Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The best Gaming monitor overall in the market currently but it's not flawless, you need to know what you are getting yourself into before clicking that buy button
Pros :
1- 2560x1440p that happens to be IPS with GSYNC+Flicker free Monitor+144hz (Amazing)
2- Superior AG Coating compared to only other monitor that offers similair features currently (ASUS ROG SWIFT)
3- The Lag is almost as good as the fastest TN panels currently in the market (This is a huge, since this is an IPS monitor)
4- It's the First IPS with ULMB, the first ips with 1440p+144hz (officially without overclocks) the first actual gaming IPS monitor with Gsync
5- No pixel inversion which is good (Super annoying on my asus ROG Swift)
6- No overshoot issues (The rog Swift does has issues there)

Cons :
1- IPS Glow on the button right corner (not noticeable though while gaming expect in dark areas)
2- Bad build quality (I bought 3 of these monitors , 1 of them had multiple dead pixels and one had massive bleeding, 1 was perfect)
3- Expensive, sure some might say it's worth the price (I Agree but i expect high quality and no dead pixels at that price at least)
4- Only 1 Input (Display port "which is the limitation of the Gsync)
5- ULMB Available on 100HZ max (The Asus Rog Swift can do it 120HZ)
6- No 3D Vision (Asus Rog Swift can do 3D)

My Calibration settings
eColor mode User /Brightness 24 /Contrast 50 / Gamma 2.2 / Color Temp User / RGB 50, 45, 46 ( I used TFTCentral Settings )

Basically this monitor lets you play games at 2560x1440 with 144hz (High resolution+frame rate) plus you get to enjoy IPS screen (superior colors+view angles) with Flicker free monitor (wont get Headache) + Nvidia GSYNC (No screen tearing or stutter or extra lag that usually happens when you use Vsync instead of Gsync) all while still using light AG coating so text wont be blurry (like the Asus Swift) , if you hate blur too you can use ULMB which does reduce the blur however sadly you can't use Gsync+ULMB so i only use GSYNC for now (I hate tearing+stutter more than blur so pick your poison)

The gaming experience with this monitor is really amazing and i highly recommend it but make sure you buy it from a place with a good return policy since the build quality is not that high for this monitor (or at least the first shipment is until they fix the build issues)

Now regrading other Monitors, if you use AMD Cards you can't use Gsync, Asus will release a monitor next month or so that is almost identical to this monitor (same panel) but use freesync instead

I'm using triple monitor setup perfect monitor on the middle, dead pixels one on the left and did replacing the one with the bleeding

Happy Gaming :P i hope my fast review at 4:00 AM was helpful to you guys and girls ~

Small UPDATE : Changed rating to 3/5 instead of 4/5 After full month of use this monitor (when you get a good one) is 100% the best monitor i have ever used, also i got my third monitor back, the returned monitor got multiple dead pixels........ seriously acer this is so annoying, they should check their monitors before shipping them, 800 box and i get a monitor with 7 dead pixels and in the middle of the screen :/ Will return the third monitor again and see how it goes meh

5.0 out of 5 stars Western Digital 4TB Review, December 6, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
4TB, fast and quite, bought 6 of these (3 I'll use + 3 identical back ups) all of them working flawlessly so far
Not much to say about it if you are familiar with the previous my book hard drives, being USB 3 you get around 110MB transfer speed for big files like movies and such and 60MB~ when transforming smaller files (Pictures/data/etc)

5.0 out of 5 stars Western Digital 4TB Review, December 6, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
First let me make this clear, This hard drive is faster than the previous 2TB Black, it's MUCH more quite and less noisy than the previous blacks but it's not as fast as the seagate 3TB which does use 3 1TB plates, this 4TB Black use 5x 800GB plates

Before you buy it though ask yourself do you need 4TB "Right now" because currently this hard drive come at a premium price with no competition (WD bought Hitachi this year so their 4TB belongs to them too) WD basically got monopoly on the 4TB 7200RPM market currently and that's why it does cost 3x more than the "Faster" seagate 3TB 7200RPM hard drive, if you can wait a while do that because Seagate will release 4TB 7200rpm next year

Reading speed
WD 4TB Black speed = 127MB Average
WD 2TB Black speed = 115MB Average
Seagate 3TB Speed = 152MB Average
WD Green 3TB is about 96MB average

As you see, if you prefer faster speed + better value for your money there are better options, for me personally i went for the black 4TB because I'm a professional and reliability is super important (Specially for a 4TB drive you don't want a 4TB drive to die even if you does back it up) WD black drives are known for being reliable and WD does offer 5 years warranty for it.

