5.0 out of 5 stars Fast 150mb/s usb 3.0 drive! Looks good and reliable. Best with exFAT file system., June 6, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Got the 64gb version. Keep in mind it lists 57.6 GB total but that's normal. Nice drive definitely worth the price with lots of storage. Looks good and appears sturdy with the solid metal rotating cover. Also has an activity light on the end of it. Definitely takes advantage of usb 3.0 speeds. Also judging by reviews it appears to be reliable.

Came formatted to FAT32. If you need to store files bigger than 4 gigabytes you'll need to format it. Unlike some other reviews mentioned I can format to NTFS with no problems. The sequential write speed with ntfs does drops to 50 MB/s(from 70 MB/s) but the overhead barely affects the other speeds. Most users won't really notice it. I formatted it to exFAT and get the fastest speeds and the ability to store large files. Modern Windows and Mac operating systems support exFAT. Also Vista, XP, and Linux being supported with a free update. So unless you have a special need I'd recommend it. Great speeds for the price! Writing lots of small files will slow it down quite a bit but most flash drives are affected by this.

exFAT Speeds using 500mb test file in Crystal Mark (MB/s):
Seq: Read 151.8 - Write 77.86
512k: Read 136.6 - Write 33.69
4k: Read 3.788 - Write 1.045
4k QD32: Read 4.950 - Write 1.525

Judging by the small amount of negative reviews the drive appears to be very reliable. Very few defective drives reported. Helped seal the deal for me being a brand I never heard of.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great affordable everyday watch. Long battery life very accurate time., January 27, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Casio Men's WV58A-1AV (Watch)
Battery still working after 5+ years. Great value good for everyday use and doesn't look bad for casual formal occasions. Not too big like some atomic watches. Keeps time within seconds of computer and phone so you don't have to worry about inaccurate time. Shows not only day and date but year so transitions are easier.

I did need to replace the watchband because it cracked which is simple if you have the tools. Also keep in mind it has a plastic face and does scratch. Can't down rate it based on that since it is inexpensive for what I was getting.

Overall its a nice, reliable, everyday watch that keeps you on time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected for the price | Good with opensource software, May 31, 2013
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Good tablet. If it cost twice as much I would of given it a lower rating or likely gone with the Wacom Bamboo Splash. Good for a hobbyist that wants tablet input without spending much. I don't plan on using it a lot but it is nice to have another option for input.

Pros+/Cons-
+Inexpensive
+Accurate
+Sensitive pressure
+Not Lagging
+Recently updated drivers
+works with windows 8
-Cheap plastic feel
-Battery powered pen
-Pen twice as heavy as wacom
-Pen button can stick
-No eraser
-Drivers may not be as reliable as wacom

Hardware:
Note the included AAA battery is in a hard to see plastic sleeve be sure to remove it. Pen is like a big ballpoint pen. It is heavier than a wacom but still not a big issue. Base has plastic feel. Pen contact feels like a pen on glossy/wax paper thankfully not too slick like glass. I found that the pen button was sticking a bit but fixed it by putting a drop of oil on my finger and rubbing it around the button. The pen slot is on the center of the top of the tablet not separate as pictured. I'd prefer it be separate as I place it in front of my keyboard but I can just place the pen aside.

Setup:
I recommend ignoring the CD and GO TO uc-logic.com to the support section to get the latest driver software. I was pleased to find it was updated May 2013, a few days before I received the tablet! The installer did crash after installing so I had to force close it. RESTART after or pressure won't work. A good amount of Settings can be found but clicking the tablet button in the system tray.

To get the maximum surface area and avoid annoyances I recommend doing the following: In settings go into hot cells and disabling all of them, if using a widescreen you may want to keep it on top on bottom since the space is otherwise wasted. Then go into the Scope tab and select Full Area(allows you to go all the way to the edges) AND then press Screen Ratio(to avoid distortion caused by mismatch aspect ratios). I also recommend looking over Monitor Setting if interested in isolating the tablet to a small part of the screen.

Drawing:
Has a nice smooth feel on screen. My worry was lag but didn't notice any. It is a bit awkward compared to drawing on paper looking at the screen but that is true of most graphic tablets. Pressure works well. Lacks tilt but can't expect it.

