5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling, Dark, Honest, Raw and way to Real, March 22, 2010
This is One of those Must see Rock Documentary
That is extremely Complex and Dark
Even if you don't know much about the Cult all girl Band known as "The Runaways" (Members including Joan Jett & Lita Ford)
The film is somewhat like a VH-1's Behind the Music But, it's Raw and uncensored
It's a very surreal Story (That has recently become a Indie Film with plenty of Buzz behind it) The film takes you behind the Curtain
@ Times it can be very hard to watch these young girls were Exposed/exploited all in the name of making money
There is no Happy Ending But, the film can be a Great lesson
What will you learn?? it depends on your chemical makeup

Any die hard Music Fan should see this Film 9.5/10

4.0 out of 5 stars A Flawless HD Transfer Missing All the Great Extras though, March 15, 2010
This review is from: The Punisher [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
Call me Crazy But, I think all 3 Punisher Films are Very Good
They are Unique Violent Pieces of Films (That are a Throw-back to The vigilante Films of the 70's!)
That doesn't get nearly enough attention Maybe because the Subject Matter is to Dark for kids!
Or maybe because unlike The Dark Knight, Frank Castle kills all The guilty and lives up to his name!
It's hard to gain a Solid Audience for a Rated R Comic Book Movie
Each Punisher Film has been Different but, Holds the Main Concept of Who Frank Castle Really is.

This being the Second Re-Launch of The "Thomas Jane" Punisher (2004)
As a Action Film it's solid with a Great Story/Script That Breaks down
The Back Story of Frank Castle
On paper Thomas Jane sounds like a Poor choice
But, he Brings allot to Both the Film and The Character
The Film is very much like a spaghetti western
John Travolta makes one of the Best/Under Rated comic book villains in the last 20yrs.
Mostly 'Because he plays it so Real and Straight
Plus there was a Strange Set up Travolta becoming Jigsaw to Bad the Sequel was scraped and Changed up to Punisher: War Zone (With yet another Under-Rated Actor becoming Frank Castle)

The Fight Scene between Thomas Jane and Kevin Nash looks so Physical and spontaneous to this day it still makes me Smile

The Blu Ray Transfer is Amazing the Negative is the Lack of all the Great extras from the Standard DVD
The Audio is Stunning with (2 Tracks) Dolby Digital Surround EX & DTS-ES 6.1

Maybe Lionsgate will do a Second BR Version Fully Loaded with Both Special Edition Extras!?!?!

A Must have Action Flick for the HD Format 9.5/10

5.0 out of 5 stars Who knew MGM Actaully Can do a Great HD Trasfer, March 15, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
At This moment and time MGM Studios has put out some of The WORST HD transfers on Blu Ray

MGM seemed to have actually gave a damn about putting out a HQ blu ray Transfer

The Picture Quality: is extremely good Considering it was a cheap movie (shot on 16mm.)
It Lives up to the HD Format

The Audio is Perfect: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 -Loss less (Blows away all the previous audio from the DVD's and Laserdisc)

The Extras: Are bitter sweet The "Infamous" Criterion commentary is not included Which Sucks
But, you do get
**The In-character Commentary Track** (Which is One of the Best Audio Commentary Tracks EVER)
**Catching Up with Marty DiBergi**

**Rare Outtakes** (SD, one hour and seven minutes) There are 14 outtakes in total, many of which are extensions of pre-existing scenes. There has been a four-hour cut of 'This is Spinal Tap' that regularly makes the rounds, and a lot of that version must have included these scenes. If you're a fan of the film, (Allot of these Scenes are in the Workprint)
**Vintage Tap Materials**
**Music Videos**
**Promotional Materials & Commercials**

The Second Disc/bonus DVD is in standard definition. (What's Up with that?!?!?!)

