4.0 out of 5 stars I don't mind that these are the broadcast version episodes, and here's why..., July 11, 2012
While I thoroughly enjoyed the extended cuts on the DVD versions, this collection will give you a chance to watch the episodes in the manner in which they were intended to be watched, and in high definition!

And it's completely understandable why these HD versions must be the broadcast versions and I think, in the long run, the quality of the picture and audio, as well as some nifty packaging, far outweighs the need for an additional 2-3 minutes of bonus jokes per episode.

5.0 out of 5 stars People know this movie is rated "R"... right?, June 30, 2012
This review is from: Wanderlust [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
I'm looking at all of the negative reviews on here and 90% of them are based on the graphic nature of the film and the fact that it's not for younger audiences... DUH!

The film is rated "R", meaning anyone under 17 needs to be accompanied by an adult to see it in theaters or to purchase it in the store. If you don't want to watch a hilarious movie with shocking obscenity and nudity, go watch something else.

I personally think "Wanderlust" is the perfect film for anyone who's questioned their life's path and I think the movie has some wonderfully understated moral themes about individuality versus group identity.

Jennifer Aniston, Justin Theroux and Paul Rudd are all at their best while they're working together. It's also fun to see three giant movie stars doing a film that was not a sure-fire blockbuster guarantee.

I say, if you're not a prude, see this film; If you are, go see another crappy remake of a fairy-tale or a movie about harmless vampires falling in love.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Title Says it All... so stop complaining., December 1, 2011
The reviews warning against this product due to a lack of special features are completely misguided. The title of this release is "The 8 Film Collection"; it is not called "Collector's Edition" or "Deluxe Edition" or "The Bonus Features Galore Collection". This is a nice little set for casual fans who simply want all 8 films on blu-ray. And considering this set is (currently) less than $80, how can you complain?

Yes, if you're a huge fan of the franchise and want extended cuts and bonus features, save your time and money and wait for a possible future release. But I find it silly that so many reviewers are "warning" others not to buy this release because it doesn't have all the bells and whistles.

You know what it does have? The films.

3.0 out of 5 stars No Zac Efron Commentary, August 11, 2011
This review is from: 17 Again [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
Actually none of the promised BD-Live commentaries actually show up. Just the other two BD-Live bonus features.

It's disappointing because Zac Efron's commentary was one of the reasons I spent the extra money on the Blu-ray.

4.0 out of 5 stars PEOPLE ARE MISSING THE POINT!, February 9, 2010
This review is from: MARIE ANTOINETTE (Blu-ray)
I see a lot of reviews on here saying this is a bad historical film. To clarify... the director has stated repeatedly that she didn't want to make a historical bio-pic. She wanted to make a film about Marie Antoinette to show her youth and vibrance that teenagers could relate to. The 80's music and non-use of French are both clear indicators that this isn't a movie for viewers who want a fact-by-fact retelling of Marie's life.

It disappoints me that this film is so underrated, despite it's vibrant, fun, and optimistic take on one of the world's greatest and most controversial historical figures.

4.0 out of 5 stars When is this going to be released???, February 3, 2010
The show is doing pretty well, now in its 5th season. I just don't understand why the studio refuses to release seasons 3 and 4 on DVD or iTunes!

1.0 out of 5 stars All sex; No story., January 27, 2010
This review is from: Dante's Cove: Season 1 (DVD)
Well- let me be clear: there is a story... a very WEAK, convoluted story. The plot is clearly not as important to the writers as cramming in as many sex scenes as possible. Someone compared this show to "Queer As Folk"... "QAF" had strong stories that dealt with real gay and lesbian issues and the sex scenes were done, yes explicitly, but more importantly- artistically. There is no art to this series. I bought the first season and returned it after watching the first few episodes because I was so disgusted. This exploitation is the LAST thing we (gays) need.

3.0 out of 5 stars Three Stars For Alyssa..., January 21, 2010
This review is from: Wisegal (DVD)
If you're looking for an action-packed, well-written film... this is NOT the film for you. A large part of the dialogue is cheesy and the characters are somewhat stereotypical, HOWEVER...

Alyssa Milano is pure brilliance in this film. Considering what she was given for material, Alyssa was able to breathe life and spirit into the character, and for that, this film is worth watching.

This review is from: (500) Days of Summer (DVD)
This was one of the best movies I've seen in the past few years. I just don't understand the logic of the Blu-Ray being released on December 22 and this being released January 5th!!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Not AT ALL What I Remembered..., August 29, 2008
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Part of the reason why I was disappointed with this, is my own fault. I used to watch this when I was younger, and thought it was amazing. Watching it now, as a nineteen year old... I realize I was naive. Apart from the less-than-stellar acting, the production itself is laughable. I could have filmed this on my digital camera and it would have looked better. The camera operator often shakes through the movie, and the sound is a bit off. I wouldn't recommend spending money on this!