This drive is great for my use, plenty of space, fast and quite (compared to other blacks which is too noisy)

My only Con is why i only have access to 3.6TB, where did my 400GB GO ????? (/Sarcasm) can't really find a con on this drive besides its price i guess.

5.0 out of 5 stars didn'r work first but got it fixed duo motionjoy issue, July 5, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Initially everything worked EXPECT the controller can never sync up, after some research i discovered what was the issue.

I had previously installed "motionjoy" after deleting it everything worked flawlessly

You must delete motionjoy PLUS do this step for it to work.

"Navigate to Control Panel > Device manager > Microsoft Common Controller For Windows Class > Motioninjoy Virtual Xinput Device For Windows."
Don't click uninstall from here, but instead right click and then choose "properties"
Next select the "driver" tab at the top, then at the bottom choose "uninstall", then in the new window that opens place a tick in the box to "delete the driver software for this device", then click OK and you are done, it should now be gone"

After doing that it worked without any issues and never losed sync.

5.0 out of 5 stars Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Mini Review, July 3, 2012
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this game without expecting much from it as a "game" besides revisiting/hearing Final fantasy music, i was blown away by how good it's actually as a game, it's fun to play and it can get REALLY hard sometimes which is fine with me, basically there are 5 tracks for each final fantasy (FF1 to FF13) you get the Opening/Ending tracks for each game plus 3 more songs, the game is already out in japan and it did get TON of DLC songs so i expect that there will be a lot of FF Songs DLC sooner or later for the American/Europe version of the game.

Be warned though, the game use a lot of Cutscenes as a background video during the levels, for example playing the FF9 Ending track basically shows you the ENDING cutscene video, i have played and finished every single FF Game, so they can't possibly ruin anything for me, but if you played few FF and still waiting to play many other FFs there will be a lot of spoilers for you in this game.

Basically if you are a final fantasy fan who does enjoy the FF Music then this is a must have !, I'll leave you with this quote from Nobuo Uematsu himself which he posted in his twitter after trying the game.

"I played Theatrhythm Final Fantasy for the first time today. Not too shabby! As I remembered various things from the past 20 years, I was reduced to tears. FF music fans should definitely play it. Won't you cry with me?"

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of time plus WARNNING for digital version customers, March 15, 2012

I will make this short, many others already reviewed ME3 and it's a great game, BUT

It's like a bad Roller Coaster, its a great ride, until you get to the end and puke
Or the titanic, Great ride until you hit the iceberg and sink.

That is basically mass effect 3 and read below to understand why, just remember this friendly advice, "Stay away from ME3"

It's clear the game was not complete and rushed to get released, the ending was total mess/answers nothing/solve nothing and there was no conclusion neither anyone knows what happened really, the developers notes (Released in application "mass effect final hours") make it clear that they were starting to create ME3 ending in NOVEMBER and had no idea what to do, they admit they were limited by time and scraped ton of things because it was hard to put ingame, they will probably ask for a $$ DLC to give you the ending, honestly stay away until at least this issue is fixed

Another issue is the "Must be online to play Mass Effect 3 single player" yes single player that was not a typo (Only effects digital users)
If your save file ever used the DLC "from ashes" you wont be able to load that single player save file unless you connect to EA servers to confirm that you own the installed dlc, it happens every time you want to play single player, most people in bioware forums are effected by this, some are not so we really don't know what is the cause and bioware basically doesn't care to address this issue yet (They are too busy to damage control what their ending caused)

If you use other inputs this projector works fine
However using the HDMI input it's so picky, works fine with my desktop but refuse to receive hdmi input from 2 different laptops and 2 playstation 3, here is he trick though sometimes it works randomly and sometimes it return to being unable to find the playstation 3

I can plug the same laptops/playstations to 4 LCDs at home and they work flawlessly (basically plug and play) but with this projector it's luck based, not happy with it, after researching only it seems that I'm not the only one so buy it at your own risk if you want it.

