5.0 out of 5 stars Minuteman net IPMI add-in card, August 31, 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Worked exactly as expected, or better. We have a Linux and Mac only shop, so the Windows-only software was useless, but it picked up a DHCP address, and has a web based config ability, which was trivial to use. Looking forward to getting nut fully configured with IPMI. CDs came with a couple of IPMI files that are ready to be imported into nut's IPMI driver. Price was reasonable compared to most other stores charging more than twice as much.

Castle and Kate finally get together in the last episode, which is when the show starts to get much more watchable. Worth seeing the whole season the get the story line leading into season 5 (2012).

I just love this song, what can I say? I try to "sing along" when the singer sucks a huge breath near the beginning of the song. I also love the noise that is part of the song. Awesome.

Got two of these, they are working great with no thought that they're even being used. If I need some more of these adapters, this will be what I'll get. The short solid adapters can interfere with other USB devices plugged into adjacent USB ports.

Here's the thing: the printer I used this in uses color ink when printing black or grey scale pages. Nothing you can do about it. These cartridges cost a lot, and last only about 50 pages, color, b&w, or whatever. It's really terrible. I unplugged the printer and only use it as a scanner now. Printer model was an S815 AIO. You may have heard about a trick to use the chip from an OEM cartridge on a knock-off cartridge, but the trick has a flaw: the firmware remembers the chips that have gone through the printer, and when you put the copycat cartridge into the printer with the chip from the OEM cartridge, it shows that cartridge as empty, and makes it very difficult to print anything.

I give 4/5 stars because, first, it hasn't crapped out yet, unlike the previous product from a different manufacturer that I tried, which crapped out the second time I used it! I've been using this one almost every day for 2 months. So far, so good. Minus one star because it doesn't have an LED on it to indicate that it is connected to the cigarette lighter contacts and getting juice. But really that's trivial, because that's rarely a problem with this item. I almost never have to twist it around or otherwise fiddle with it to get it to connect, like so many others that have come and gone in my car. I haven't been able to tell if it's really pumping more juice into my phone than the previous one (not counting the one that broke after one use) did, but the previous one didn't even supply enough juice to keep the battery from discharging slightly when running the Google Navigation app! So yeah, even when connected to the previous charger, the phone battery would discharge ever so slightly when running that app. I'm not positive this one is better, but I think it is. And like I mentioned, it doesn't seem to suffer from the car-goes-over-a-bump-and-the-charger-isn't-connected-any-more problem. I'd definitely buy this again or recommend it to a friend.

I'm going to have to say this is the best value in this product space. The Realtek chip used is really quite reliable, and I'm not easy to please. The Intel chip is better performance wise, but only by about 5% on the top end, however costs at least double, if not more. 95% of people won't be able to tell the difference in the performance even if they try pretty hard, and in the application this will be used, it won't be an issue anyway since maximum network traffic bursts will be in the 20MB/s range, at least for a few years. It's power consumption, about 1 watt at idle or very low traffic, is quite acceptable, and I'm also a stickler about that. An exceedingly simple card like this is hard to screw up, and they didn't, so that's a good sign. If you really need those 5,000 additional management features available on the Intel based card, go ahead and spend 4x what this one costs. Or is it 5x? I think I paid $10 for this one. Once, only once, did we try a card based on the Via chip. That card is in the trash now.

Pay no attention to people saying it didn't work on their Windows box. If someone doesn't have the expertise to get the driver on to their Windows box, they shouldn't be adding cards to their box by themselves as it is. Any up-to-date version of Windows 7 or later has the driver already. And, of course, the card comes with a mini-cd with the driver on it, and it can be downloaded off the internet quite easily. If you're trying to add this card to a box that is 10 years old, well, bravo to you, but you will have to get creative unless you are running software that's newer than your box. We use Linux, and the driver has been in Linux distros for at least a year now. Even if the Linux release that you're running is a couple of years old, if you've been updating your kernel like you should be, you have the driver.

I have to say, this thing is not bad. I had a bike battery that seemingly wasn't too good, and coincidentally had a few issues with the way the bike was running. I got this for a good price, and all the problems went away and it sure seems strong. Much stronger than the Yuasa battery it is replacing when that was new. And that cost 4x the price, never again with that store bought Yuasa product. I was considering getting one of those Shorai (sp?) batteries which cost quite a bit more but seem on paper to be pretty darn good, but nevermind on that. This thing is crankin'.
