3.0 out of 5 stars Only harpsichord music, November 17, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
To be entirely fair about this, I bought the CD for one performance, selection number 23 the Rondo Alla Turca by W.A.Mozart played superbly by Igor Kipnis. Now the 3 star grade... There is ONLY harpsichord on here. No violin, no cello, none of that beautiful brass or woodwinds. Having said that, if you want a sample of some very fine harpsichord music with none of that annoying orchestra noise covering up or getting in the way, then this little beaut is just what you want.

5.0 out of 5 stars One word.. Great, November 17, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I can't remember how I found this guy, but he is a riot. You cannot help but smiling when you read his stuff. The tounge in cheek verses, the wordplay, it is all so original and funny. I wanted to bookmark so many poems and underline so much that rechecking out again and again the library copy wasn't going to work anymore. Buying this book is like buying a smile for the rest of your life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Plum MUST write great stuff!!, August 14, 2010
This review is from: Quick Service (Hardcover)
My feelings on P.G. Wodehouse are not a secret. If you were to list the best 100 books of all time, Plum wrote 96. What are the other 4?

There are only so many Hitchcock movies around. Some of the reviews sandblasted this movie...not I. Watch it and enjoy the Master.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Star Atlas, Batman, March 14, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This thing has EVERYTHING you need to find ANYTHING that a typical backyard, star party, serious, amature astronomer would ever need to see. HOWEVER... The page numbers are next to the spiral binding. Considering this was put together by a genius, kinda unforgivable. PLUS... The constellations are not marked. Again, kinda unforgivable. But, you can do what I have done and put the chart number to the outside and draw your own constellation lines. An A+ product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tel-Rad is GOOD, March 14, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Telrad Finder Sight (Electronics)
The Tel-Rad is the way to go for a finder. The ONLY fault that I can find [and it didn't rank high enough to deduct a star] is the dew. I understand that there is a shield for that but, alas , it isn't perfect either. That said, I love my Tel-Rad and highly reccomend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST place to start..., January 17, 2010
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Stars (Paperback)
If you have a general interest in seeing what a constallation is named for, what it`s supposed to look like, where it is found, then this is the book for you. If we as children had grown up with this as a constant companion, we would have such a far better grasp of the heavens. Order this for yourself and enjoy it with your children and grandchildren. A week spent outside after dark with this guide will put you knowing more about the stars than you would have thought possible. When I first saw The Bear[that I had 'seen' my whole life], my jaw dropped. Enjoy!!! UPDATE 3\14\10 Having used this little book REGULAR now for 3 months , the above review stands with one small addition: It would be very nice if all of the stars were named. When you grow into a star atlas, it would be nice to take Mr. Rey's pictures along easier. ANOTHER UPDATE!! 8\14\10 Learn the REAL names of the constellations!! The author gives them his made up English names. When you get around people that are serious about their hobby, calling Cetus 'whale' or Corvis 'crow' won't fly. He puts the real names beside the made up one, so it is no real hassel. I still study this book several times a month. I cannot see it ever becoming stale.

P.G.Wodehouse wrote 96 novels in his lifetime. This is one of the 5 with my personal favorite character, Uncle Fred. There cannot be any question of not getting this, just which Wodehouse now? You can NEVER go wrong with Uncle Fred. The 100 best books in the English language? Well, Wodehouse wrote 96. What are the other 4??

4.0 out of 5 stars Not too bad..., December 26, 2009
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
As with all anthologies, you will find some really good stuff in here and in my opinion, some fairly poor. Overall I would have to say give it a look though. How can you pass up an edition with Mr. Ed the talking horse reading Edgar Wallace books from his local library?
