My earlier review (below) was incorrect. The bottom twist for battery access isn't obvious -- but it's there -- and the light works fine.

Wouldn't work right away. Battery compartment was impossible to access. A big fail. Had to buy another light on short notice to replace.

This review is from: Wakin On A Pretty Daze (Audio CD)
After listening to a second full play, I really like the ethereal and wistful sound of the whole album. It struck me how much this reminds me of Lloyd Cole's "Don't Get Weird on Me Babe" (this is high praise from me) with an updated production. More so than Neil Young. Here and there I grab a little Beck or Moby. One of my favorite album purchases in a while. Thanks to Sirius for playing yesterday and motivating me to purchase here. I had seen the author's name in concert listings before, and assumed his sound was some kind of post-punk with a clever appropriation of Kurt Weill's name. And, in fact, there is a nice aggregate of styles in this artist and album -- just not what was presumed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Classic, but evolved, Ritchie movie, April 27, 2010
One of my favorite traits of Guy Ritchie films is that he doesn't take your intelligence for granted. You must pay attention to keep pace not only with the quickly progressing and often non-linear plot - but also to absorb new and vivid characters as they come online. Yes, some thick accents might force a quick rewind, but that's part of the charm and authenticity of this film.

I'm especially impressed by the performances of Toby Kebbell (Johnny Quid) and Mark Strong (Archy). It's hard to believe they outshine the fine performances of Tom Wilkinson, Gerard Butler and Idris Elba, but they do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Vivid Telling of Brutal Battles, July 25, 2007
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Eugene Sledge takes us into the carnage and fear at Peleliu and Okinawa. His first-person account offers as close an idea of the horror of these places as anything I've read. Although he gives due credit to the "Old Breed" Marines that made up the personality of the units, he also cooly recounts the everyday, mostly overlooked, bravery of the younger NCOs, junior officers and replacements. It rates with the best small unit autobiographies of World War II.
