1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy!, November 24, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I expected a book with practical examples and exercises which can be used to teach a child skiing. There are none! Instead of this book provides general advise that is for anybody who can ski trivial knowledge. Absolute waste of money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy!, October 4, 2012
This review is from: iPad Programming (Paperback)
I quite liked the book when it was published nevertheless it is getting not up to date. The worst problem is with the examples. They were prepared at spring 2010 and many of them do not work. There is a discussion on the WEB of Pragmatic Programmer nevertheless the authors do not respond. At this moment there is a lot of much better books. Do not waste your money!

2.0 out of 5 stars Review for Kindle edition, May 5, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Generally I consider the book interesting and competent. The book is definitively not for beginners. What I consider to be a serious negative is missing index. For that I would give to the printed version 4 stars.
Problem is with Kindle edition. The formatting of code examples which are significant part of the text is awful an makes reading of the code very difficult. Taking into consideration that the Kindle price is higher than price of printed version than this fact is hardly acceptable.
I will recommend buying of printed version and I strongly advice against purchase of Kindle version.

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not buy!, January 6, 2012
This review is from: Pro OpenGL ES for iOS (Paperback)
Apple's supports and promotes OpenGL ES 2.0 since iOS 3.x and so I naturally assumed that the book will be about OpenGL ES 2.0. Unfortunately this is not the case - the book is based on OpenGL ES 1.1. OpenGL ES 2.0 is not backward compatible with OpenGL ES 1.1 so if you read the book you learn a lot of stuff that is more or less obsolete. The book description is completely misleading - you will not learn advanced coding techniques. If I knew that book is focused on OpenGL ES 1.1 I would never buy it; unfortunately you can't learn it from the book description.
