5.0 out of 5 stars Standard one stop shopping for media, December 27, 2014

Roxio has been the go to media manager since the late 90's. There are other packages out there that rip, name, sort, burn, edit, and convert, but none have been so complete. This is mostly basic though and if you're expecting deeper editing of movies, like with the Corel version, it'll cost ya.
My only gripe is that BluRay is not supported for burning in this edition, rather you need to spend an extra twenty for that plug-in. With the density and size of most media the 4.7 / 9.4 limit for DVDs is barely enough, so eventually I'll be bucking up for that.
This new release has been loaded with goodies that I've yet to fully explore, but the look and feel of the editors are pretty easy to pick up.
I use screen shots quite a bit for documenting work related procedures, that's been a nice tool as well.
There is room for updating things like the video presentation templates since I've been seeing the same ones for years now.
All in all though, Roxio has been a solid multi media workhorse for the majority of my needs.

Oh, the fun you can have with a dog whistle. Warning, cellphone speakers often aren't enough to handle it, but those portable bluetooth speakers open up a whole new world of possibilites.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy, yet gummy, December 17, 2014

It's completely made of that gel stuff so it sticks to every contour on a modern dashboard.
Holds other stuff than a phone. Just a little soap n water if it gets nasty. Got this to replace the flat one I got a couple months ago after it tore. This looks much more sturdy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good enough, December 17, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
It took a couple of tries to finally get it working. That's the missing star, it did take a while to set up.
Just went the simple way using the CD for set up, nothing fancy. The 2.5Ghz did not seem to play nicely with the cell phones. It'd recognize and connect, then drop, then search, then connect, then drop.
On the third time I tried the 5Ghz connection and it worked fine.
The signal travels about the same as everyother WiFi device of that sort does, good but not super good, it reaches throughout the house and the backyard.
All in all a nice access point for what I needed.

This book is more for folks who suffer from hardcore depression. I was looking for something that would help in tuning up a more healthy lifestyle. The bulk of the book, 120 pages, is just interviews of famous people. Made me feel like I was reading the enquirer.
Was interesting but I expecting something more.

Funny, informative, irreverent. Keeps bringing up empiricism and that mysterious "scientific method". Oh, hockey sticks! you say.
One of the first things that jumped out at me was "B" Big Green. As of 2005 there were 26,000 environmental groups in the U.S. alone. The environmental movement is raking in just under a trillion worldwide.
That makes Environmentalism a big business. Peer reviewed papers? Back in the last century the editor of Nature warned that institutions would be bullied into agendas like the ozone hole, etc.
But, a man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.
What is telling is the fanaticism behind the movement. 'Deniers' can laugh and joke, make convincing arguments and in the end go home happy. I don't see any 'deniers' get bug eyed while spit-shouting the party line like an AlGore.
True Believers will target guys like James, shout down, slander, mock and more. Walking into a 'discussion' is like walking into a room of poo-throwing monkeys.
It is easy to see that from their point of view animals are superior to mankind. Polar Bears figure prominently into this mythology and is used with great humor in the chapter introductions.
All in all, if environmentalists weren't so priggishly self righteous they wouldn't be so much fun to tease.

The Cedar is slightly better. The juniper gives it that gin whiff. Not too bad altogether. Great for that metro-hipster that sports a lumberjack beard and flannel while tapping on an iphone waiting for public transportation. I'm not that cool. sorry.

An old publication I picked up for a quick reference. There is significant difference between the two that filtered into modern Christian thinking. Most notable is the concept of spirit and matter, time and space, good and evil.
Each has compelling logic, but based on different values.
Used in connection with Lewis' The Discarded Image, and there is much revealed about how we think as Westerners and Christians.
