5.0 out of 5 stars Wow..., September 9, 2004
I had heard that Fall Out Boy was a good band from my friends, but I was not expecting a CD like this...I have played this nearly every day for the last six months or so and out of all the punk/pop-punk/indie music I have, this is one of my favorites. From the great opening song "Tell That Mick He Just..." to the closer "The Patron Saint Of Liars And Fakes" every song is great (except Calm Before The Storm, that is just an average song), but if you like bands like Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Starting Line, Matchbook Romance, etc. you will love this one

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites..., September 9, 2004
Taking Back Sunday is a great band. The singer has a great voice that is perfectly complimented by another guy that screams along in some songs...I would recommend this CD to anyone that likes this kind of music

Best Tracks: There's No I In Team, Timberwolves @ New Jersey

4.0 out of 5 stars Say It Like You Mean It, September 9, 2004
Excellent CD...although I have played it to death and don't think it is as good as I originally thought when I bought it, this is still a great CD. Kenny has an amazing voice and it sounds great in concert as well, this is a highly recommended CD if you like pop-punk.

Best Songs: Up & Go, The Drama Summer, Saddest Girl Story

3.0 out of 5 stars Sometimes boring..., September 9, 2004
This is a good album, don't get me wrong, but I was just bored by some of the songs. "The Room's Too Cold" can be a very repetitive album, but I bought it for $5 at the Starting Line, Allister, Home Grown, Early November, Senses Fail concert and it was definitely worth the $5, but I don't know if it would be worth the full price

As you can tell from the reviews, this is a great CD...as you can also tell from the reviews, the drumming is UNBELIEVABLE, if you are a fan of bands like Taking Back Sunday and Fall Out Boy, this CD is for you.

Best tracks: "My Eyes Burn" and "Playing For Keeps"

4.0 out of 5 stars A More Mature Brand New, September 9, 2004
Brand New shows a different, less pop-punk oriented sound on their sophomore release...so if you expect another "Your Favorite Weapon", this is totally different

The album starts off with
Tautou- A weird song, not so much an acutal song as a really strange intro to the album, I usually skip this one (2/5)

Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades- Great song about a guy who is taken advantage of by a girl, original concept where the guy is the victim with a great guitar solo (4.5/5)

I Will Play My Game Beneath The Spin Light- Good song, not as good as the one before it but there is some acoustic guitar mixed in with some powerful lyrics "If looks could really kill, then my profession would be staring" (3.5/5)

Okay I Believe You, But My Tommy Gun Don't- Excellent song, starts off slow but really picks up, as usual Brand New always writes great lyrics to their songs but this one is even better than most of the other ones (4.5/5)

Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows- I am sure most of you have heard this one on the radio or seen the video, one of my favorites on the album (4.5/5)

The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot- A slower song with some acoustic in the background, Brand New pulls it off much better than the slower songs on their first CD (4/5)

Jaws Theme Swimming- Pretty good song, nothing special (3.5/5)

Me vs. Maradona vs. Elvis- Real slow song with soft singing, other than Tautou this is my least favorite song, but it is still pretty good (3.5/5)

Guernica- This is where the album picks up again after two so-so songs, this song is awesome (4/5)

Good To Know That If I Ever Need Attention All I Have To Do Is Die- My favorite song on the album, 7 minutes long but it does not get old...the song switches up so much, nearly a perfect song (5/5)

Play Crack The Sky- Slow acoustic song to end the album, a great ending song to close this one (4/5)

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as great as Deja Entendu but, September 9, 2004
still a great CD...and to everyone that says "There's No I In Team" and "Seventy Times Seven" are similar, that is because they are about eachother. The lead singers of Brand New and Taking Back Sunday were friends and one of their girlfriends (I think it was the Brand New singer)cheated on them with the other guy.
