3.0 out of 5 stars Too many odd pieces, January 3, 2011

This review is from: Cool Robots (Hardcover)
We had high hopes for this book. We have 1000s of legos and needed a resource for putting them together in new ways. Sadly, this book uses so many odd pieces that it you spend lots of time looking through your box of legos to find a single piece to make the object in the book. When you find you do not have it, you have to abandon the plan and turn the page. Perhaps the book should be accompanied with a set of odd pieces that make every project work!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great old book!, November 10, 2010

I love this book. It has the kind of activities that I love to do. It uses simple everyday items to make fabulous things! It seems like everything comes in "kits" these days and nothing really shows how creative kids can be. This book was exactly what I was hoping it would be!

5.0 out of 5 stars COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN, October 4, 2009

Ms. Williams recollections of her childhood and descriptions of growing up in the 80s and 90s in the deep South hit close to home. She manages to give the reader a front row seat in the riveting drama of her turbulent life and how she manages to overcome each obstacle she meets without animosity. How rare to find a soul so able to look back at such suffering and remember it only as joy. It makes me want to personally thank her grandmother, her midwife, and all the other beautiful people who crossed her path along the way. Ms. Williams' stories are great!