4.0 out of 5 stars NEX 5N vs NEX 7 vs NEX C3 vs other Mirrorless Cameras Mini Review, September 1, 2011
Update : Changed rating to 4 stars instead of 5, Original review remain below, So why i did that? it's because the video capture "audio" quality is awful if you shoot in silent environment (shooting a baby or at home with no noise around) the camera does a lot of UNAVOIDABLE annoying clicking sounds nonstop if you don't use a tripod, every NEX 5N is effected by that, until SONY fix this issue i don't recommend this camera for anyone who plan to take a lot of casual videos with it

Update 2 : Sony finally admitted the flaw of the issue and they offer a fix/upgrade according to them here : [...]

(Original review) : First of all i just gotta say that I'm extremely satisfied with the NEX 5n, If you are like me you will spend hours/days researching about Camera samples/reviews/etc before buying a new Camera, problem is many websites are biased or contradict each other, many fans of a system whether it's Micro Four thirds/Sony NEX series and others might say our system is the best but in reality none of these 2 are the best, M43 can be the best for you or NEX series can be the best for you, some even prefer Fuji X100 etc there are plenty of mirrorless cameras right now, i have just gathered all the facts about each system for you here so the final call is yours and i wont be biased i assure you my fellow photographers :)

*NEX 5n advantages over NEX 7 (I will speak about NEX 5n vs M43 and NEX5n vs previous Sony NEX Cameras in a second)

1-If portability and size is your biggest concern NEX 5n is actually smaller and fits much easier in your pocket, It's also lighter

2-Price wise, It cost about half the price of NEX7, and cameras advance so fast now, Investing in a body is not the best option if your budget is limited, Invest in better lenses is much better idea, like the Zeiss 24mm F1.8 E-Mount lens, you will get better results with NEX5n+CZ 24mm over NEX7+Kit lens, so if your budget is limited this can be a huge advantage

3-The external Viewfinder of the NEX5n have 2 advantages over the one in NEX 7 first it can be titled, so you can shoot while looking at your feet instead of looking at what is front of you (good for stealth shots) and the second it's more comfortable to use in my honest opinion because it's placed in much better position

4-Sensor Quality, Ignore the Mega pixels marketing race, Sony 16MP sensor is being used by Nikon D7000 which is a 1200 dollar camera yet the Sony NEX5n use an advanced 16mp sensor (better than the one in D7000) While the NEX7 got a 24mp it really lose to NEX5n performance in high ISO SO if HIGH ISO is a huge issue for you NEX 5n will win this round (It doesn't mean NEX7 performance is bad, It's just the NEX5n perform better at High ISO)

5-The TouchScreen, First thing in your mind now is properly Touchscreen = Toy camera and useless, Well it's not and here is why, You can access ISO/Shutter/UI/etc much faster with the touch screen, we are talking about cameras with bare minimum set of buttons here the NEX7 got 1 more button only over the NEX5n, you can customize your buttons as you wish too, That's not the only advantage of the touchscreen, Sony is using a new "track focus" you can basically touch your target on the screen and he will be AF Tracked, much faster than moving to track a target via none-touch methods, the Focus track combined with the touch screen deliver amazing results really.

6-NEX5n max ISO is 25.600 and MAX 16.000 ISO for NEX7 (for those who care about maximum ISO available)

*NEX 7 advantages over NEX 5n

1-24MP Sensor, this can be an advantage depends on your use, Do you do a lot of prints and low ISO? then this is the best option for you (over NEX5n) while NEX5n beat it at high iso, the NEX7 beat the NEX5n in low ISO, you will get more details, easier to crop/edit your photos due the higher details.

2-NEX5n External viewfinder cost 350box.... so you are already near NEX7 price Territory if you plan to get NEX5n EVF

3-With the NEX5n you can't use an external flash+EVF at the same time because both use the same propriety input slot, the NEX7 has a hot shoe (For Sony flashes) and Built in EVF so you can use both at the same time, even if you don't plan to use the hot shoe for a flash there is a built in flash which the NEX5n lack

4-The NEX7 got this new TRI dial UI (there are 3 dials on the NEX7 versus 1 only for the NEX5n, there is a second virtual dial though in the touchscreen but i don't count it as real dial) The UI for the NEX7 will be more professional while the NEX5n UI is mostly for amateurs,

So in Short it depends on the advantages of each camera, NEX7 might be better for you, however for me even after ignoring the price different a side the NEX5n is the better camera for me due the better high iso performance and portability mainly (I got access to a DSLR when needed but i want a smaller system for certain uses) if you want a more professional UI/hot shoe for flash/shoot in low ISO mostly and you want an EVF the NEX7 sounds like the better deal

