1.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous singer and greedy companies, May 25, 2012
This review is from: L'Amore E' Femmina (Audio CD)
Nina Zilli is the best of the best. That said, paying 47 bucks for an album is just outrageous, you're drunk, or what???!!!! I'll just wait for her latest album to be available as MP3 for download at a reasonable price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, June 14, 2011

I've received this book, ordered from Amazon, today. After an evening of close reading, I just can say: THIS ONE is the book on power training and conditioning traditional Martial Arts practitioners (of both karate and kung-fu) have been expecting for decades!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best books on kung fu on the market, June 4, 2010
I own nearly all of the better books on kung fu written in English, and I can say that this is one of the two or three best books about a kung fu subject available today. Quality of kung fu books is generally poor, especially as compared to the books devoted to karate or taekwondo; books on the weapons of Chinese martial arts are rare, and even rarer are books on the 3-sectional staff. Considering all of this, I must say that this book is the exception to the low quality of kung fu books. It's an excellent instructional book on it's own right. Rick L. Wing is a practitioner of Northern Shaolin (from Ku Yu Chang) and Chin Woo instructor with a brilliant technique. He wrote besides this an excellent book on the 5th empty hand form of the Northern Shaolin system (Mo I). Both books are a must in the library of every one interested in kung fu, even more if they do any northern kung fu system.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!, November 18, 2009

If you love kung-fu and wish to learn what it is all about, this book is a must. It's not an instructional book, but rather a collection of essays on different aspects that range from training to principles, and a bit of kung-fu history. So it is "theory", but what you are going to learn concerning principles for proper kung-fu training, attitude, fighting, distinguishing between what kung-fu is actually is - and what is not - is damn important!

5.0 out of 5 stars A gem, September 3, 2009
Though a well known style, and popular in the USA and several other countries like Canada, Brazil and Argentina (unfortunately not so much here in Europe), there is very little written on this system, this book being one out of three titles published so far in an European language. This is enough to make it a must for all those interested in the Northern Shaolin system of Grandmaster Ku Yu Chang. This apart, Rick L. Wing's book provides lots of very interesting information on the system's history and forms, and, the very best: a detailed, and well photographed explanation of the 5th form of the style: Mo I (Martial Skill); breakdowns of the moves included and ... applications! It is one of the best kung fu books published so far. And I forgot this: Rick L. Wing's technique is brilliant. I own this book and regard it as a treasure in my martial arts library. So I am writing this review to let other kung fu enthusiasts know about this (seemingly) overlooked but most valuable work.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have, September 19, 2008

If you want your kung-fu techniques to be real, then you must read this book, then assess your techniques closely, and then work, work, work on them. Some more words: kung-fu - as any tradtitional martial arts - is about self defence, not sports figting (no matter how brutal), or bar-brawling. If you want to get stabbed into your ribs, take up wrestling. That's up to you.
