This review is from: The 5th Wave (Kindle Edition)
This book had me enraptured from the first chapter. Even though this is written for a teen audience, it's still appealing to adults. The action sequences are well written and easy to follow. The romance feels real and not contrived. And thankfully there is no stereotypical love triangle. Of course the idea of an alien invasion is unbelievable, the reactions of the victims is not. The writer effortlessly invites us to imagine ourselves in this world and ask how would we survive.

I only discovered this novel today, but I couldn't put it down. The novel is at some points haunting and unsettling, but at others it is an inspiring story of the human spirit. I'm a fan of post apocolyptic and dystopian literature and I was not disappointed. The characters are realistic and flawed. This story drew me in and would not let go! Highly recommended