If this BR had the Criterion commentary I'd call it the Ultimate This Is Spinal Tap Collection
But, it falls short of Greatness

Regardless this is A Must have BR for any Collector/ Movie Fan Boy!
It's Spinal Tap 9.6/10

5.0 out of 5 stars A Essential Movie Soundtrack, March 4, 2010
Tina Turner is One of the Best Female Vocalist ever!
But, seems to get over looked way to often
This "Early" Greatest Hits Collection
From the Biopic What's Love Got To Do with it
Is Flawless
Tina can do any music genre and make it all her own
You can't really go wrong with this Album
With a Doubt one of the Best Soundtracks ever
Is a Must own and should be in any Die Hard Music Fans Collection 10/10

4.0 out of 5 stars It's A Panasonic You can't go Wrong!, March 2, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is my Second Panasonic BR Player
It's Close to a Perfect Multimedia Player
(2 Things it's missing HD-DVD, & Laserdsic)
To Bad it doesn't do Both HD Formats That would be great!

I have mixed Feelings Regarding the look of the Player
It's somewhat looks like a Updated Laserdisc Player
But, it's made extremely Good
I've been buying Panasonic Products for the last 15yrs
It's super easy to hook-up (All you need is HDMI Cable and a Digital Optical Cable (Audio)
Those 2 Cables will be the best bet to get the Most out of the Player

One major complaint...... The Player is sold without the HDMI Cable
Panasonic isn't the only Major company Guilty of this (They all do it)
That needs to be fixed it's not fair to Consumers to sell Products without a major part u need
Another Small complaint No Sleep Mode
Besides those 2 Problems I'm very happy with the player so far!

The upconverting of VHS Tapes is better then i thought
so far the Player has been good with N/P
It's a Great Price for a BR/VHS Combo Player
If u still have quit a few VHS Tapes this is a Must have
Plus you get a HD Player that does allot for the money

5.0 out of 5 stars The Rise of Marvelous 3, March 2, 2010
This review is from: Hey! Album (Audio CD)
HEY! ALBUM by Marvelous3 might just be one of the Best
Major Label Debut Albums in the last 20yrs.
At the same time it's one of the most unknown?!?!?!

I've wanted to write a Review on this CD for so long
I know i won't be able to give it the Justice it deserves

M3 is Made up of:
Jayce Fincher -bass
Doug Mitchell - drums
Butch Walker -lead vocals, guitar
The 3 created music that truly lives up to there name
Even though they put out only 3 Albums They are in the same league as RUSH
This Album is Close to Flawless
From top to bottom every track is solid and just plain great Each song/track seems to get better and by the time you get to the Final Track you'll be both blown away and sad that the Ride is over

It's a Great Late 90's Buried Treasure

1. "You're so Yesterday"
2. "Freak of the week" was a Solid Single that was played on most Alt. Music/Rock Stations without a Doubt the Single that made allot of Fans take notice of the Band
3. "Until you see" Great Harmonize **Must Hear**
4. "Write it on your hand" **Must Hear**
5. "Let me go" (Great Break-up song backed-up by Butch's Strong Emotional Voice **Must Hear**
6. "Every Monday" **Must Hear**
7. "Indie Queen" (Amazing Song with great Lyrics and rock vocal power) **Must Hear**
8. "27" (Great Rock Lyrics the sound) **Must Hear**
9. "Mrs Jackson" **Must Hear**
10. "Over Your Head" **Must Hear**
11. "Vampires in Love" (Without a doubt a True Ballad that is stunning! Great harmonize, and a Perfect mix of Drums, Bass and Guitar
12. "Lemonade" **Must Hear**

In my CD collection it's easily in my top 50
A Must Hear/Own CD that any Rock fan should Discover 10/10

4.0 out of 5 stars One of MGM's Better HD Transfers, February 19, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
to Live and Die in LA was a long time coming on BR
Despite all the push backs on the release date
It's here and doesn't Live up to the HQ in deserves
The Transfer looks good sometimes really good
But, it doesn't deliver which sucks
When WB can take Casablanca put it in HD (Both HD DVD & BR) and make a True Masterpiece for the Next Gen. Film Format!
The Audio on the other hand is Awesome DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio
Who would have guessed Wang Chung would ever be in DTS!
The Extras Suck! (But it's a 2Disc Set you do get the Special Edition DVD with the BR) Not sure why they just didn't carry all the extras over to the BR