About the NEX C3 ignore it and get NEX 5n because for little more you can get much better camera NEX 5n
-Touchscreen and option to use EVF (Nex C3 CANT use EVF)
-Faster AF+shutter lag speeds /AVCHD 2.0 1080p60 28MBPS video instead of 720p30
-AF track via touchscreen is amazing if you shoot kids, it will keep them on focus always
-IR R.control / 10FPS which is much faster than nex C3
-Better HIGH iso performance and range/ Much better Grip / Better battery life

NEX5n get better sharper corners with any previous lenses compared to the older NEX3/5, sony have used Offset microlenses for the sensor so the older 16mm lenses which was soft in the corners will be sharper now and using manual lenses will get you better results with NEX5n over older NEX5 in the corners, which is similar to latest Lecia high end cameras, in short if you use manual lenses upgrading is a must your pictures will look much better believe me i have already tested it and the results are improved over my older NEX 5

Shutter sound is quieter now when shooting if you set up electronic shutter through the menu, there is full manual control for video now which is not available in the old NEX 3/5, AF Micro Adjustment for up to 30 a-mount lenses with the LA-EA2, plus Auto-Correction of chromatic aberration/Vignetting/distortion with all Native E-mount lenses which can be turned on/off via menu settings

About NEX VS M43 i already own EPL1 and i will properly upgrade to EPL3 soon, i will not talk about M43 vs Sony cameras bodies because the advantage is clearly "mostly" for the NEX5n (bigger Dynamic range/ISO/etc)

Sony NEX lenses have 2 issues as of September 2011
1-They are limited in numbers specially compared to M43
2-Most of them are made with no portability factor in mind whatsoever

I will speak more about lenses now, If you want an ultra wide angle zoom lens for the E-MOUNT it doesn't exist (That's my favorite lens) with the M43 you actually got more than 1 Utra wide angle lenses so not only you can get 1 but you can chose which to chose, if you want a fast pancake? none exist for the Sony E-mount lenes for now and none in the future roadmap sadly, the only small sony lens that exist is the 16mm F2.8 but it's too wide for a main lens for most people and it's not as sharp as i like until stopped down so not very friendly to use at night, the Panasonic 20mm F1.7 is great lens (not the best but for Size/performance it's great) if you want a pancake zoom? this might sound crazy but Panasonic is making a Pancake zoom lens with image stabilization too and so on,
While it seems in theory that Sony can just release smaller lenses and win the best of both worlds, it doesn't seems like this is a concern for Sony right now, their 2012 lenses road map include 3 more huge zoom lenses and zero prime let alone a pancake lenses, the Sony upcoming 50mm F1.8 OSS while being very sharp from the samples i have seen (sharper than nikon/canon 50mm primes) it's actually BIGGER than both nikon and canon 50mm lenses for their DSLR which is puzzling to create a tiny body and never release tiny lenses for it at least as an option for those who rather use smaller lenses, Sony Officially unlocked their E-Mount to other lenses companies though so anyone can make Native E mount lens if they want, i only knows of Sigma upcoming E-Mount lens which is 30mm F2.8 small prime

So in short again depends on your use you might prefer m43 because of lenses choices over NEX, i can't get rid of m43 because wide shots is a MUST for me and none is available for sony as of now.
About Samsung Mirrorless system, while the sensor size is the same as sony it's not as good as sony sensor (not even close) Samsung support is nowhere near sony or M43 too so I'm not interested in it

For manual lenses users NEX offer the best possibilities for you, you can adapt almost every lens using an adapter for manual focus lenses, using the Focus peaking/zoom functions make focusing a breeze and easy, the Offset microlenses is a huge bonus too, and lets not forget the crop factor (1.5X for NEX versus 2X for M43)

Overall i recommend NEX 5n for anyone, it's hard to find anything similar in the market for the price right now (Amazing sensor/small camera/tilt LCD/shoots 1080p60 video/touchscreen/easy to use/etc), it does beat any Entry/mid range nikon/canon DSLR "IF" you are type of a person who just sticks to the zoom kit lens, NEX 5N got a better zoom Kit lens and the better sensor.

