3.0 out of 5 stars good read, May 23, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Suspenseful mystery with some surprising twists. Jake Sullivan, the main protagonist, is a likeable sort and he gets himself out of some surprising scrapes. I recommend this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Naive?, April 13, 2007
I think it is interesting that the author began her introduction with the idea that one of the reasons parents have such a tough time with their child coming out is because the concept of homosexuality is somewhat novel in this century. In fact the phenomenon of homosexuality is anything but new, au contraire, it has been around since time immemorial. It was widely practiced by the Greeks, and later easily spread among the Romans as well: think Nero and his cohorts, etc. I believe the exact opposite is true: it's not because homosexuality is novel that many parents have a problem coming "to terms" with homosexuality, it's more likely that most adults react negatively towards their child's coming out, because of what's happened to civilizations in history due in some measure to the pervasive and debilitating effects homosexual behavior has had on society. It's just as possible that some folks' reactions are due to knowledge rather than ignorance...

1.0 out of 5 stars Unsatisfying ending, November 9, 2003
This story about a burglar named Quinn and his romantic interest named Morgan fishtails at the end. During the whole intrigue, the reader is made to believe that Nightshade may turn out to be a woman
Nightshade turns out to not be a woman, but another mysterious woman turns up at the end without ever having been introduced, and Quinn ends up pursuing her with the result that the reader remains clueless as to what her role was in the story to begin with. Lousy ending. Not worth the money.

1.0 out of 5 stars BORING!!, January 9, 2001
This was one of the boringest books i've ever read.... Unless you want to kill serious time, and you love all types of science-fiction... then this is the book for you. If not, then don't try reading this book. I don't like books that don't get you hooked in, and this DEFINITELY doesn't get you hooked. That's all i have to say about it..
