4.0 out of 5 stars Works, ugly cable management, no 3-pin connectors, October 3, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This 500w Power Supply has been powering my kid's gaming rig now for about 3 months with no problems. It's solid, works as advertised, and I really only have two complaints.

The first is my fault for not reading the connectors more closely; there are no 3-pin connectors. If you want to attach multiple case fans, you will need to buy an 3-pin to 4-pin adapter (assuming your fan doesn't come with one -- many do). I bought the Cooler Master 120mm 4-in-1 Value Pack , which unfortunately, does NOT come with adapters. As I said, my fault, so I'm not going to knock the supply down a star but I wanted to call it out so others don't make the same mistake.

The reason this supply gets only 4 stars instead of 5 is really because it offers no cable management features. Since the cables aren't wrapped and are fairly long, this makes tying down the cables out of the way for airflow more difficult. I wasn't expecting modular connectors, but I was surprised that the cables were not even wrapped and were just bundled together with zip ties.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fans are 3-pin, 4-pin adapters not included., October 2, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great value but be forewarned -- these are all 3-pin fans and they DO NOT come with a 4-pin MOLEX adapter. If you are buying a new Power Supply as well, just make sure you buy one that has some 3-pin connectors or you'll need to buy some adapters. Many motherboards have a spot for one or maybe two 3-pin fans and not all Power Supplies have a 3-pin connector and may only have 4-pin MOLEX connectors. If you plan to connect them directly to your motherboard, you can use something like the Syba 3 Pin Female to 2 x 3 Pin Male Y Adapter to connect two fans. Or alternately, you can use something like this 3-Pin Fan to 4-Pin Molex Connector Cable FAN-CABLE.

So I guess the "value" of the fans really depends on if you have enough 3-pin connections available. If you need to buy a bunch of $4 and $6 adapters to make this work, you might as well have spent some extra $s about bought some nice LED fans which typically come with the adapter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great look & airflow for a Budget Case, October 2, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was looking for an affordable case to build out a second gaming computer for my kids. The case does NOT come with a Power Supply and you WILL need to buy some additional fans. For building systems, I actually find this to be a positive as it provides me some desired flexibility.

You can put up to (4) additional 120mm fans into the case, so this Cooler Master 120mm Silent Case Fan 4-in-1 Value Pack - (R4-S2S-124K-GP) for $12 is a perfect complement. You will want to size your Power Supply appropriately, but I used the Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 500w Power Supply (RS500-PCARD3-US) for $40. For under $100, it's a VERY solid setup.

The case looks great and with the additional fans, airflow is MUCH better than you'll get out of anything similar for the price. I also own the Cooler Master HAF 922 Case(RC-922M-KKN3-GP) which retails for twice as much on Amazon. While the HAF 922 is absolutely the superior case, this case surprisingly holds it's own and the airflow with the additional fans is pretty similar.

That said, the case DOES lack the cable management features you will find on the higher end cases like the HAF 922. If you are good with cable ties, this isn't that big of a deal and I was able to still able to keep things pretty tight and clean with a little work. You might also find the larger CPU fans are a tight fit (but I would still expect them to fit).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great cable, better price., October 2, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is third or fourth Amazon Basics cable that I have purchased. Contrary to the advertisements of other cable manufacturers, fancy gold-plated connectors and so forth don't actually improve the quality of your sound or picture. It's nice how Amazon has several inexpensive options in various lengths. Spend your money more wisely on the things you are connecting rather than the connectors themselves. Thanks Amazon!

5.0 out of 5 stars Left & Right Scroll, June 20, 2012
Purchased this mouse from Best Buy. According to the press statement I read, I would expect this mouse to be be available sometime in July 2012 in the US through Amazon. There are going to be a lot of comparisons between this mouse and the Razer Naga series. While the Naga also has 12 side buttons, it DOES NOT have a left/right scroll on the mouse wheel. This new mouse, like the Logitech G500 and G700, has a left/right scroll. If that's as important to you as it is to me, then I would try this mouse over the Naga.

Why is the left/right scroll on the wheel useful? The Logitech software allows you to rebind every button to whatever you want. This means you can rebind these two buttons so that you can just nudge right or left with your index and middle finger and get an extra hotkey clicked. Including the twelve buttons on the side, this means this mouse has a total of 20 buttons.

