2.0 out of 5 stars A less than average BATMAN game......but not the worst either........., August 3, 2007
This is the Sega Genesis version of the same game that was released on the 8-Bit Nintendo!!! The Nintendo version is the one to get! You would think that the developers/programmers would have at least used some of Sega's 16-Bit power to made the game better in at least one aspect??? Making the graphics bigger is not that important. The controls are very sluggish and the difficulty is steap making for a frustrating combo. The pros of the game are few and far between. If you are an avid collector of Batman videogames then go ahead. It's not the worst game ever made for the Genesis console but it's barely passable fun.

3.0 out of 5 stars Give this game a chance., June 5, 2006
Some of you may or may not know that this is a 16-bit version of the same game release in the arcades in the early 90's. Trust me, I've played the arcade version years back. The game does have RPG elements but it's mostly a hack-n-slash 2-D side-scroller.
Nintendo did a great job transfering this classic arcade game onto an 8-meg cartridge. The levels and bosses might be used more than once during the game but, its still addictive. There is a fair amount of replay value with a total of 50+ levels. Most of the levels though can be conqured in a matter of minutes but who cares. This is all just straight forward mindless fun. What do you expect from a super nintendo game that was made in 1992.
Overall the game has excellent music and graphics. There is a wide variety of characters that can assist you and you get weapon upgrades once certain levels are cleared.
If you have ever played King of Dragons or Knights of the Round than dont miss a chance to pick up this game.

5.0 out of 5 stars No Sorrows here......Castlevania at its finest!!!!, March 25, 2006
In my opinion this is the 2nd best castlevania sequel to date. While Symphony of the Night holds the title; Sorrow is still top-notch entertainment. The graphics are on par (if not better in someparts)than Symphony, but the overall length of the main-game falls a bit short. You could take hours trying to collect all of the souls of the 100+ monsters in the game, but only a handfull of them real help you proceed further in the game. Sorrow has about half the boss count as Symphony or Dissonance for example. And once you uncover the full 100% of the castle map; you will be surprised to see that it's not all that big. Other than that one flaw, Castlevania:Dawn of Sorrow is the reason to own a Nintendo DS. This game has Gigantic bosses, great music, challenging gameplay, and the 2nd best experience in the Castlevania universe. If anyone has a DS you would disservice yourself in not picking this one up ASAP because the price of this one is gonna go up in the years to come.
