5.0 out of 5 stars It's About Time, July 23, 2004
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This show was unique and cutting edge. It dared to tell and show people how much God loved them each and every episode. It is about time it is available on DVD in complete season formats.

It is a show that you can set down with your family and watch and not worry about content. It is a great way to open dialogue about God. The fact that it didn't attach itself to one paritcular religion is what makes it's appeal wide. It touches on subjects like alzhiemers, racism, alcoholism, drugs, teen issues, depression, AIDS, suicide, internet preditors, and many more topics that when watching with your family it can open a dialogue on these issues too.

This should be a must buy for anyone with family that wants something to watch with the kids. It is a must buy for the individual that wants to be reminded that God does love them even with their human faults.

The guest star line up is like a who's who in Hollywood. Bill Cosby, Randy Travis, Patty Duke, Priscilla Presley, Wynonna Judd, Celine Dion, Mandy Patinkin, Cloris Leachman, and etc. etc.

The regular cast that consists of Della Reese as Tess, Roma Downey as Monica, and John Dye as Andrew work so well together as a team and individually that you forget that they aren't really angels, yet makes you hope that there just might be angels like these.

I just hope that seasons 2-9 will also be offered thru Amazon so people like me can have our show back again, even if we have already seen the shows. They are just as good the second time around.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Is a Beatiful Journal, Perfect Companion, July 8, 2004
For the dollar or two extra, this leather bound issue is worth the choice over the hard cover version. The quality of the journal is excellent. I am glad I odered it and not the regualr hard bound cover.
This journal goes perfectly with the book The Purpose Driven Life. At the top of each page it gives you points and questions to ponder/answer. There is plenty of space to write your answers to the questions in the book as well as record your own personal feelings and questions about the book and God in general.
If you are looking for a gift to give a friend and they already have the book this is an excellent gift choice, especially for someone who is reading the book by themself. It helps you keep track of your thoughts and feelings about each section of the book. This journal is the perfect companion to the book and a very reasonable price through Amazon.com.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Helpful, July 8, 2004
I love this book. I am a Christian, but this book has helped me delve a little deeper into what God means for my purpose to be in my life and road to a closer relationship with God. I found that chapter 2 so far is one of my favorites. It does help to have a friend reading the book with you so you can discuss some of the questions at the end of each chapter, also just questions and thoughts in general from what you have read. This book also helps those who are looking for a different way to do a daily devotional to God.
Just a suggestion: I went to the back of the book to find what scriptures the footnotes were refering to. I wrote next to eacg each number the book, chapter and verse it was referring to. It made it alot quicker to go through the chapters that way. Instead of focusing on what Bible Warren took the scritures from I just used my King James version. Also in the back are further questions for you to think about regarding each chapter.
I highly recommend this book to Christians who are looking for a more structured way of finding out not only what God's purpose is for them in this life, but a bit more about themselves. This book isn't just a one time read, it is a good book to reread. It is also a good book to give to the Christian friend or family member that is trying to find their path and their personal journey on their walk with God.
Take your time reading and enjoying this book. It doesn't have to be read in 40 days.

