3.0 out of 5 stars Minimum Threshold of Professional Music, July 20, 2016
This review is from: Family Affair (MP3 Music)
Professional jazz. Solid playing but not much more. A couple tracks might be good scores for a movie set in NYC but beyond that, not much to recommend. Definitely not music you can listen to as it's just professional musicians playing all the right notes, nothing more.

3.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Voice, bland songs and it doesn't help that daddy is on the piano, July 19, 2016
Pleasant soft jazz album, She has a very nice voice but the songs are pretty bland and generic. Hopefully, she'll get a better showcase. Since it's a daughter-father act, It doesn't help the few sexy tracks about "spending the night together" :-) Again, she seems to have a really nice voice, so hopefully she can build upon this ... and while I suppose dad's name included here was to help her break through the clutter in terms of marketing, I think she should strike out on her own. Dad is just holding her back.

3.0 out of 5 stars Professional Background Music That Literally Fulfills the Minimum Definition of Music, July 19, 2016
This review is from: Song For Anna (Vinyl)
Pleasant innocuous background music - guaranteed to offend no one and 100% professional, it never feels cheap but it's pretty generic and leads zero impression - kind of like a soundtrack to a Disney/Nick docu movie with no real scary highs or lows ... so if you need some music to score a G-rated kid's adventure movie, this might do the trick ...

4.0 out of 5 stars ENIGMA Is On It's Own Disc so This is Probably the Best Value Way to Get ENIGMA, May 10, 2016
Enigma comes on its own disc. So, it's not very compressed. It's no Blu Ray picture quality but it's fine - typical lower budget 35mm film and plus a 1940's movie feels more natural with film grain. There are plenty of extras making-of featurettes so it's hard to tell what's different from the much more expensive other version. The extras are grainy and lower res but it's unlikely you're going to watch those more than once - they're interesting and well done but nothing extraordinary.

The other two movies are on another disc.

4.0 out of 5 stars NOT useable out of the box for Mac users, you have to reformat it TWICE to begin to use it, April 22, 2016
Mac users note. You have to REFORMAT the drive as Fat32 (using Disk Utility) FIRST. Otherwise, it is a READ ONLY drive. Then you can reformat in a mac compatible format (GUID) and THEN you can partition the drive. You can download a utility from Seagate to do this but it's easier to spend 1-minute to reformat it as FAT32 and then reformat it for Macs (takes about another 2 minutes). Then you can partition the drive using Apple'e Disc Utility if you want. Not exactly sure why Seagate doesn't think Mac users want a drive to use out of the box.

I also have NOT successfully gotten my (Microsoft) Overdrive cloud 200GB storage - a good deal if it works. So far, I'm stuck at a blank page - presumable MS only draws the page for IE users but since there's no more IE for the Mac, not exactly sure why the page is blank so note, Mac users might NOT get the 200 GB as promised as a bonus.

There is also no power button but at least there's no giant power brick.

3.0 out of 5 stars Solid - Not Classics except for the obvious tracks, February 22, 2016
Of the Bar Lounge Classics, surprisngly the one with the most archaic title holds up the best of the Bar Lounge Classics. The clichje Indian sitar background tracks are either kept o a minimum or are actually professional instead of cliched or kitschy. Of course it helps there a couple tracks from Massive Attack and Thievery (tracks you can pick up elsewhere). Really more of 2.5 stars - solid, not great, not classics but solid.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pleasant but not classics, February 21, 2016
This review is from: Bar Lounge Classics (Audio CD)
Now, 14 years - doesn't really hold up. It's pleasant and inocuous background music - if you're some sales meeting and you need some music for drinks in Conference Room C afterwards, this will do nicely - guarantee to offend no one. Or if you're scoring a home video and need some b-roll music ... None of these hold up like classics should.

Pleasant but nothing very interesting or noteworthy except a couple tracks, Background music at best - and not very hip or interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars All great and all fun of the 1960's - jazz torch, February 20, 2016
All great and all fun of the 1960's - jazz torch, jazz swing, lounge pop, easy listening, lounge jazz and lounge swing. No bad tracks. Just hit PLAY. The track listing is a little messed up - you only get only Honeydropper track and it's a great rendition.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bacharach's Greatest Hit of the 1960's made Easy and Loungier (Because the Brilliant Originals Were Just Harshing Your Mellow), February 20, 2016
Hilarious. If you think Burt Bacharach's brilliant songs of the 1960's could use a version without vocals and more easy listening stylized, here you go. It's NOT Baroque as if these songs took place in the Bach era except for a couple tracks where that "spindley" piano takes the place of a regular piano and a tad more old school flutes but it's really 98% 1960's easy listening-lounge. It's also NOT elevator-music versions of his tracks, there is professionalism and an effort to stylize them - if you like/love lounge-easy listening of the 1960's, these are quite amusing and a fun addition to your collection,