4.0 out of 5 stars No issues, solid power supply, nothing fancy, February 6, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought the 600w Power Supply and after reading other reviews, I had concerns about fan noise and just wanted to report that it's quiet and appears to function properly. If you look at all the reviews where there are "problems" it appears to be less expensive 430w model.

In terms of cabling, the 600w supply has 2x PCI-E cords and will comfortably support (1) high-end graphics card. It will NOT support (2) high-end graphic cards, so you will need to look bigger (750w or more) if you are planning to go SLI.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works with HAF 922 & 200mm side fan, February 6, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The hundreds of other reviews will tell you this is a great fan. I just wanted to write a quick review to let anyone know that this fits comfortably inside the Cooler Master HAF 922 case even with the 200mm side fan installed. This is a VERY tall CPU heatsink so it might not fit in every case.

4.0 out of 5 stars How to Detach Stand to Wall Mount, February 6, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I wanted to write a quick review to offer some advice about how to remove the bottom stand in order to attach it to a VESA compliant wall or desk mount stand. When you unbox the monitor, part of the stand is attached and it's not obvious how to remove it.

To detach the stand, you need a pry tool (small flathead screwdriver or "case opener") to remove the plastic backplate of the attached stand. You can ignore the two exposed screws inside the stand -- they don't hold down the backplate. Once you have removed the backplate, the three screws you need to remove will be all exposed.

For reference, I bought two of these monitors and the Dual LCD Monitor Desk Clamp Stand to attach them to my desk. So far, so good. My only complaint is that the internal speaker monitors are a bit too quiet -- which, unfortunately, is not uncommon with LCD monitors.

5.0 out of 5 stars HAF = High Air Flow, and it's Quiet!, February 6, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great case and I am very pleased with it. For under $100, I don't think you will find a better case for airflow. I always build on a budget and the case is the one area where I always cheap out and then struggle with overheating problems because airflow sucks. Eventually, I end up spending a bundle on all these loud high RPM fans to increase airflow and then wish I had bought a better case at the start.

This case is designed with airflow in mind and those 200mm fans are HUGE and as a big bonus, very quiet. I couldn't be happier with this case. It's very well designed for airflow and, if anything, adding the optional 200mm intake fan on the side is almost overkill.

Pros:
-- Room for a very tall Heatsink AND the Optional 200mm side-fan. I bought the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 120mm CPU Cooler heatsink and Cooler Master 200mm side cooling fan with this case and they both fit perfectly fine.
-- Great for cable management. It comes with some zip ties and has plenty of room behind the motherboard to route cables.
-- Lots of airflow, very quiet. It comes stock with 2x 200mm fans and a 120mm rear-exhaust fan. I expected the fans to be louder and they were very quiet. The optional 200mm side fan I linked above is the same fan as the front 200mm fan, so it is equally quiet.
-- Bottom mount power supply. This means that it pulls intake air from the bottom of the case rather than from the inside the case like you would with a top-mount power supply. Note: You "could" turn the supply the other way so that it faces the inside.
-- Front panel includes eSATA, audio ports, USB 2.0

Cons:
-- No USB 3.0 support. If you want USB 3.0 front ports, then you'll need something like the SilverStone FP36B USB 3.0 Front Panel. Easy fix.
-- It's REALLY big for a mid-tower. All that spacious room for the heatsink and cable management comes at the cost of this case being very large. Definitely bigger than I expected.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid workmanship, 24" inches is pushing the limit, February 6, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The "clamp" needs around a 2 3/4" lip underneath your desk to have something to clamp on. There is no wall mount option. I knew that going in so it's not costing it any stars or a con, but this is something I definitely would have liked to have had the option of changing. After all, what do you do if you get a new desk that doesn't have that much of a lip underneath?

Pros:
-- Thick solid metal construction. Not flimsy at all.
-- Horizontally, lots of joints make the arm very flexible.

Cons:
-- With the bigger 23" and 24" monitors, it gets too crowded. For this stand, smaller is better.
-- Plastic cord clips are a bit too delicate. If you adjust often, these could easily wear out.
-- No independent vertical adjustment of monitors.
