4.0 out of 5 stars It's the wii, but it's still fun, August 29, 2012
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Other reviews here are just flat out misinformed about the Wii version of Madden. There is Franchise Mode, Fantasy Draft and roster updates are available through wi-fi. There is no point going on and on about how the graphics are no good. It's the mechanics and gameplay that should concern you. It's a football game, and as such it delivers. This may well be the last Madden put out for the wii, and imho it is the best one put out so far. You have multiple control options (classic controller, wiimote and nunchuk, or wiimote sideways), multiple gameplay options (including practice, Franchise, 5 on 5, and Fantasy Draft). I can't say if it's a major improvement over last year's offering, but it is better than Madden 10 and the several that I have owned before that. If you don't own a ps3 or 360, and enjoy football, this is a good wii game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Almost exactly what I wanted, May 16, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I'm not a major tech geek. I was looking for a somewhat low-priced entertainment option. My family and I have "cut the cord" of television, and with the desktop in a bedroom with a wife who is bothered by light and noise when she is trying to sleep (imagine that), I needed something that could get me to Netflix, Hulu, MLB.tv, amazon, youtube, etc. This has been perfect. On CBS.com, I did encounter the famous shockwave crashes that chrome is so good at inducing. I was able to go into the options and disable one of the two pre-installed versions, and this fixed that problem. MLB.tv works really well with any of the archived games, but the live ones give me trouble. That may well be my slow dsl as much as anything, but like I say, the archived ones work just fine. I miss the dvd drive option, but otherwise for $300 dollars tax free and shipped, there is no other option that could have pleased me as much.

5.0 out of 5 stars As far as the game goes..., March 30, 2011

You would think, for a golf game, you would have a little bit more refined group of reviewers. So maybe you've had bad experiences with Amazon or with your English teacher who couldn't teach you how to spell. Sorry. Bottom line is this is a great--not just good--game for the wii. It has Augusta and 23 other courses, the President's Cup, Disc Golf, Mini-golf, nearly flawless online play (for the wii, it doesn't get much better), and all of the control that has been refined with each release of TW on the wii. It is an outstanding game. The only thing missing from previous versions is the Tracking Tiger, but this has been replaced with a "Course Mastery" system where there are about 25-30 goals for each course to become a master on that course. Lots of replayability and worth every penny.

4.0 out of 5 stars Quick, easy, and most importantly: fun., January 28, 2010

This is a great game for anyone who has 20-25 minutes and wants to have fun. I've played it with people from 8-63 and there are always laughs. It's easy to teach (fewer than 5 minutes), game play moves swiftly, and most people have a shot at winning right until the end. You don't have to be a major mathmetician to figure things out, the highest number is 5 and you add and subtract a little from there. I did take a star off, because I agree that instructions are a bit vague with regards to a few of the action cards. That was brought up in an earlier review regarding the word "random" and a few minor questions have cropped up as I have played that I've just had to kind of make up answers for. Overall, a great game for friends or family.

2.0 out of 5 stars Multiplayer maybe an evening or two; single player, beware, August 15, 2009
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
I have been a loyal ea customer for over 25 years. I love the Tiger Woods series which, even on the wii, is graphically sufficient and more importantly a ton of fun. Almost every ea game I have bought has been an experience of "I'm glad they fixed that, but now there's this issue." Usually the issues are small enough though to still recognize that I'm playing a pretty good game. Madden 10 is different. If you own 09, keep it. Keep it and treasure it. The new point and click pass system is cool, and call your shots can be done on defense now, as well as offense, so there are some minor improvements to the overall gameplay, but not even close to enough to justify the price tag. There is no longer a franchise mode or a create your own superstar mode, both of which could hold your interest as a single player. There is a "Road to the Superbowl" mode which does allow for you play a single season, but that's it, no trades, no free agents, no drafts, no training camp (except in the mini-games), over half of the fun--gone. I was way more excited and satisfied last year, Madden 10 wii is a big letdown.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tiger 09 for the wii pretty much delivers, August 30, 2008
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
I have been a fan and owned every Tiger for the Playstation, PS2, and now this is the 3rd version for the wii. While I would agree that if you are a casual golf fan, 07 and 08 are great games and you can have a lot of fun with them for less money. To say that nothing has been done to this version to improve it however, is totally inaccurate. The graphics are hugely improved over the previous two years. Not only are they crisper and more realistic, but the frame rate is also noticeably improved. This is the first version of Tiger for the Wii that was developed by the Tiburon guys (The same group who puts out the Madden series)and it has made a difference. If multiplayer options are important to you, they too have been improved including about 15 fun new mini-games. Of course there is now online play and some other cool options to speed up your game a little. All the single player goals and options are pretty much the same, but this means tons of tourneys and venues that keep it interesting. There are 5 new courses and a total of 22 courses on the game. I can't speak much to the "All-Play" aspect of the game, but even without utilizing that, they have made it easier to "pick up and play." They have improved the tutorials and have a "club tuner" to help you straighten out shots if you have consistent problems. On another note,I have played for about 10 hours and haven't encountered any bugs (something that people complained about in 08's version--though very few of those had any significant impact on the gameplay). So again, I would say that this is undoubtedly the best Tiger on the wii. Is it a big enough improvement to warrant buying it if you have last years? That's hard to say because last year's was a great game, but I can say that I have absolutely no regrets about trading in 08 to get this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Baseball on PS2 by a long shot, March 2, 2007
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: MLB 07 The Show (Video Game)
I'm not going to waste your time, you just have to know that this is far and away the best baseball game for the ps2. It takes a while for a game, but everything is smooth and realistic. About 20 hours of gameplay and there haven't been any annoyances like you get with the 2k series. If you like baseball at all, get it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not groundbreaking--but solid nonetheless, October 17, 2006
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
It should be no surprise to the owners of EA games that there is nothing revolutionary about this year's release of Tiger Woods golf. That being said, the 2007 installment of this game has taken what's good about the past couple of seasons and put it together right. I have owned every Tiger Woods game for the ps2. 2004 stands as the game that improved the most upon the series' previous endeavors. 2005 made some minor tweaks that ended up working quite well as the result was an addictive, smooth flowing game. I thought 2006 was a minor step back as the graphics were somewhat cloudy and there wasn't much new as far as courses and options went. This year the graphics are better, there are 21 courses, and some fun new modes (ie one ball and team one ball). There is unfortunately not anything that resembles the Ryder or President's Cup format(s). The AI in the pro tournaments has improved from 2004 and 2005 making the computer scores much more competitive. All in all, for what the ps2 can do, you couldn't ask for a better golf game. Hot Shots and some others might be "fun," but no other game combines fun and realism as well as this game does. Definately worth your while if you are at all a fan of golf or this series.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Step back in most respects, September 30, 2005
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
If you are a fan of the previous TW games, this is still a fun game and has even improved in capturing the "feel" of the game. The new controls are well done and the putting is more difficult, but more realistic. I have to agree though that graphically it is not nearly as crisp as 2004 or 2005. And like a previous reviewer mentioned, I can't stand having to watch celebrations or the computer characters addressing the ball as it adds time to your round. If you are new to the TW series, don't start here. Get 2004 or 2005 which are twice as fun for less than half the price. If you have dominated those games though, this is still better than your average game.