Software:
Note that this uses the UC Logic driver and pressure may not work with some programs, but should work in all apps with mouse support sans pressure. Fortunately the recent drivers means it likely won't be abandoned with bad drivers. I am using 64-bit Windows 8 without issues with software, a few I needed to google to find tips/solutions. I avoided the included programs and found it odd they didn't include a graphics/drawing app but instead focused on productivity apps when I'm guessing 95% of people getting this are using it for graphic arts. A lot of productivity apps have pen annotation built in and the windows 7/8 snipping tool is good for annotating screen shots. If having issues with software try restarting your pc.

Works good with these FREE opensource programs:
Gimp 2.6.11(AVOID version 2.8 for now, currently has issues with tablets)
Mypaint 32-bit(couldn't get the 64-bit version to work)
Inkscape (Works good with the calligraphy pen and tweak tool)
Blender (Handy for 3d sculpting)

4.0 out of 5 stars Great router since firmware update, January 27, 2013
Before a firmware update this was horrible on comcast, going out every other day. Now since then has been solid for several months.

Pros:
-Fast
-Single device for connectivity

Cons:
-2.4ghz and 5ghs bands cannot operate at the same time, makes 5ghz useless unless all devices are 5ghz.
-VPN was disabled by latest firmware!
-Since software is maintained by cable companies no custom firmware and waiting for updates to be pushed out

5.0 out of 5 stars Great filter to keep water safe and tasting great!, January 15, 2012
I've had this filter over 6 months and really like it, it is not perfect, but I gave it 5 stars because I found it to be the best option for my needs and it works great. I got it when I moved from the country to an apartment in the city, with bad tasting water. After months of researching reverse osmosis, distillation, and other gravity and water pressure filters, I decided on this one and I'm glad I did.

Our water supplies are becoming increasingly more and more toxic as time goes by. Farms are using stronger chemicals each year as weeds and insects adapt to it and cities actually add chemicals like chlorine and fluoride which over the long term cause medical and mental disorders. A filter like this, when paired with the fluoride filters, is great at removing toxins.

This was not hard to setup, just follow the instructions closely and make sure wing nuts are tightened hard enough to prevent leaking. Be sure to setup the filters before going camping with it, as it requires water pressure to prime the filters. After setup make sure you run water through it a few times to clear any loose dust from manufacturing.

Pros:
- Water tastes great, even at room temperature. None of the chemical taste from the tap! Great for coffee and tea.
- No complex setup or plumbing needed.
- Inexpensive in the long run compared to other systems. Main filter lasts a long time.
- No electricity needed, can be used anywhere and is great for emergencies when clean water may be scarce.
- Black activated charcoal filter removes a lot more than other inexpensive filters/pitchers, also can remove fluoride with optional add-on filters.
- Leaves beneficial minerals in water.
- Used by red cross and other disaster relief groups
- Stainless steel design looks good and will last a long time.

Cons:
- Not instant or convenient as faucet mounted filters, needs to be refilled. I refill it every other day, not a issue for just me. If you have 2 or more people you may want a bigger one.
- Design could be more efficient, spigot is about an inch up from the bottom so you can't get all the water out of the tank using it but as long as you rotate water enough to keep the bottom filled it no a problem.
- Should come with base spigot is low on it so it can't fill things in the middle of a table, I keep mine on the edge of the counter.
- Can't see water level, you can get the optional meter but I just fill when water doesn't come out as fast.
- Setup, cleaning, and replacing filters is not fool proof just make sure to follow instructions closely.

Overall I think this is a wise choice for those wanting purify water to get rid of bad taste, bacteria, viruses, and toxins. There are many less expensive systems and more expensive full house solutions but this offers a good balance and has the bonus of being good for emergency situations. The size is perfect if you're alone at a apartment but with two or more people I'd recommend getting the bigger models.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Value 3D TV with plenty of features!, June 4, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I've had this TV for almost 2 weeks and I am very pleased with it. Keep in mind I rated this TV based on value not on picture quality. The 3d picture is stunning and works very well, the passive display does mean it cuts down the resolution while in 3d mode, but given it's flicker free and very inexpensive that's not a big deal breaker. The glasses are lightweight, battery-less, and inexpensive. Those wanting to buy must understand that this is and economy TV, meaning that its primary focus is value for your buck, It won't rival the picture quality of the new 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio led TVs. Being under $700 puts it at a price that with its specifications and features rival similar 2d CCFL LCD TVs. It does lack 2d to 3d like sets that cost at least twice as much. Overall I think this is a tremendous value, especially for those buying a TV anyway, you get a good 2d TV with the option of using 3d.