I hope my thoughts about the mirrorless market for now was fair enough and i hope that my review was helpful :)

1.0 out of 5 stars VERTEX 3 BSOD Blue screen of death should be the official Name, June 1, 2011
Length:: 0:23 Mins

I get BSOD everyday with VERTEX 3 which is a story that VERTEX 3 Users share, after a full month of OCZ being in denial about the issue they finally did admit that the BSOD is a serious issue they are facing right now, they had to admit it because everyday there are few threads about the BSOD issue in their forums EVEN after they try to delete/edit/ban users who talk about the BSOD it was out of control so they were forced to knowledge the issue , check every forum+newegg/etc everyone is effected by the BSOD including Agility 3 users, these drives are not compatible with Intel SATA 3 Specs and that's why they are getting daily BSOD you might be okay with none SATA 3 port but whats the point of buying Fast SSD if you are limited with SATA 2 speed if you want it to be reliable.

People told me to stay away from OCZ due their past scandals and scams (google it) but i didn't listen, i couldn't resist those reviews who pretty much said this SSD was the best and etc, never again, if you want good a SSD get M4 (C400)/C300 since it's cheaper now or Intel 510 series (Sadly intel 510 is not as fast but it's very reliable, C400 is pretty close speed wise to VERTEX 3) those SSDs are very similar in performance during real world use, you can only tell the different between Vertex 3 and other fast SSDs by benchmarks or the BSOD obviously.

The BSOD happens on average once or twice a day, if you use your computer 1-2hours a day then you properly wont notice it, but if you keep your computer on all the time (to have msn messenger open or steam downloading game etc) prepare to wake up next morning with a BSOD.

OCZ will not refund you your money and will offer you RMA at best, the moment you buy it you are stuck with them, even the RMA drives had the same issue btw.

vertex 3 FIRMWARE can not be updated on a laptop with a single HD Slot or a boot drive, in order to update the firmware you must have it plugged directly to a motherboard (USB wont work) and it have to be none-boot drive (also the firmware does not fix the BSOD anyway)

Vertex 3 is now on the market for 2 months (the none-max iops) and it still have the BSOD issue, if you want to waste your money get these unreliable drives or if you want to beta test things for free As of June 2011 a solution does not exist, OCZ right now want users to beta test it "literally" and courage people to send them their setup hoping to find a solution since they lie clearly and say "we can not recreate the issue with our setups in order to damage control the issue i guess unless they have 2 computers in their lab"

0/10 Product stay away from it and do yourself a favor, if you have this drive as your boot drive it's defective imo, should not be allowed to be sold to begin with and get pulled from the market, OCZ is doing nothing other than stealing money from people and they know it, This product have a serious issue and a total recall should take in place just like what intel did with their Sandy bridge recall but intel cares about their rep unlike OCZ.

Don't complain if you bought this drive and was getting BSOD everyday. and trust me when i say this, i have tried everything to let these drives work and so many other people, hundreds of reported cases in OCZ official forums and ZERO Case solved they even have a sticky topic regarding the issue but offer no solution and ocz still says we can not recreate the issue with our OCZ computers.

1.0 out of 5 stars Vertex 3 vs Vertex 3 MAX IOPS VS other SSDs Mini Review, April 28, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Length:: 0:23 Mins

Update : (My original review is not deleted you can read it below)

Don't bother buying this SSD and I'll explain why , loading in games were VERY fast, computer boot to desktop in 5 seconds after Bios screen "literally" after i have optimized everything of course, reading+writing speed was superfast etc performance wise this ssd was a beast, but then the unexpected happens

BSOD "Blue screen of death which will force your computer to get stuck/force shutdown" this SSD is not reliable at ALL in the long run, yes if you use it for 1-2hours you might get lucky and not get the BSOD but YOU WILL get BSOD guaranteed if you keep your pc on a lot, (my power settings is set to never turn off HD and everything is optimized trust me, i have followed step by step guides by OCZ and did troubleshooting with their forums+customer support for a week and the issue still remain EVEN AFTER i did RMA the first drive, i have tried the SSDs on more than 1 computer and the issue remains) so far after 3 week of use i usually get 1 BSOD a day on average, only 2 days i did not get BSOD (but again some days i got 2 BSOD in the same day) tons of people are posting about their BSOD in the official forums and OCZ answer is "RMA it because we can not recreate the issue in our lab" they want to keep you in the RMA loop hoping maybe they fix the issue later on maybe via firmware or to let your return window pass since RMA takes a while, their last 2.06 update did not help much either, it have removed the random daily freeze and replaced it with more BSOD

