Impressive technical direction. Bogus script. This director makes the continuous take strategy work, but that's a pretty hollow accomplishment. It's a stunt that does nothing to enhance the storytelling. It only serves as a distraction if that's what people are attending to. I dread to think that less talented people will follow in his footsteps. The script is sheer Hollywood self proctology of the highest, most clueless order. It offers no understanding or insights into how the real world or real people actually work. But I was diverted, I didn't loathe it. And it's set in the theater where my uncle used to work.

Great Sugary sound. Why can't I recall any of the songs? Made me catch the tour, where he did play some memorable songs.

2.0 out of 5 stars Cheeseless, April 4, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Lugubrious kickoff to the movie franchise of the beloved TV series. Too reverent, not cheesy enough. No fun. They must've slipped Shatner sedatives. The plot is a bloated, stilted variation on a typical Trek story. As we all know, the series found its feet next time out in "The Wrath of Khan".

Amusing Farrel, appealing Yelchin. I just don't buy vampires eating apples.

4.0 out of 5 stars A kinder, gentler W, April 4, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Crazy, forgotten sitcom, buried after 9/11. Shows how dissed W was before history rendered that unfashionable. The mild spoofing just not funny in the wake of his administration's legacy.

Style over substance.
