5.0 out of 5 stars The BETA has arrived, October 17, 2014
An alternate timeline, humanity has met its first alien encounter - and its first interplanetary war. the relentless BETA (Beings of Extra Terrestrial Adversity) took over the moon and in 1973 landed in Asia. Humanity fights a losing war of attrition using new weapons called TSF's. The story starts with a young Japanese girl named Yui, a soldier trainee, and her first contact with this unstoppable force - and the horrors she experiences on the field. Then a few years later she is part of a group development team to make new weapons and train new pilots to try to push back the BETA hoard. But the squad is a little unorthodox, and the main pilot in her opinion a loose cannon - but with the right training could they possibly be able to turn the war around.

I just finished the first 13 episodes on Crunchyroll, and it was good. the first episodes give you the history with the rest about the Argos squad and the problems with trying to work with other countries. You can see not only tension, but the problems politics and fear brings out against an enemy that has no interest in talking - just destroying. I give this a must have - and will wait for the next season as the war is only just beginning.

5.0 out of 5 stars cool accessory for dms and players, October 16, 2014
I own 2 d20s and a 2d6 dice ring from when i was in gencon. they are cool, and are fun to have - however some gm's may not allow them as the numbers would be too small for table use unless you were near them. but they spin nice and the sound they make just is cool. do be careful in ensure nothing gets in between the rings and clogs them up (all mine are in a nice plastic carrier in a bag).

5.0 out of 5 stars WUB WUB TIME!!!!!!!!, October 14, 2014
Before the events of Borderlands 2, there was a visionary who wanted to protect Pandora from a new threat when the first Vault was opened - and his name is Jack. Summoning 4 capable Hunters, he begins a campaign to bring a sense of order to Elphis and Pandora - but what is the cost of such a vision? (Of course we know, but needed a bit of drama).

I only played a couple of hours and the enjoyment of the first two Borderlands games is still strong. Play as Wilhelm, Athena, Nisha, and for the first time a stair climbing Claptrap as you begin a "peacekeeping" mission to bring the power of the Hyperion corp to the scabs of Elphis. As always, new weapons, skins, and abilites tantlize you the player as you create your own unique Hunter. As you are on the moon, you have two great abiltiies - the butt stomp which if used right can send enemies flying into orbit (and it can be customized with elemental damage), and the abiltiy to freeze your enemies and punch them to listen to them shatter (I know you should not be hearing sound in the vaccum of the moon - but its a game who cares). But of course there is new dangers, such as new enemies, new hazards, and of course the need for air. With cameos of known characters from the other games.

So choose a Hunter (I am using Athena), grab your guns, and joy puke your face off.........

5.0 out of 5 stars Fundraisers, weddings, and Death - a strange combination, October 8, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Kathleen has been busy, working on a fundraiser for the Reading Buddies program, getting a wedding set up between Maggie and Emmett, and her own relationship with her hunky Marcus. But when the ex wife of the town troublemaker shows up and then dies due to an allergic reaction - she fears for the worst. Now she is being drawn into another mystery, and this one may be her toughest yet.

Only one word, AMAZING!!!!!! Normally a series like this would start to feel stale, but Sofie keeps the magic and the entertainment flowing. Poor Kathleen, not only is she getting involved again, but this time Herc and Owen are not helping as they seem to be having a bro fight and she is working to get them to make up - which of course just adds to their adorable characters. Also the romance is really spreading as several of her friends seem to be matching up with someone (and a few of them I am happy to see). Again this was another great book and I can not wait until the next one to see what happens to everyone - and maybe watch Marcus have a nervous breakdown whenever he finds out about our favorite furry sleuths.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love, Roses, and Murder, October 8, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Irrepressible Bailey Ruth is back in another enjoyable story. She is always happy to do work for the Department of Good Intentions, and is surprised when Wiggins asks her to go back to her old stomping grounds on a personal matter. The Lady of Roses, a matchmaking ghost, of the local college appears to have gone from making couples to making trouble - and Wiggins is worried that she is being framed as he loved her when they were both alive. But things go from worrisome to dark as a couple of valuable books are stolen and the night guardsman is shot, and all evidence points to a young college student and the police are not in any position to help as Chief Cobbs is on his honeymoon and the acting chief is not willing to follow any other leads. Can two visitors from beyond be able to find out who is behind it and why before two innocents are labeled as guilty.

This book was more than enjoyable. From Bailey Ruths' antics to get to the bottom of the mystery to Wiggins past the story is as well written. If you enjoyed the other books, you will definately enjoy this latest installment and cannot wait for the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Let's do the Time Warp (without a jump to the left), October 7, 2014
This review is from: Time Bandits [Blu-ray] (Blu-ray)
This classic cult film is one on the best from the 80's (with Ice Pirates). Join a young boy as he travels through time with a group of ecclectic dwarves as they are on the run from a great big head who tells them to return the map that they stole. As he travels, he meets many historical figures like Robin Hood, Jesus, and Napoleon (and pilfering a few trinkets along the way). But what will happen when the map falls into the wrong hands, can they stop the ulitmate Evil at the center of Time itself?

It has been a long time since I have seen this movie, but I remember a lot of it and it still was one of the best movies of my childhood (Ice Pirates and Ghostbusters are also up there). Now compared to today's special effects and filimg, it does come off as a little corny - but this is a time when a movie has substance rather than flash. Those who remember this film need to pick it up and watch it again and again

5.0 out of 5 stars A hot figure in many ways, October 6, 2014
I just received this, the paint was well done. She is also large, about as big as the Dark Souls 2 figure in the limited edition. Her hat sits easily on the head, and the staff fits the hand, just be careful when putting it in. the clothes hug the figure just like it does in the game, showing her figure and ample assets. a must for fans of the game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Its good to be the King, October 3, 2014
Finally after much delay - the King of smash is back. The cast is larger, the action faster, and the AI smarter. The ability to make your Mii's into fighters is fun, and their moves are as strong as the regular characters. I would suggest using the training until you get used to the main controls, but when you do you can move very quickly. I love this game and it is a strong addition to the 3ds library and when the wiiu version comes out make sure you port your mii fighter to it as well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Final book - roller coaster city, October 2, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Bea is back from her medical leave and her sights are on the man of her dreams. But jealousy and anger threaten to break up a great friendship, until duty calls again. Now they are off to North Carolina where a suspected werewolf attack threatens the local community. but when Will starts acting strange and Oliver acts like a jerk, how can Bea try to keep the team focused on a greater threat - or will her decisions tear it apart?

Honestly this was a major emotional roller coaster, and if I read it right, the final book of the series. Bea starts off being a needy little girl, and towards the end discovers not all endings are going to be happy. Honestly given the ending (small spoiler), I feel she took the cowards way out. Maybe there will be a new series, and given the author we can hope so. If you were a fan of the others, give it a read - but expect a lot to happen.