The Film itself might just be One of the most underrated/under appreciated Films of the 1980's
Director William Friedkin made a Film that was must I say it "Ahead of It's Time" in so many ways!
From the look of the film, to the Story itself
It's NOT the typical 1980's Action Flick
There is No Good Guys or Bad Guys, Everything is set in a "Real world"
It get's very Dark
The Cast is Perfect (Both William Peterson and Willem Defoe pull no Punches in there Roles of Kane vs Able) by the Conclusion you'll have allot of mixed feelings on who the Bad Guy truly is
It's by Far Not the typical Hollywood Action Film
Even the soundtrack is Not the norm Wang Chung composed the soundtrack and even though at times it sounds very 80's it also works very good!
It blows my mind the MPAA didn't Rate it a NC-17
It's one of the BEST Films of the 1980's IMO
It sucks it didn't get nearly enough Respect with a Fully Loaded HQ Transfer
But, it will work for now...............

MGM May just be the worst Major Studio to put out HD content in the form of disc
The Movie 9.8/10
The BR Transfer 8.5/10
The Audio 9.5/10
Not the worst BR MGM has put out. It's A Shame they didn't put more time and love into the Transfer!

5.0 out of 5 stars A New Cut in Beautiful HD!, February 18, 2010
Keep in Mind If you enjoyed the Super Loaded DVD of Cabin Fever with the 5 Audio Commentaries
Hold on to the Standard DVD

This BR is a Completely Different version
Unrated Director's Cut with A New Audio Commentary (Which is Cool for the Director and Cast to do A New One for BR Fans)
Great job more Studios should do this for the HD Format

Lionsgate did A Great HD Transfer
The Audio rocks DTS-HD 7.1

The Film itself is One of the Better Indie Horror Films in the last 10yrs.
It's a Strange Combination of The Crazies, Night of the Living Dead, The Blob, The Stuff, The Thing, and Evil Dead!
With plenty of WTF Moments, Oddball Charters and Plenty of Blood, Gore and Nudity
The Shaving in the Bathtub scene alone is a Must See But, it's so hard to watch!
For those who never seen it I highly Recommend viewing it Once
It's very Unique

A Must own BR for any Horror Fan! 9/10

5.0 out of 5 stars RED vs BLUE, February 15, 2010
This review is from: Casablanca [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
No Matter what HD Player you own..........
HD DVD or Blu Ray Player
You will get A ***** HD Transfer
Fully Loaded with allot of Great extras
The only major Difference between the 2 HD Disc would be the cover Art
The HD DVD has the cover from the 2nd Print 2disc Special Edition dvd
The BR Cover is much different with one of the many Famous Stills from the film!

This HD Disc (No Matter HD or BR)
Is A must have to add to any Collection
A Stunning HD Transfer
If u have a HD Player you owe it to yourself to own this Classic Gem 10/10

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Collection, February 13, 2010
There are two non-grunge Bands from the Mid 90's That Created a Sound all there own.
Still to this day there music Holds so much Good, Bad, and indifferent memories that will last a Life time for all us music fans!
Those two bands I'm speaking of are COUNTING CROWS and GIN BLOSSOMS

This DVD Collection is a must own for any Rock fan that grew up in the Mid 90's
And discovered There major Label Debut New Miserable experience and Beyond
You get A Live Concert Set from Chicago April 22, 1993
A Bit before they Broke and became a house hold name
The Concert is extremely good (with a number of songs that would Later Appear on New Miserable)
Along with the Full Concert you get every Music Promo Video they made
Including 3 dif. Versions of "Hey Jealousy"
2 Version of "Until I Fall Away"
One minus is The International Version of "Til I Hear It From You" has all the scenes from Empire Records cut out (Which Sucks I Like the Original Video much more)
"As Long As It Matters" is such a Great tune (I never heard it 'Til I watched the Music Video)
The Extras and very cool
Soundcheck from the windy city and Audio Commentary by original vocalist turned guitarist Jesse Valenzuela (Which is a interesting commentary More Artist need to do stuff like this on dvd's ect.)
Universal Music did a Great Job on this dvd
One major draw back IMO is the Audio!
You Get a 2.0 Dolby Digital Track which is ok But, when it comes to any Music Disc (DVD, Audio DVD, HD-DVD, Blu Ray)you should get a 5.1 Dolby Digital or Need I say DTS 5.1 Audio Track
Over All the DVD is a Great time capsule for the Soundtrack of Life!
It's never to Late to look back 9.2/10
