Dr. Martens Men's Lance Shoe,Tan,8 F(M) / 9 D(M)
Dr. Martens Men's Lance Shoe,Tan,8 F(M) / 9 D(M)

2.0 out of 5 stars Look great but not comfortable, May 16, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I love the look of these shoes and initially they were great. However, after a few wears, the left shoe developed an unusual fold pattern that digs into the top of my foot just behind the left big toe. It's become so uncomfortable, that I've stopped wearing them. The right shoe is just fine...wish both were that comfortable.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great feeling, but not durable, May 16, 2012

I find this glove to fit really well and to feel just about perfect in dry conditions. The one complaint is that it does not hold up quite as well as some higher cost gloves I've tried. Still for the price, this glove is better than most.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent towel, May 16, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Possibly the best golf towel I've ever used. Perfect texture for rubbing of mud, great absorbancy, large size.

My only complaint is that it should have a way to attach to the golf bag other than just the slit to put over a club. Already lost one towel that fell somewhere on the range.

Also, the pocket towel is really a little too small to be useful except for too wipe balls on the green and then who wants to stick a dirty towel in their pocket. Would be better if it was a little bigger and could be tucked in the waistband as a hip towel. That would be perfect.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid instructional book, May 16, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
John Jacobs provides a solid instructional book. Many instructors fall into either an arm driven or (more popular) body driven swing. While body driven instructors put Jacobs in the arm driven swing category, I believe he's really exactly in the middle. He believes that both are required in the appropriate measure.

A big bonus is his sections on troubleshooting on the course (including how lie, slope and club will affect shot direction and shape) and the fixs/faults section. The fixs/faults section is an abbreviated version of his Golf Doctor book, but just as good and a little more simplified (for the better). Technical swing mechanists will find fault with some of the physics of his explanations, but his fixes are based on years of experience and have worked for me.

This review is from: Small Ripstop Duffel Bag (Apparel)
Perfect bag for taking a few things to the gym or golf course (pair of shoes and shirt, etc). Not too big like so many others. Stays fairly structured to make finding items easier. Solid, sturdy construction. Side exterior pocket could be a little bigger.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for standard weight grip, May 16, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
If you're looking for a corded, standard weight grip that's a little easier on your hands than alternatives, this is the grip for you. I've tried several corded grips, but the slightly exposed cord really tears up my hands. This grip has the cord texture but covered by a thin layer of material. Combined with the extra tackiness of Winn grips, the traction in wet/humid conditions is great without the extra friction of convential cord.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great performance - not so great durability, May 16, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I absolutely love the slightly soft feel, tackiness, and weight of these grips. The low weight adds to the feel of the clubhead and helps me with consistent contact.

The only downside is that these do not last as long as other, harder grips (I'd say half as long). I still use them as my preferred grip, but I would prefer that they last longer in the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars Temper your expectations but still a good deal, May 16, 2012
Please note the difference between recycled golf balls (which these are) and refurbished golf balls (which these aren't). Recycled balls have been recovered (probably from a water hazard, woods, or deep grass hazard) and cleaned. They will potentially have scuffs and small cut marks. My experience is that a percentage of Reload recycled balls will have small cut marks that make them unplayable for an actual game (say 10 to 15% on average). A larger percentage will have scuff marks that do not affect performance (say 50%) and the remainder have no discernable imperfections. Many will have faint markings from the previous user that were not completely removed by the cleaning process (i.e. permanent marker dots, etc).

Refurbished balls available from other vendors/companies are the same types of balls but have had the surface mechanically treated/roughened and then repainted. 1) that means it may not be the brand claimed and 2) I suspect this process does affect the ball's performance. At the least, anecdotally the reapplied paint is more likely to come off during play.

Considering that the Reload balls are half the original cost of new premium golf balls, I still consider them a good deal, but understand that there will be some that you won't want to play, thereby lowering the savings. However, the "poor" ones will still give you good quality practice balls/water balls if that helps you and the price is still lower than full price. Also, there is a little bit of variability in the number of "poor" balls, that adds a little to the fun.
