5.0 out of 5 stars (if you really wanna bring out your best looks). I find this book great as a ..., June 26, 2015
Color matters! (if you really wanna bring out your best looks). I find this book great as a guide to help you understand what colors may be flattering or not. It is especially convincing to see examples of models "before" and "after" in different color schemes (with no touchups) and to see how some colors make them look washed out while others bring out their best features. Also there's a"love color" quiz that asks you to choose a color you're most attracted to, then encourages you to still wear it in ways. I would never give up my favorite colors, but definitely want to be aware of what will be most flattering and make good use of those colors.

Authors Jesse Garza and Joe Lupo break down the different 4 colortype categories that you could fit into and the color palette recommended for each one (and some for everyone). This book is very informative and has lots of clear color photo pictures. There are examples of celebrities/people in the different colortypes. The book is extensive and goes into depth about Clothes (with a breakdown based on your favorite Styletype- ex. Classic, Chic, Bohemian, Avante-Garde, Whimsical for each!), Jewelry, Hair, Makeup. There are "breaks" in between with case studies of various designers (including the authors)/their types and about them, as well as lots of interesting color knowledge.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is one of those movies where you just...watch the unrated version, Ok?, July 18, 2005
This review is from: Basic Instinct (DVD)
Spicey...well, just balls (pun intended)

yeah, this movie is good...yeah, half is "porn"

Watch it [the unrated version]...and read Douglas king's review...[oh, and btw- in one way, you can say it is "mysogynistic" in another, it exposes it, and in another it is "misandrist" as well as "gender-bending" which i reallly like (*Catherine Trammell)

1.0 out of 5 stars Hello, July 1, 2005
First let's talk about the positives:

It talks about male-bashing, which I don't agree with either

she encourages mmore affection on the woman's part....those who are inconsiderate of their husband's feelings

It has some "romantic" (on first glance) views of husbands...how sweet

Now let's get down to why you should buy this book:

Buy this book if you don't mind having sex with your husband even though you're "not in the mood" Look, maybe there are times when BOTH of you guys can work stuff out and make things more enticing for both of you when one is not "in the mood"...but HELLO....she's encouraging all WOMEN to deny their feelings no matter what to please 'her man'

buy this book if you think most men are heros, willing to do anything for their wives, and wives should understand this...and cater to their men because it's their "duty"

Buy this book if you think the feminist movement screwed women over...why? Because it encouraged them to be more independent, free to do whatever the you-know-what they really want to do (i.e. careers, etc.), make money, and to not give in to all gender stereotypes imposed on females by society.

Buy this book if you think woman have a certain "status" to be lady-like: while it's acceptable for men, Dr. Laura thinks woman should not display rudeness (hmm, I suppose it's never ok for a female to be "rude"? I can think of a few situations where speaking up for something can be construed as "being rude"), smoke, act vulgar, or be promiscuous. Of course, it's the women that will encourage their men to be the same way.

Buy this book if you agree that you can either have a family and be a "homemaker" or have a career...not both, no compromise.

Buy this book if you're gay and have decided to become straight and live a good, wholesome married life

5.0 out of 5 stars Yummm-y!, May 9, 2005
Ok, so I just tried one dish so far- made the mashed potato and fennel with gravy dish,=]mmmm Delicious!!!!! It took a while to make (I'm kinda slow...too) ...ok, like 2 hours (I'm really slow hee...and the dish is just time consuming in terms of cutting up the veggies..but if your fast/have it cut already..GREAT). But the results are yummmmm

And I'm not even vegan!...yet :p

Oh, and I really like this book because the recipes are easy! The ingredients are easily found in health food and regular supermarkets.

4.0 out of 5 stars SIGH...::telephone scene:: lol, September 7, 2004
This review is from: It's a Wonderful Life (DVD)
Ok...obviously there are stereotypes from the 1950s- male/female...that still exist today! (the all-American family) :\ But I liked it overall. I found myself laughing a lot...and there was one really romantic scene. I recommend it!
