An absolutely magical read for the pint sized folks out there and the not so pint sized folk! From socks finding their way to The City of Lost things to a child that wants to marry King Kong and a mother who cartwheels out of the room, these poems will stir the imagination and make you smile. The warm drawings of Ben Moss helps to add to the enchantment of the book.

A perfect addition to the coffee table, library, or your child's night stand, it is sure to become a favorite.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Bad! :), November 22, 2013
I received this book free from NetGalley for a honest review.

The beginning of the book lagged a bit for me. It seemed as though the author was trying to find herself and perhaps her certain writing style. For the first half of the novella there was sentences that didn't flow very well, as well as parts being overly descriptive or not descriptive at all. With the understanding that this was a new writer, I trudged on and I was very happy I did. The author was able to get into her story and it showed. It reminded me of having nerves but once she started she was able to get into her groove.

The story itself was interesting. I didn't particularly care for Meghan being son down on herself all the time, but the character of Cade made up for it. I enjoyed Meghan's circle of friends and the fact that she had real life issues that a young reader in High School could identify with. Bullying being one of them.

In the end, finding out what Meghan was didn't really spoil you and a lot was left over for more storyline if there is a continuation in the series. Would I read the next in the series? Absolutely. The story was intriguing enough to hook me. Most readers can overlook a author's first time jitters if the story is good enough. This one definitely was. Well done Ms. Johnson!

Just got my Obsidian today so let me first say THANK YOU for the extremely fast shipping! Ordered on Friday, received on Monday. :) Everything was perfect.

On to the product..

I used Obsidian for the first time today. Mind you I have been tanning for 2 weeks and already have a really good base tan. I have already used Black 20x and Luminary samples(both by Designer Skin). The results that I got today however surpassed anything I could have hoped for. The smell is amazing and after just once, I could tell a big difference. My color has evened out and darkened up. I didn't feel the :heat up: like theirs have talked about and it didn't give me any tingle sensation.

Definitely would buy from this seller and again and would definitely buy Obsidian again!!

3.0 out of 5 stars 1. OK 2. Passable 3. Down right was awful!, June 14, 2005
This review is from: Immortal Bad Boys (Paperback)
The first story, "Night Ecstasy" by Rebecca York, was an Ok read. The viagra part was alot to swallow, no pun intended. The story would have been great if it had been a little longer with a little more time for the couple to fall in love. But all in all it was definitly the best story.

The second story, "Velvet Night" by Rosemary Laurey, was passable. Again it would have been alot better read if there was a more in depth plot, with the couple falling in love a little more slowly. It would have been even better if she would have been shot and him turned her. However, I do get that these are short stories, but the writer could have expanded it more.

The third story, "Midnight Court" by Linda Thomas Sundstrom, makes me wonder how this author was ever chosen for this type of book. It was down right awful! The story line is very tough to follow. Yes I did eventually get certain points, but there was no romance, no nothing. At least in the first stories there was romance. The story made no sense.

I would have given the book a four had it not been for the last story ruining the whole thing. Wait until you find this book at a used book store before you spend full price.

5.0 out of 5 stars OMG This Book is awesome!, June 8, 2005
Ok I have been a devoted Devine Reader, but all I have to say is watch out Ms. Devine, Ms. Schone is on the prowl. This book has it all, wonderfully vivid sex, unrequited love, dysfuctional families, and in the end a truly romantic love story. I love erotica and romance, although not many people can do both. Ms. Schone blended the 2 seemlessly in this book. I ran the gambit of emotions with this book, I was happy, sad, and angry for the lovers. In the end love wins out, and don't all of us romantic readers really want that in the end?

5.0 out of 5 stars One of her best!, June 8, 2005
This review is from: Seductive (Paperback)
Unrequited love, deception, explicit sex, and in the end true love. She has a winner on her hands. I am a die hard Devine fan, even though some of her books are better then others. Her one constant is the wonderful sex! But being a true romantic reader, I like my erotic sex with a side dish of a happy ending. This one totally delivered. Not all of Ms. Devine's books have the romatic endings some of us crave; it's not necessary to always have those as long as it is eluded to. But this book rocks!

3.0 out of 5 stars Bliss River is Hard to Swallow, June 8, 2005
This review is from: Bliss River (Paperback)
Ok so being a devoted Devine fan I snatch up all her books, and will continue to whether in the end they are wonderful or not so. This book is not one of her better reads. It has wonderfully erotic sex but the plot is not so great. Come on, the Victorian era actually having a hedonistic cult? It would be more believable in this day in age. However it is fiction so I went with it, and even though the idea was absurd, Ms. Devine was still able to hold my attention. The idea of kissing cousins wasn't a wonderful idea either.

5.0 out of 5 stars No Desire? Please!!!, June 8, 2005
I am a major Devine fan although that doesn't mean that some of her books are better then others. I liked this one in particular because it actually ended with the characters in love. A few of her books are all sex and no romance. This one had romance, and whooo-weee the sex sceens were HOT! I am starting to reads some of Devine's earlier books, when I can find them, and this one was way better the Tempted by Fire. At least it has a romantic ending. The sexual tension in this book was palpable, and the journey made the book even better. It has good against evil, it has love, the search for diamonds. Who could want more?

2.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy if you want Romance!, June 8, 2005
I love Thea Devine's erotic romances. And yes although all her work is labled as romance, sometimes the romance doesn't entirley come in her books until the last 2 pages. Up until this book, the erotically charged romances she has created was absolutley wonderful. However, this book was just full of erotica with no wonderful ending in site. No, "I love you's", and no other sweet mushy endings us romance readers often enjoy. I love my books with lots of erotically charged sex and then the wonderful endings, this book only has the sex. It's still a Devine book, so if you are truly a fan , don't cull it. Just understand going in that the Romance is sketchy at best.

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW Can I give 10 stars please?, June 2, 2005
This review is from: Annie's Hero (Paperback)
Ok whats to say except I have been a major Maggie Shayne fan for awhile. I have read all her newer books, however I'm just now getting down to buying her early releases.

Annie's Hero was amazing. I went from crying to smiling to bursting with joy within just a few chapters. Talk about a love story. We all want to believe in life after death or a loved one not really being gone, but with the way Maggie wrote this book, it left you no doubt that true love can conquer even death.

Richard/Ren is absolutley a White Knight and what woman wouldn't want to model her husband after him? And although Annie is pregnant through the entire book, it doesn't detract from the love scenes like I thought it would.

I guess in the end, the only question left is, What would you do to bring back your one true love?

Ms. Shayne I must say it is and has always been a pleasure to read your books.
