level in your tank.

5. Cleaning

Stainless steel design and parts make cleaning a snap. The usual grill-brush cleaning works fine but you can also remove the grill grates and "flavor bars" (dripping catchers) and scrub them in the sink and drop them right back in with no problems at all.

6. Ignition

In the year we've had the unit, it has always lit on the first press of the ignition lighter. The back two burners light from the first burner when it's lit, but nothing could be easier and it's great not to have to use long-stemmed matches or lighters anymore.

Bottom Line:

1. If you can afford it, buy it and you'll have a grill for life!

2. If you really like your friend, buy it for them and you'll have a friend for life who will invite you over for cookouts!

3. If you can't afford it, put it on your Wish List or Wedding Registry and maybe you'll have it delivered to your rear doorstep!

5.0 out of 5 stars The last BBQ Tool Set you'll ever need..., July 16, 2004
While a little intimidating when you first take it out of the box, once you get it unwrapped and get the secure, sturdy aluminum case snapped open you'll begin to admire both the simplicity and design of the Set.
I got mine as a wedding present, and I've already gotten a lot of quality use out of it. Most of the tools are long handled to give you good clearance from the heat, and the spatula is not only wide enough for the Big Burgers but it also has a sharpened edge to allow you to check "doneness" without having to reach for another tool.
The fork, knife, tongs, and basting brush are also well designed for their purposes and the Four "kebob" skewers are made out of solid, polished metal so the food slides right off. The eight corn picks are a nice touch, as are the salt and pepper set (they arrive empty, so fill them with the spice/rub of your choice), and for after-grill cleanup there's a nice and solid grill brush with spare head.
Everything fits securely in its own place either with elastic straps or with velcro attachments, so nothing clatters around when you move it from your kitchen, to your deck, to your tailgate party, to your...well, you get the idea. *grin*
