5.0 out of 5 stars A whole years supply for $16., July 29, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Yep, that's what you get here- 365 days of Cetrizine aka the generic for Zyrtec. Works the same for me, and at a great price.

Some poor souls, like myself, have to take this year around. If you have that problem, this is the way to buy it.

4.0 out of 5 stars dedicated research, July 29, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a scholarly and extremely well researched book on Disney studios during WWII and their many contributions to the war effort.

Altho well written in a clear manner- it is not a "page turner" or "easy read".

On the other hand it is a must read for those interested in Disney history or Hollywood in WWII.

It has links to copious illustrations on the authors website. A version with glossy illustrations would be nice, but I fear very expensive.

4.0 out of 5 stars Super fun game to play over & over, July 29, 2014
Invaluable guide. Now yes, it is often fun to explore on your own without help, sure. But Diablo 1 has the advantage (at least for me) of something I can play over and over.

Yes, there are also some nice on-line guides, but this you can quickly open without interrupting your game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Charming!, July 28, 2014
This review is from: The Monster Realm (Paperback)
This is a rather nicely done book for the tween fantasy reader crowd, or those just young at heart.

What's amazing is that the author is a tween herself, and this book is better than many I have seen marketed to those readers written by "adults". But you see that's the issue- those were written by adults- for adults, thinking that Mom buys most of the books. So, they play it safe. Kids are rarely put in danger, etc. Everything is PC.

But this is written by an author who KNOWS what an adventurous, imaginative reader her age wants to read- since she is one.

The book races along, taking our trio of young girls from one adventure and escape to another, showcasing many monsters from Greek Mythology- but maybe with surprising twists.

Now, sure Nara is not up to the likes of J. K. Rowling, Susan Cooper, or Edith Nesbit- but who knows how good she'll be by the time she gets into college? Keep your eyes on her!

4.0 out of 5 stars Big Iron!, July 24, 2014
Great selection of Marty Robbins tunes here: El Paso (two versions)- the fantastic Big Iron- His Master's Call - the Hanging Tree - A Hundred and Sixty Acres, Little Green Valley and Cool Water. True, I prefer Sons of the Pioneers for Cool Water, but this is interesting.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hot brass, cool sounds, July 24, 2014
This review is from: The Lonely Bull (Audio CD)
This is a solid collection of brass ensembles by Herb Alpert and co, their first album. Due to technical issues, the stereo isn't quite right. Still it has some great tunes such as:"The Lonely Bull (El Solo Toro.)" "El Lobo (The Wolf)". "Tijuana Sauerkraut" "Desafinado;" "Never On Sunday" , "Struttin' With Maria" and others.

Not their best but still good.

4.0 out of 5 stars WWII heroes in a lab coat, July 23, 2014
During WWII many deaths were caused by disease. One of the worst killers was Typhus, spread by lice. Typhus was worse when people were dirty, exhausted and poorly nourished, so it hit particularly hard on the Eastern Front... and among the Jews in the camps and ghettos.

Rudolf Weigl was a Polish biologist, who was forced by the Nazis to work on a Typhus Vaccine. Weigl developed a sort of vaccine that needed many human victims for the lice to feed on. Weigl was able to protect many Jews who were sent to him for this distasteful task by giving them the vaccine and also smuggling the vaccine into the Warsaw ghetto. To us, being used as a Human feeder for lice would seem horrible, but it was far better than being sent to the death camps. "We were one big family," one of them wrote. "Although we were paid a pittance, and the additional allocations weren't enough to replace the blood we lost, to be a Weigl employee was a mark of nobility."

His assistant was Ludwik Fleck, a Jewish/Polish Physician who was later sent to Buchenwald. He was taken first to the laboratory at Auschwitz and then to the one at Buchenwald, the SS Hygiene Institute's Department of Virus and Typhus Research. He there began to produce a fake vaccine that the Nazis did not recognize. The Nazis "demanded large quantities of vaccine, we produced two types: one that had no value and was perfectly harmless, and went to the front; and a second type, in very small quantities, that was very efficacious and used in special cases like for comrades who worked in difficult places in the camp. . . . The inefficacy of our vaccine could have been revealed, and there were outside experts that the SS had at its disposition who could have investigated and discovered that it wasn't real. Nothing like that happened. The adventure continued until March 1945."

Very little has been written about these two brave scientists, and thus this book is long overdue. Fascinating!

4.0 out of 5 stars Odd occurrences in a outre little town, July 22, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Poor Finn! She lost her Mother, then her sister took her own life. Now, her Da is moving her away from SF to a rather strange little East Coast college town, where Finn has to make new friends and try to fit into her new college (incidentally, I like that the author has picked College instead of the over used High School).

Fortunately she makes a couple of close friends quickly, but the "in crowd" at her new school is very strange- like out of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream or The Tempest strange. Student wear odd "Ren Faire" like garb, and speak in rather mystical ways.

Slowly and with mounting terror and joy, Finn is drawn into this mystical and outre new world.

The author does this very well, dropping hints and building the suspense nicely.

A real page turner, you won't be able to put it down.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Right stuff, July 22, 2014
This is 100% pure Shea Butter. Do not mistake this with other "Shea butter" products that may contain only a little Shea but lots of other ingredients including chemicals and other stuff you might not want.

This is the 'real stuff".

Good news is this block will last you a long time. Bad news is that even tho it's called "butter' you can't eat it!

Guys- try it for shaving, instead of shaving cream.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Joe!, July 22, 2014
This is an attractive& stylish looking French press.

I have tried it with both fine ground and coarser ground coffee, though it is recommended to not use too fine a grind, and it has worked well with both. The mesh for the filter comes up a little bit farther around the edge than on other presses I have used and this traps the coffee grounds very well and it has been easy to clean.

It makes lots of coffee even for two people who drink from big coffee mugs. It came with a much appreciated coffee measuring spoon for the perfect pot. I like the taste of this coffee better than from my electric coffee maker.
