5.0 out of 5 stars Great end to the series!, May 13, 2015
The best book in the series!
I've loved Steven in the first two books, and I loved reading his story--getting to know him more. He was always the "good" kid in the first two books, so it was nice to peek behind that veil and see his struggles. Mary did a fantastic job showing the struggles even good kids can have.
I've also loved Claire throughout the whole series and was thrilled with how the book ended. Catching the readers up with what happens next to these characters was the perfect ending.
Finally, the topic in this book can be a difficult one to talk about, but it's everywhere in our society. Not even Christians are immune to the pull of pornography, and the author handled the topic openly and realistically. I pray this book will spark some conversations with parents and kids.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my review. My thoughts are my own.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Read, April 30, 2015
This review is from: From the Start (Paperback)
This is a solid romance story. All the elements are there and done well. Tagg is a great writer.
Although the family dynamics are outstanding and I look forward to reading more about this town and family, this book didn't stand out to me as much as Tagg's other books have. I can't put my finger on why exactly though....maybe because everyone was too nice/supportive/kind/etc. The only "rebel" is a young, coffee store owner, who I really hope shows up again. I liked the foster care element--that was my favorite part of the book.

This is a sweet, satisfying read. I recommend it to fans of Susan May Warren and those who like series surrounding a strong family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book!, April 26, 2015
This book is fantastic.
To be honest, I thought it was just going to be a romance with a woman figuring out her relationship with her dad. It was so much more.
There was romance--but not your typical romance.
There's sorrow and joy.
There's mystery.

Overall, I was very impressed with this book and look forward to reading more by this author.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book!, April 25, 2015
What I loved:
The complex characters. I love that Becky Wade didn't treat PTSD as an "easy fix" where Jake finds love and suddenly has no issues/problems.
I really liked Lyndie. She's strong and independent.
I LOVED seeing the characters from the two earlier books in the series--catching up with old friends.
I thought the faith element was solid and added to the story.

What I didn't like:
Ty is described throughout the series as very good looking. However, in this book, he is married. YET, Lyndie's friend (and side story in the book) gets flustered around him because he's so hot and comments/notices his good looks too many times. It had an uncomfortable feel to it.

Overall, this is a great book. Becky Wade is a fantastic writer, and I can't wait to see what she writes next.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pass, March 31, 2015
This book was hard to read. The characters are frustrating and show very little growth. I didn't like any of them. The plot would have worked better with a novel because I didn't understand April's actions at all.
I also was a little disappointed with the lack of spiritual emphasis. I don't like books to "preach" to me, but I do expect Christian characters to mention God/have their lives reflect their salvation. Overall, I'm disappointed in this book.

Susan May Warren is so good at creating dynamic families. I love reading her books because she creates a town full of unique people with a story to tell.
This one is no exception. The characters are well-developed and unique. The plot is fast and has a few twists here and there.
Overall, a fantastic read.

4.0 out of 5 stars I enjoyed this mystery by Donn Taylor, March 21, 2015
This review is from: Rhapsody in Red (Kindle Edition)
I enjoyed this mystery by Donn Taylor. It was well-written, and I liked the main characters (Press and Mara). They were unique and an interesting pair.
The mystery was intriguing without being too detailed about the crimes.
Overall, I really liked this book and plan to read more by the author

I've been hearing about Melissa Tagg's books for a long time now, and I finally read her first. I enjoyed it. It's a sweet story with well-developed characters who are likeable even though they make stupid decisions.
I like the author's writing voice. She's got a fresh style--just a great way with words, especially the similes.
Looking forward to reading another by her soon.