To make it short for you.... OCZ rushed the drive to the market, they want you to BETA Test it, you are stuck with them the moment you buy it, they will keep you in their "RMA or wait for firmware Loop" this SSD is a big "AVOID IT" for main drive (OS+Programs/etc) it will annoy you to no end and a solution atm as of may 26 does not exist neither OCZ admit it yet even when plenty of people are reporting the same issue, they will always try to blame your other hardware or software for the BSOD and never about their own SSD

If you want to be a beta tester go ahead and buy it, OCZ got no solution to offer atm, they are basically selling a product that works 90% of the time so some users wont notice it (those who use their computer 1-2hours a day) if you leave your computer +5hours a day or on all the time prepare to a daily BSOD, Until OCZ offer a solution this SSD get a 1 star from me "(would give it 0 if i can), replacing the SSD with another brand SSD or HD stops the BSOD so it's not a hardware issue from my computer, OCZ have reached a new low where they actually close threads when people complain about the BSOD, their excuse for closing some BSOD threads? not "everyone" is complaining about the bsod issue and if it was an error from their side (like buggy firmware) everyone should have the issue ! their solution is RMA your SSD if you are not happy, they refuse to admit the flaw in their SSD so don't expect any serious improvements anytime soon

PS : if you plan to use this SSD for a laptop, make sure you have access to a desktop first to update the firmware or a laptop with 2 HD slots , you can not update the firmware to 2.06 if it was your main drive (external usb etc wont work too) you need to have it linked directly to a motherboard, and make sure you have SATA3 because this drive is slow on SATA 2 (compared to many other SATA 2 SSDs)

(My Original review)

If you want a full Review about Vertex 3 there are plenty of those online, I just wanted to clear something up here.
(Update : Benchmarks below at the bottom)

Regular Vertex3 120GB = 4KB Random Read 20,000 IOPS/4KB Random Write 60.000 IOPS
""MAX"" Vertex3 120GB = 4KB Random Read 35,000 IOPS/4KB Random Write 75.000 IOPS

Regular Vertex3 240GB = 4KB Random Read 40,000 IOPS/4KB Random Write 60.000 IOPS
""MAX"" Vertex3 240GB = 4KB Random Read 55,000 IOPS/4KB Random Write 65.000 IOPS
(120GB Max got faster Write IOP yep also the Vertex 3 240GB MAX IOPS Max Write speed dropped from 520MB/s to 500MB/s)

Everyone should know that The only difference between the regular Vertex 3 and this MAX IOPS Vertex 3 edition is that MAX IOPS Edition got faster 4KB random write performance 75,000 IOPS (The regular one got 60.000 IOPS only) and it also have faster 4KB Random Read 35.000 IOPS versus Vertex 3 Vanilla at 20.000 IOPS

4KB Random speed is actually much more important than Sequential Access Read/Write (Sequential speed are important mainly if you are moving or copying very LARGE files which is rare to do to be honest when we are dealing with a limited 120GB storage)

What matters for real world use is the 4KB Random speed so the increase from 60.000 IOPS TO 75.000 Write should increase performance in theory but this speed boost wont be noticed by the average desktop user, where it actually helps is when you benchmark or if you are what i call "SUPER MULTITASKING USER"

Keep in mind that Random 4KB READ speed is also increased, The random read speed increase is massive and make it now almost as high as the 240GB regular Vertex 3, it seems that OCZ decided to release the max version because many reviews actually did point out that the 120GB Vertex 3 is not as fast as the 240GB version !, 4KB Random speed is the most important thing in your SSD imo (and reliability) , even with all those improvements I'd say if you find the regular Vertex 3 cheaper you should get it over the MAX IOPS Version unless you multitask heavily, I actually bought the MAX version for 50 box less than the regular version (Vertex 3 prices are going over MSRP right now due high demand)

If you want the BEST version of Vertex 3 then MAX IOPS is better than the Vanilla version that's for sure, however you shouldn't pay much more for this version over the regular version imo unless you need the extra speed or if the price difference was not much between the max and vanilla version, pick the cheaper one and you will be happy about it.

I'm happy with Vertex 3, I would not recommend the intel 510 series due the much slower 4k random speeds (But intel got the most reliable SSDs so far it seems plus Intel 520 are already leaked and will get released at Q3/Q4 2011, intel gonna increase the 4k random speed with 520 SSDs) the M4(C400) and C300 SSDs are solid drives with fast 4K random speed that is worth a look if you want cheaper but good options.

I hope my mini review were helpful :)
