4.0 out of 5 stars small, light, works great, November 3, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Although it takes a little getting used to, this little silicone keyboard is portable in the extreme. It paired with my iPhone 4 in just a few seconds with no software to install. If you have apps like QuickOffice on your device, you can type and navigate with this keyboard much easier than with the built-in keyboard, or with some hard-to-use dinky one. The keyboard is only slightly larger than an Apple bluetooth keyboard, although the keys are a little bit smaller and closer together. But it is much cheaper and easier to carry around, not to mention waterproof. The little door that covers the power switch and usb charging port came off right away, but it's kinda in the way anyway, so I don't miss it. You need a solid surface to use this- not practical for your lap. A small stand for your phone/ipad would keep your device at at a good viewing angle.
How easy is it to setup and activate?: 1. charge it up for a few minutes (plug in included mini-usb cable to computer and keyboard). 2. turn on bluetooth in iPhone/iPad settings. 3. turn on little switch on the top of the keyboard. Since your iPhone/iPad is now discoverable, it will "see" it. 4. Push the "connect" spot on the keyboard. Light will flash. 5. tap the "bluetooth keyboard" words in the open iPhone/iPad setting. A message to type a 4 digit number on they keyboard will appear. 6. Type that number and "enter" on the keyboard. The iPhone/iPad will now say "connected." And it is. Easy, and simpler than it sounds ;) Mac users- the "windows" key works the same as the "command" key. Bottom line- This keyboard, while not as good as the Apple bluetooth keyboard by any means, is a user-friendly, light, portable, cheaper alternative.

4.0 out of 5 stars Coulda fooled me!, November 3, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These cameras really look like the real thing. Comes complete with 4 stickers and a sign in English and Spanish. Has no blinking light, but the newer cameras don't have those anyway, and these look new. Perps are not usually very good at telling these from the real thing, and the theory is that they will see them and go on to the next house (A pro could tell, and could get in no matter what you do). The cameras install easily with 3 provided, plated screws and plastic plaster sleeves if used indoors in sheet rock. Camera can be set at any angle. They look and feel real. I'm sure that there are other, more expensive ones that may be better, but these should do their intended purpose: Potential thief sees sign, looks up, sees a camera, leaves.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works great with my Macs, May 13, 2009
I bought this all-in-one 2 days ago at Staples for a great price. I installed it near my old flatscreen iMac G4 running OSX.4 Tiger. The installation was cake- unpack carefully, plug it in, connect the phone line, put in the ink, connect the included (!) USB cable, install the installation CD, and go through the prompts. I have an old Linksys wireless router, and the printer configured itself for wireless perfectly the first time- no USB cable needed after installation. The software interfaces perfectly with the Mac, whether via the Mac or the 6500's control panel. The duplexing is great (once you figure out to pull out the tray- the 1 counterintuitive aspect of this printer). One gripe I have with HP (and others) is that they only give you "starter" ink cartridges. I mean, the plastic is the same- the difference is a few drops of more ink. Other than that, the small footprint and profile of this printer combined with excellent software and controls makes this a fine printer/fax/scanner/color copier for my small business, a complement to my HP laser printer. My other Macs also use this printer via Apple's printer sharing option. One minor negative- It's not a "photo printer" although it does an excellent job printing, scanning and copying photos. It will take SD cards, put there is no preview screen or other similar goodies. So, just print from iPhoto- better anyway. The cost per color page is about 9 cents, about as low as any color printer, including laser. I am very pleased with this purchase. HP has a hit here.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent shades, April 27, 2009
These sunglasses are the best I've ever owned, and certainly not the most expensive. Excellent optics- no eyestrain. Glare is eliminated. Very comfortable, even all day. Great fit. Good for cycling. Overall about the best you could hope for for a pair of sunglasses. Despite my abuse, they haven't scratched in nearly a year of daily use. I've ordered a second pair in a different color in case I ever lose mine.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best performance of this opera, April 10, 2007
This review is from: Monteverdi: L'Orfeo (Audio CD)
I own 3 other audio CD versions and 5 DVD versions of this great, great opera, and can tell you that this CD set is the best of the best. The ornamentation and timing are superb. A nice aside about this recording is that when you import it into iTunes to put onto your iPod (or listen via your computer) the 80 tracks come out sequentially numbered, despite the fact that there are 2 CDs. Having that many tracks (and they are appropriately labeled) makes it easy to jump to your favorite spots.

The tempi and inventive percussion use on this recording are other reasons to love it, besides the world-class singing, especially of Bostridge, Dessay, and the magnificent Alice Coote.

5.0 out of 5 stars Still the best of the lot, April 4, 2007
This review is from: Monteverdi - L'Orfeo (DVD)
The long-awaiting DVD of this production is out, and it is fabulous. As one could expect from DGG, the sound and visuals are first-rate. If you have to choose only one recording of this great opera, this is the one to get (I have them all, I think). The costumes are sets are terrific and authentic- probably better than authentic. One gets the feeling that one is there, along with the Duke and Duchess. Amazing playing, especially considering how early in the "early music revival" period this was made.

The box set with the other two extant Monteverdi operas is a good deal, as well, as they are also excellent. The work is timeless, fun, and profound. See this, in this version, and you'll be a fan for life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most Perfect Brass Quintet CD to date, November 16, 1998
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Street Song (Audio CD)
The ensemble, sound, style and intonation of this fine group belie the fact that they live in other cities. Their harmonics stack up marvelously in the open 5th to end the first section of the MTT piece, one of an impressively strong set of selections. Having not been familiar with this group, I confess to having low expectations- that is until I heard the first cut, a tour-de-force by the quintet's first trumpeter, a fine composer. It now tops my large collection of brass music as perhaps the finest example of the genre put on disc to date. Having just completed a brass CD, I know how difficult the process is. These guys are truly terrific. -Michael Moore, Tuba and Artistic Dir., Atlanta Symphony Brass Quintet President, Atlanta Brass Society, Inc.
