1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of Garbage, January 15, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Sorry this is a piece of garbage. I printed out maybe 100 sheets max and I had to replace the ink in less than a month. By the second month the printer started acting up and wasn't able to print properly. This junk isn't worth more than $5.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and Inspiring Autobiography, December 25, 2015

This review is from: From This Moment On (Paperback)
This was an excellent book! I don't know where to begin. It was so well done and Shania Twain did an incredible job. She's very detailed and it feels as if she covers most everything throughout the trajectory of her life from birth to early 40's, even though that's impossible, but it is jam packed and layered with tons of insight and detail running about 400 pages or so. The first 1/3 of the book are the struggles in her life pre-fame. The abusive violent household she was raised in and being dirt poor to the point where they wouldn't know if they would have a meal that day. The second 1/3 of the book is the rise of her career and how that just kept getting bigger and bigger. The final 1/3 is the taking a break from the career and witnessing the crumbling of her marriage and the discovery of a new love.

I'm not doing this book justice with this, but all I can say is that I loved it. It was entertaining and moving. I was a little intimidated by how big and detailed it was, so I decided to take it one step at a time and just savor it slowly. I would pick it up and read a few pages to a chapter or two. I'd put it down and pick it up on another day and read a few more pages or chapter. Over the course of four months I was reading this book. Dragging it on like that made me feel the longevity of her life to date and all the experiences, hardships, challenges and blessings that were being bestowed to her.

It was a nice glimpse into a beautiful rags to riches story and what it's truly like from the perspective of someone who is well-known. You don't get that impression though. She's down to earth, fun and incredibly hard working. You feel like she's just like anybody else, but this great stuff in her career is happening and people are recognizing her, but she's still the same person she was before the fame. She really breaks all of that down and then you feel for her and what she was going through with the dissolve of her marriage due to infidelity on the husband's part. I think aside from the career bit, many would be able to relate to her troubled childhood and the heartbreak in love. The career fame stuff is interesting to read what it's like from the perspective of the famous person and how she's just like anybody else, but not because people know her, but she doesn't know them. I loved all of that stuff too and what it's like to make an album, get a contract, and do all the promo stuff, the touring, and the grueling hard work that ultimately drained her as it would anybody. This was a fascinating and interesting read. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would read it again at another date in the future.

2.0 out of 5 stars Boring and disappointing, December 10, 2015
This review is from: Poltergeist (DVD)
This was a disappointment. I gave it a fair chance, but from the beginning you've got a realtor selling a home to two unemployed parents, you wonder what bank approved them. It went down hill from that point. Most of us realize that remakes will likely be bad, but sometimes they're not that bad. This one is an embarrassment. You have a great idea to work with and you make it worse. The dialogue is horrible and you can forget the scares as those border comedy. And they seemed to have picked plastic actors who have never had a day of acting work in their life. I'm sure they were paid no more than scale for this. Sam Rockwell is decent enough and is usually a great actor, but he couldn't lift this garbage out of the sewer. Watch it if you want, but don't expect much. And if you've never seen the original, don't even think about watching this. It'll give it a bad name. This movie cost $35 million and it made $95 million worldwide. This is why the studios keep churning out crap. It's because believe it or not people are paying to see it. They're making money and they did with this....somehow.

