5.0 out of 5 stars Watts At Scotts is a Masterpiece, September 17, 2005
This review is from: Watts at Scott's (Audio CD)
This is an album for anyone who enjoys the sounds of Duke Ellington and Peter King style jazz.Easy going and smooth with all the right textures.Romantic pieces thrown gently in the mix with the right instruments all in sync.Charlie always facinates me with his versitile drumming style.I saw the Stones Thursday night at Giant Stadium and even though he went through his ordeal with throat cancer he's a true hero with determination to not slow down. This kind of tour finishing up in March of 2006 has got to be tiring for him,but his perserverance will keep him going. This album is a must for those cold days of winter or a date. ENJOY

2.0 out of 5 stars Scorpions were stingless in this effort, September 14, 2005
This review is from: Eye II Eye (Audio CD)
I've been a fan since the late 70's and throught their career they have made great stuff. This album sounds like they just started out in a garage in Germany.Heavy Metal/Industrial for a group like this doesn't exist.I had the remote pleasure to listen to this at a friends house and I said "Who the hell is this?" My friend replied that it was the Scorpions latest and I rolled my eyes.To some people maybe this album will grow on you in time and perhaps the second is listenable but while you guys are enjoying that,I'll play Unbreakable now there's a welcome relief.

3.0 out of 5 stars rockihn roll is knackish, September 10, 2005
This review is from: Rockihnroll (Audio CD)
I remember the summer of 81 and the radio played smmoth songs to get you through those dog days.A man who has been around since the seventies made a rocking album.Every song is good from Valerie straight down to When the music starts.Although he sounded a little rough around the UH'S during the Breakup Song this is still nice to play as a remember when time.Although very commercial its great to play at parties or if you want to recapture those feelings of yesterday when you got the most out of your money buying CD'S.When an album has hits all the way through you don't feel like you were being ripped off.Now I know why people download songs, make a good album so we won't have to do it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Dirty diamonds shines, August 28, 2005
This review is from: Dirty Diamonds (Audio CD)
I've been listening to Alice now for almost 20 years and he hasn't slow down even pushing 60.He's quoted in an article in the Press saying when Mick Jagger retires Alice will still have 5 years to go.I'm sorry Alice I don't see ole Mick retiring anytime soon. The album Dirty Diamonds is a great album for those who like rock hard balads. When Bob Ezarin touches Alice's album something magical happens. The right chemistry is all around.Every track is well rounded and produced with great care. This album shines next to Billion Dollar Babies and that itself was a tough act to follow.

2.0 out of 5 stars the eye 2 is unfocused and blurry, August 26, 2005
This review is from: The Eye 2 (DVD)
ok,ok maybe i'm a little unfair and judgemental. This second film directed by the Pang brothers clearly goes in 2 directions.First it goes hollywoodish then it gets gross. The first one dealt with an eye transplant. She could see things that no one else could making her seem like she's crazy and two her eye can predict things or rather see results of circumstances before they actualy happen. The movie Premonition was identical to the Eye.This is not even close to making sense logicaly or intellectually. It's neither creepy or a horror film, its just another entry in the let's make money off of gore movies.A movie about dead babies please! We can watch the news for that kind of crap and the best part is it's for free.Folks rent the Premonition instead of this filth........ PLEASE I BEG YOU. DON'T BE A VICTIM LIKE ME

3.0 out of 5 stars just the average JOE WALSH here, August 22, 2005
This review is from: Ordinary Average Guy (Audio CD)
Through the early part of his career with the eagles he's always been the chief rocketeer.Although I grew somewhat tired of Hotel California I never grew tired of Take it to the Limit.I've always enjoyed Joe's earlier stuff up until the album CONFESSOR then I stopped abruptly.Joe needs to stop mixing sound styles and get back to where he belongs.Joe we need a good rock album we don't care if it's accoustic or love balads something!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars UPSIDE IS AN EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCE, August 19, 2005
This review is from: The Upside of Anger (DVD)
There are very few movies that really smack you around;this is one of them.Although Costner is wooden as Kris Kristofferson thank God for Joan Allen[I loved her in Searching for Bobby Fisher]to bring some real emotion to the screne. The story is simple enough a woman is effected by the sudden running off of her husband. She's angry and resentful and takes her anger out on everyone including her girls.Keven pushes his way in like a car sales man to befriend her at a time of hurt not allowing her to grieve alone. When Allen finds her daughter in bed with her boss{MIKE BINDER,DIRECTOR OF THE MOVIE}she flips out and gets even more angrier.Watch the scene at dinner when Allen thinks a violent thought towards shows producer.THAT WAS A GREAT TOUCH!!!!! UNEXPECTED.GOOD GOING MIKE A GREAT CURVE BALL.The movie in whole won't win any awards and the ending is about judging people or rather assuming then knowing the true facts being bloclked by rage and hatred. It's a good little movie filled with depth and insight I wished Kevin would loosen up and enjoy the role{s} he's given.

2.0 out of 5 stars Undercover this one once in a while, August 18, 2005
This review is from: Undercover (Audio CD)
I have just about all the Stones albums they've made and this isn't one of my favorites. It's not a bad album its just well, poorly produced and thrown together quickly.Charlie Watts drums sound tinny like a coffee can{PLASTIC} and the instruments sound off.The thing about the time period when this was first made was mid to late 80's and it really was an awkward time for albums. This album is good for parties and nostalgia but for classic stone fans it's in no way shape or form ever match up to SOME GIRLS or STICKY FINGERS..Thank God for that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars THIS SEASON IS THE WORST, August 17, 2005
This review is from: Season of the Hunted (DVD)
The reviewer before me gave it one star, that's generous. This thing should of never got of the ground it probably would of been better off.I love campy horror but this is so low budget that it sinks. The acting is dreadfull and the director puts himself in a scene in the coffee shop.....BIG DEAL!!!! Does he think he's made a diamond here, nope a lump of coal! Alfred Hitchcock can show up but not you buddy. If you want to see hunters being slaughtered find Hunters Blood,it might take awhile to get but it's worth the wait. The trick in making a low budget movie is so it earn money years from now,it's called having a smart business mind..... YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT. I HOPE THIS IS HIS LAST MOVIE BECAUSE I WON'T WATCH ANYTHING ELSE THAT HE'S GOING TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars You Can't Win = A Winner, August 8, 2005
This review is from: You Can't Win (Audio CD)
It's been awhile since Mason did anything since GYPSY BLOOD back in 1987 or so,and gotta tell ya it's worth the wait. He's plugged into great blues guitar riffs and his raspy voice brings that old touch of Muddy Waters. If you like good ole swaying blues then this is for you otherwise pass.
