5.0 out of 5 stars Too Bad It Took So Long!, July 10, 2014
What a great CD! Working with a great band and great songs, this is one that Mellencamp should be very proud of. A nice addition are the few Mellencamp classics at the end done in a different style. He has always been great in concert, but this particular, different show really shines from the beginning to the end. Hope we don't have to wait another 11 years for another great live CD from Mellencamp.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great One!, June 7, 2014
This review is from: Message In Blue (Audio CD)
I'm not quite sure how he does it, but Dave Specter never puts out a bad CD. On top of being a great guitar player with his own distinctive sound, he always surrounds himself with other great musicians and singers. A top notch production and highly recommended to lovers of the blues.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply tremendous!, March 24, 2014
I guess I was like a lot of other potential readers. What could a girl who was 2 years old when her father died have to say about her father? Was this going to be a "daddy dearest book"?
This is by far one of the best rock and roll books I have ever read. It tells more than just Duane's story, but Galadrielle's story, her mother's story, and the history of the ABB. Heartfelt and poignant, it tells the story of Duane, warts and all. She doesn't candy coat his bad behavior, but not in a malicious way but more in an explanatory way. Guitar players as talented as Duane are very rare, and Galadrielle tries to explain how Duane just could not fuse the family and the music. Her access to key people in the band and organization give us an insight no other author could get. A tremendous, from the heart read.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Miss Dickie Betts!!!, March 24, 2014
I listened to this thinking it was just going to be another rehashing of classic Allman Brothers songs. I could NOT have been more wrong. These 2 CD's are filled with some great music. They are simply on fire from the first note to the last. It doesn't matter when or where it was recorded, this music is timeless. I really like the current line up of the Brothers, but this twin guitar line up of Warren and Dickie is simply killer. Dickie brings back a lot of memories of the classic Allman Brothers sound. He is simply tremendous here. That sound is what's really missing in the band today. This is highly recommended.

the only other place to get these is Radio Shack and their product only lasts a few months. This is much better. I use it with my iPod at work .

1.0 out of 5 stars Is This A Joke?, December 25, 2012
This review is from: This Christmas (Audio CD)
Is this a "Saturday Night Live " skit? Travolta speaks/sings with no discernable talent. Even my grandmother, a forgiving Christian, would hate this. Newton-John and Travolta actually listened to this and let it be released anyway?

2.0 out of 5 stars Maybe Some Other Time, December 23, 2012
This review is from: Live At Legends (Audio CD)
Buddy Guy is probably very capeable of making a great live CD but this isn't it. It's a lot like his concerts- some decent blues, and some real junk , like his Cream and Hendrix covers. You go to see Buddy play blues but it turns into some dreadful show boating. The man is a true legend with undeniable talent but this CD is terrible.

2.0 out of 5 stars ANOTHER Greatest Hits Package -Yawn!, November 21, 2012
This review is from: GRRR! (Audio CD)
Time for The Stones to hang it up. Grrr! is yet ANOTHER hits package of songs any true Stones fan already has. Do they really need the money ? Speaking of that, their shows in Newark are priced form $160 to $600. If this doesn't let the fans know they're in it for the money, what does? They have become a parody of themselves and should have retired in style years ago at the top of their game. Thanks for the memories.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stood The Test Of Time, November 16, 2012
This album has done what very few albums have done - it stood the test of time. It sounds as fresh, good, and innovative as it did the day it came out over 40 years ago. Most importantely, one never gets tired of hearing it. My only minor gripe is Stevie is not much of a drummer and should have got a pro drummer for the sessions but I admire his musical ability beyond question.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Disc!, October 3, 2012
This review is from: 3 Skulls & The Truth (Audio CD)
Wow! Didn't know what to expect but found this to be a great CD. Lots of killer guitar, great vocals, and no filler. In this day and age of polished, multi track recordings it has a great raw quality about it. It sounds a lot like ZZ Top BEFORE the 1980's and believe me, that's a compliment.