5.0 out of 5 stars These fit me just right, October 28, 2015

Clothes never fit me just right, but I took a gamble and ordered these Dark Khaki's online. I was pleasantly surprised and satisfied as they fit just perfectly. That never happens so I was happy to hear that. I find they work for most any occasion whether it be a professional atmosphere or an evening out when a pair of jeans wouldn't be acceptable. Love these so much that I've just ordered another color.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent films! Lousy packaging., October 3, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Five stars for all four classic Vacation movies. I never get tired of these films. They're fun and silly and always promise a good time. The packaging of this is less than stellar though. They could've done a better job. The cover of the package is basically disguising that this is from the "Four Film Favorite" series. Most of those sets run from about $8-$12, which makes this Vacation set a bit overpriced at $25 for what you're getting. There are 2 discs in this. You have to flip the disc over to play one of the other movies. It should've been broken out into four discs. I think the movies deserve that. They also should've remastered the films at this point and added a hefty amount of bonus features which I'm sure exist somewhere. Still five stars for the movies themselves. I'd give the packaging two stars. This was put together very lazily, but since this is the only set that exists with all four films, you take what you can get.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice smell that relaxes you, September 28, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This stuff was great and had a nice sweet aroma. The essential oils being used in this were not listed anywhere, but it was a fruity relaxing smell. The bottle says it contributes to "calming" and this was true. Whenever I would use it in the diffuser, it would relax me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Insightful self help teeny tiny book, September 20, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
First off I should warn potential buyers of this book that this is a super tiny book. I mean it is so small that you can fit it in your pocket and forget that it's there. Granted, it does indicate it's tiny in the 'product dimensions' category on this page, but who truly looks at that? I'd say this book is about 2 inches by 2 inches. Now that I've got that out of the way. The content is full of valuable and insightful self-help motivating stuff for anyone looking to receive that extra push when it comes to business or going after anything you want. Because this book is bite sized, it's small enough to take with you anywhere and thumb through when you're having a lull in your day or waiting in line for something. The book has little motivational and empowerment words such as, "When the achiever achieves, it's not a plateau, it's a beginning. Achievers move forward at all times - they have anticipation for their next deal and have another goal immediately lined up."

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome album with personality, fun lyrics and great hooks, August 13, 2015
This review is from: Up! (Audio CD)
I've been listening to this since it came out in 2002. Whenever I need some Shania Twain, I always seem to reach for this one for some reason. Perhaps it's because I really do like it! It's got great hooks, harmonies and melodies that lift your spirit and keep your toes tapping. It comes with 2-discs that have the exact same songs on them. The differences are one is a red disc that is full of the "pop" sounding version of the songs, while the other is the green disc that is full of the "country" sounding version of the songs. I tend to mostly reach for the green disc, the country version. This album is jammed with 19 great tracks that I never tire of from my favorites like "Up", "Nah", "Forever and Always", "Thank you Baby", "Wanna Get To Know You" to "I Ain't Goin' Down".

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Essential Oil Diffuser, July 19, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This essential oil diffuser was easy to set up and get started. It took less then ten minutes to read the instructions, plug the diffuser in, pour in the water, add the essential oil, and turn it on. The essential oils are sold separately so you'll need to have that on hand if you order this and want to use it right away. You fill the diffuser up with water to the maximum line, add a few drops or more of the essential oil of your choice, and then turn the diffuser on. There are two buttons on the diffuser. The left button turns on the color lamp which changes from one color to the next, or you can click on the button repeatedly until you find the one color you want it to stay on. For instance, if you're using Lavendar essential oil, then perhaps change the lamp color to a violet color in order to add a sense of calm and relaxation. Or add some Sweet Orange essential oil and change the lamp color to the yellow color to add a feeling of energy and focus. The button on the right changes from green to red. The green disperses the essential oil on a timer where it runs, then shuts off, then runs again. Or you can turn it on to the red light and let it run until you shut it off manually or allow the diffuser to run on its own indefinitely. It will eventually shut off when there is little to no water left in the diffuser. This is very easy to use and depending on how much essential oil you add, it definitely fills up the room. I use this whenever I'm home.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice little lamp, July 19, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a beautiful serene little lamp. I pulled it out of the box it was shipped in, removed the protective bubble wrap from around it, cut out all the tags, plugged it in and I was good to go. Took less then five minutes. The bulb that is included is of a low wattage and not that bright. You will likely need to get a higher wattage bulb if that's a problem or get another lamp for your room. This is a great piece if you are relaxing at night and just want a low mood light. The himalayan rock formation adds some nice ambiance to any room. The lamp itself has a dimmer switch, but even on it's highest setting it's not that bright. There was nothing wrong with the lamp or the way it was packaged when I received it. I know some have mentioned that wasn't the case for them. As for it's potential health benefits, I personally haven't notice anything different from before I got the lamp and afterwards. I've had this for about a month now. You may notice positive changes as some reviewers have pointed out, but I'm just stating what I did or did not notice. It does feel and look authentic. I love it regardless of any potential health benefits or not.
