5.0 out of 5 stars Nice bluetooth option, April 9, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Bluetooth everything is the trend...now there's a HEPA filter too. The set up on this was really easy, connecting it to an iPhone. The app works well. The air filter is nice and quiet on a low setting, and impressively powerful on high. I will really put it to test this summer over fire season but so far it seems to be doing a good job with spring pollen. I like that there aren't a lot of bright lights on this unit, unlike some others I have tried, so it will work well in a bedroom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ruthenian hymns!, April 9, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
If you are a Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic, this is comfort food for your ears. And if you're new to the church, these albums by the Blessed Paul Gojdich Seminary Choir are a great way to learn the hymns and the liturgy in Old Church Slavonic. It's a mom-and-pop type recording but the voices are excellent, and the enunciation is clear enough to help you learn or sing along.

4.0 out of 5 stars Interesting, April 2, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is a really fascinating story, and the author is a good writer. I just feel like, as with many memoirs written by young people, it would have been such a better book if she had sat on these experiences a few years and let the work of time and maturation do some editing. Things that take center stage in your 20s will be forgotten before you hit 40, and things that seemed insignificant will turn out to be hugely important and central. It would be interesting to see some more of that weeding process at work, less about boyfriends, more perspective.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected, April 1, 2015
This review is from: The Road to Character (Hardcover)
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is definitely a timely topic, and the opening examples made me excited to see where Brooks was going to go with it. However I found this book rather difficult to get through because Brooks repeats himself a lot, and takes a lot of detours to get from point A to point B. Also, I wish he would have decided if he was going to make this an outright Christian book, or a book meant to appeal to seculars too. As it is, it's informed by Christianity, but not really fish or fowl, and that puts it in a rather awkward place.

4.0 out of 5 stars Garden as metaphor, April 1, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This book is a series of vignettes about the author's complicated relationship with her aging mother. She chooses the common ground of garden and kitchen as a grounding metaphor for the complexities of the mother-daughter relationship and the spiritual aspects of life together. It's an enjoyable concept, so long as you also love the garden. It sort of reminds me of the memoir "Miriam's Kitchen," you have to be in the right mindset and interest set to enjoy it, but it is enjoyable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely thorough, March 30, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
So far I am only an armchair traveler, but this book definitely gives me enough information to make me want to turn that into a real trip to Scotland. In addition to pretty much exhaustive information on many locales, both large and small, there is a valuable section on food and drink, culture, and weather. Lonely Planet guides were always known for going off the beaten path a bit, and this one is no different. It won't just take you to the tourist traps that everyone has heard of, but will let you put together and plan your own great adventure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great option for sensitive skin, March 30, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I really like this stuff. It worked to get out a couple of obvious stains (including a grass stain) and yet it is indeed very gentle. We have a bunch of eczema and sensitive skin people in our household so it's perfect for us. A little bit does go a long way, even on truly dirty garments. The lavender smell is very pleasant but also very subtle, so it doesn't irritate anyone. I think I like this better than the 7th generation stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars Less frustration for gardeners, March 23, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Great hose, easy to set up, definitely light weight. I like it a lot better than the one I had before in that it is easier to carry around and use and, as it says, not as likely to get kinked up. That alone is a huge deal, as it is so incredibly frustrating dealing with kinks and the bulk of a regular garden hose. Technology can do some amazing things.

5.0 out of 5 stars really great birdfeeder!, March 21, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Look at the measurements carefully to be sure this will work for you. It is truly huge! If you can find a place to put it, though, it's hard to think of how it could be better. The squirrel-proofing is pretty much foolproof (or at least rodent-proof). The amount of seed this thing can hold, in different varieties, is amazing. You won't have to refill it nearly as often. And the design is both sturdy and relatively lightweight.

Just sit back and wait for spring and summer's flocks to fly in!

5.0 out of 5 stars Soft and sturdy, March 18, 2015

I looked everywhere to find a replacement for my daughter's favorite sweater, which is cable knit and buttons like this one. This is a nice sweater and she loves it. It is comfortable enough she has wanted to wear it to bed. However it also looks very dressy and is nice with a skirt or dress for church too. Very versatile piece for the wardrobe.