Pros:
-Under $700!
-3d is great, no flickering or having expensive glasses to charge or break, you can use Real-D glasses you get free at the movies.
-Great with ps3 for playing 3d blu-ray movies, 3d MPO picture viewing(works with 3ds pictures), and gaming(3d adds a lot more to gaming than it does movies).
-Wifi and apps- Surprised Vizio include both wifi and apps at this price. Pandora, Netflix, Amazon Video, and much more are available.
-Full function remote- Not only has tv functions and a qwerty keyboard, but also supports CEC for controlling hdmi devices(ps3 control works great for bluray playback and menu navigation).
-Ample amount of settings to change- Changing the picture to your liking is easy, also has a game setting to ensure you get lag free play when gaming.

Cons:
-3d up and down viewing angle is limited and slight cross talk when a very bright color overlaps a a very dark background.
-3d resolution is cut in half. In order to work with the lightweight polarized glasses every other horizontal line of pixels is polarized differently. This means in 3d mode each eye gets a 1920 x 540 resolution image, when displaying full HD 3d most won't be able to tell much of a difference. This is also not a big deal for this reason, 3d Blurays are the only content I know of that output full 1080p 3d at this time. The PS3, due to processing limitations, cuts games down to 720p when in 3d, current internet and cable streaming send half of full 3d by squeezing 2 images into one 2d hd stream.
-Lacks backlight uniformity of leds/plasma, Uses CCFLs which causes a slight brightness banding effect that is noticeable on solid and panning backgrounds. I'm not overly picky, but a perfectionist will likely want another set.
-No 2d to 3d conversion.
-Sound does lack richness and bass of a external system, does fine for my small room but those with a big room may want to invest in a sound system.

I gave it a 5 out of 5 not because it produces a perfect picture, but because it is a great value and meets all my expectations. It has the potential to be the best selling 3d TV this year. Keep in mind while 3d is the main reason people will by this, 3d is just an extra feature not a mandate and it is still a good 2d TV to buy in case you want 3d in the future. Back to 3d Gran Turismo 5!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great protection, hard to remove on the go, May 1, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Case fits well and provides a good amount of protection and is very light. Gives case a good grip, haven't dropped it yet. Isn't too grippy, so it is easy yo take out of your pocket. I found the clip to add too much bulk and don't use it. I might of used it on and off but the part that it clips onto requires you to remove the case to switch with the blank.

The case is a pain to get off. If my phone crashes and I need a battery reset you need to have a coin or keys handy to pry it off in a corner. When I take it off I have to be careful not to pull to hard or the case may break. Some of the locking parts can be stubborn to get apart.

Update 6-21
After having this 2 months I can say it is well worth it. My old phone would sometimes slip out of my pocket when sitting. Never had that happen, glad since a smartphone is worse to lose. Now that its worn it feels even more solid. Never use the clip, too much of a bother. Would be nice to have a flush stand that comes out of the case.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Tech Demo, OK game, May 1, 2011
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great game for getting a taste of the 3DS's capabilities. Having only only one medium sized level don't expect it to be very long. There is quite a bit of challenge especially if trying to get 3 stars, which can be frustrating in the higher difficulty levels. The 3d is great, very interesting to see things in front of your character that would be blocked in 2d.

I bought this with the $25 credit because I was not interested in the other release games and wanted to try out the 3d. The free flight mode is 2 minutes long which is great for letting friends try it out.

Pros,
Great 3D
Good graphics
Fun challenges
3 types of flying

Cons,
one level
more of a demo than a full game
short

This review is from: Angry Birds (Ad-Free) (App)
The optimus v is an entry level android phone. While this app still can be sluggish for big levels, the ads caused it to slow down to a halt making it unplayable. Now that the ads are gone it runs much better!
