I thought it was a well thought out story.. but not enough of a pre-amble to describe exactly why the world was in such a mess, and what the steps were to create the "un-dead" plague. The characters of the main plot were good, and their tales of how they survived were quite real and acceptable, with the descriptions of their cabins, cellars, and how they were built and stocked.
The casual way the "un-dead" were dispensed with was a bit disconcerting (eg: shooting, axes to the heads, spikes through their eyes etc), and became a bit boring after a while as these un-dead hordes kept attacking them.
Their trip to Colorado seemed a bit "pie in the sky".. but the descriptions of their hardships along the way were good.. their concerns about gasoline, ammunition, and attacks from various marauders were well written and gave this reader a real sense of adversity and adventure.
All-in-all, a very good adventure story mixed with a bit of horror... /i really enjoyed it.

Good plot.. Lots of twists... But a little bit too lesbian for my taste....

4.0 out of 5 stars Great walking shoes, June 10, 2014

Very comfortable - bit hard slipping the heel into the shoe to start with, needs a shoe horn for the first few outings until you have banged them into shape. Very warm to wear, good thick heels and soles.. no problems wearing them for 8+ hours.. Will be taking them to Vancouver for a walking holiday, and expect them to perform very well..
I have a spine problem that makes the soles of my feet very sensitive and tingly. Footwear is of the ultimate importance to me, and these seem to fill the bill.

These shoes must be the most comfortable shoes ever made. They are a little on the heavy side, but the thick soles and soft leather uppers, plus the walking comfort make up for that.. I think I will be wearing these shoes for the rest of my life...