5.0 out of 5 stars To "steal" a phrase ... Totally Awesome ... Solitaire, May 21, 2004
This review is from: The Way / Solitaire (Audio CD)
I know that The Way is the album cut release, but Solitaire is THE hit. Clay nails this one too. The passion and emotion when singing this song comes through loud and clear. As if he were Neil and in his place when he wrote this song. The vocals are flawless and not over done. You feel what the writer intended you to feel when listening to this. Clay didn't redo this song, he made it his own. The Way is reason enough to buy this CD, but Solitaire is the cherry on top of the sundae.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply AWESOME, January 21, 2004
This original has it all. For any fan of The Spinners and people who just like great music. From Sadie to Rubberband Man you won't find any group as together and addictive as The Spinners. This album has all of their best. It could even be called the best of the best. You can't beat Pervis' bass, and the harmonies. Too bad they don't have a DVD of this. If you close your eyes you can see the smooth moves that went with these classic songs. If you don't have any other albums by this group then you need this one. It is too bad that this generation won't have groups that compare to The Spinners. If you have a teenager and you want them to listen to some "real" music sit them down and let them listen to this. It won't take long and you all will be up and dancing to these classics, whether it is cheek to cheek or doing some of the old things like the hustle and the bump. Remember those days?! This is a fun album and I bet you will remember where you were when you first heard some of these songs. You can't help but smile.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice quick fix, November 19, 2003
This review is from: 30 #1 Hits (Audio CD)
This CD, like The Beatles 1, is a nice quick fix for Elvis fans who are in the mood for some good music from Elvis. If you're looking for 1 CD that has a lot of favorite hits and 1 new remix of an old song of his, then this is definitely the CD for you. I like to pull this CD out when I'm in the mood for some Elvis with out a lot of the movie tunes, and more of just the hits. If you like The Beatles and Elvis, and occasionally want to only hear the hits, then this CD is for your Elvis fix and above mentioned Beatles CD is your quick fix for them. Both CD's are very similar in the way they were put together to allow the fan to hear the number 1's and top 10's of these 2 pioneers in R&R.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not the best, but still a must for collectors., November 19, 2003
This review is from: The Beatles 1 (Audio CD)
There really isn't anything on this CD that you haven't already heard by The Beatles. Yet it is still worth buying and listening to. All the cuts are familiar songs that you can sing along with and take you back to a time and place where you were when you first heard a certain song. This CD is a nice quick fix for you when you are in the mood to hear a few favorite tunes by the boys from Liverpool.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read ... new opinion, November 19, 2003
This review is from: Living History (Hardcover)
I thought I knew all there was to know about the public Sen Clinton as well as more than I needed to know about her private life while in the White House. This book showed me a more human and real side to a woman who was seen by a lot of people as hard, calculating, and manipulative. This book brought her side of a very trying time in her life. After reading this I felt I knew a very different side of her. She loves her husband very much, that the marriage is not just a business. I enjoyed reading about her childhood and how she fell in love with Bill and his hands and how much she still loves him/them. This had to be a hard book to write. I also enjoyed reading about how, during the whole "monica" incident, that many unexpected people showed her they were there for her in different ways and offered her a chance to escape for even a brief moment from the public eye and be able to work out her personal heartache and struggles. I also have to admire her even more for standing up and showing she believes in her marriage vows and stood by her man publicly, no matter how she was feeling privately. This was an interesting read and brought out a different opinion for myself of Sen. Clinton. If you want to hear from her about her life and her feelings, as much as she was willing to write about those trying times, then this is the book to read. No tabloid headline stories and no spin. Just Hillary telling her side of her life and how she gets through it and all the public scrutiny that she lives with.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST for all Beatle fans old and new, November 19, 2003
This review is from: Let It Be... Naked (Audio CD)
I heard this played on the radio all the way thru last night. I am so glad I ordered this and I can barely stand the wait for it to get here! I still have my original album of this and I believe I actually prefer this version to the original. This should be a must have for all Beatle collectors and lovers. If you have a Beatle fan on your Christmas list. Buy this! They will love you for it. I predict it too will become another Beatle classic. "Let it Be ... Naked" proves that after 40 years the Beatles still live on and will for all time. If you have a teenager, buy it for them, this is a great way to introduce them to true legends and true musicians, singers, and song writers. Long live The Beatles and "Let it Be .. Naked", will encourage this! You will like every track on this. I predict it will become your new favorite Beatle CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read for ALL ages!, November 19, 2003
This review is from: The Velveteen Rabbit (Hardcover)
This book is a must read for all ages. I also sincerely recommend it for the more "mature" reader. There is a wonderful tale of being loved and and learning that not being needed anymore doesn't mean you aren't or never were loved or needed. Again excellent book for all ages. Expecially for the "kid" inside all of us adults. It will bring that feeling of childlike play and wonder back to your mind. Don't just give it to your child. Read it to them, with them, and do it more than once. Becoming real, is real, honest, and fun for all ages!
