4.0 out of 5 stars Cool Intro to Science Through Zombie Anatomy, September 16, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is definitely NOT your usual educational toy. But of course, that makes it all the more interesting to kids! The squishy organs at somewhat sticky to stay in place in the zombies chest cavity, and you have a brain to take out and pieces of skin that slide off. The comic book walks kids through the scientific method and how to "diagnose" their zombie, and it comes with a stand to display as well.

On the downside, I would have liked to see more complete organs. It's disappointing for instance, that there's no separately heart to remove, and a stomach that you could squeeze contents out of would be particularly cool. Also, the hand on our zombie falls off way too easily, we got quickly tired of putting it back on and finally just taped it on. One of the legs is illustrated to come off but is stuck or for some reason does not come off and we didn't want to break the toy trying to get it off.

Overall, it's definitely a really cool way to learn some simple anatomy and science and could get some kids that might not otherwise show much interest involved in science.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Book For Learning to Golf, September 16, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
A lot of people in my family golf but I'm just a beginner to the sport myself, so found this book an ideal companion to learning the game. It's full of drills, photos, charts to keep track of progress, and much more, using a very methodical approach to the game starting with putting and working up to the more difficult full swing. I would expect even more experienced players will find useful things in here with the different drills to improve your game but it's definitely a treasure trove for a beginner like myself who isn't able to afford excellent in-person coaching.

2.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't Seem as Powerful as It Used To Be, September 16, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I don't know if there has been a change in the formula, but this bottle of RoundUp just doesn't seem to work as well as what I have used before. Or maybe the weeds here in NC are just a lot hardier than northern weeds. Whatever the reason, I keep spraying them but just not getting particularly good results. They will maybe look a little sickly for a couple days, and then they just bounce back. It does seem to handle the grass that sprouts up on my driveway, but it's the massive weed growth in my backyard that comes through my wooden fence that I was hoping it would help with, but looks like it's just not up to the job.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cool Track that Changes Shape, but Some Issues Enjoying it Fully, September 15, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is definitely not your usual dual track, you start with the two loops up in the air and try to shoot a car through them and hit the flag, which causes them to come down and meet the lower track. This is definitely the best feature of the toy, and something kids LOVE!

But there are just too many negatives. First, the fact that they are selling a dual track and only give you ONE car. This is just really cheap and unnecessary. But the track is set up to allow 4 cars, but only gives you the rip cord to do two, yet another excluded item to make full use of the toy.

The biggest issue for us was how hard it was to land the cars on the winners circle, it just flies off the loop, or hits the side of the circle, compared to how easy it was to hit the flag when the loops are in the air, it's a shame that the second part of the race is so difficult and frustrating for kids to achieve.

The track is very difficult to get apart for storage, and at the price sold, it just has a few too negatives for me to recommend it very highly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Illustrations Almost, But Not Quite, Save this Flawed Kid's Book, September 14, 2014
This review is from: My Name Is Bob (Hardcover)
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The beautiful illustrations are the best part of this book, but the story falls short. It's a very short story book, and the opening where the cat's owner dies, leaving him to fend for himself, definitely is a subject not best for the young children this book is intended for. Older children that won't have issues with the abandonment of the cat won't have more than passing interest in a book obviously for much younger children. I'd recommend passing on this and getting the author's other stories of Bob and their special relationship.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Good Spatula for a Variety of Uses, September 14, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I have a variety of silicone spatulas but this one is quite different than many of my others and complements them well. Most of the ones I have are cuisinart spoon spatulas which I like a lot but they are quite flexible, get damaged easily by sharp objects in the sink or dishwasher, and aren't always the best for really scrapping out a bowl or jar well. This spatula is a fair bit stiffer and I like the shape of it which allows for getting into different shaped objects. The price is very reasonable for silicon as well.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fails to Protect for Long, September 14, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I often use normal Always panty liners, but after having a hysterectomy I definitely have some minor issues with leakage, so these seemed like a good alternative to test out. Unfortunately they aren't even as good as normal panty liners. While they may absorb more liquid, they are too short in length for such use and the adhesive does not go out to the edges of the pad, so they start to roll under too easily, and tend to fall out before the end of the day. A very poor design that just doesn't do the job if you need actual incontinence protection. Also, my gynecologist does not care for liners like this with scent, she prefers women use unscented liners as she says the scented ones are more prone to cause UTIs. Not sure if that is true but I usually try to stick with the unscented ones for that reason.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Musical Toy for Toddlers, September 14, 2014
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:4.0 out of 5 stars
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This wonderful little bus is perfect for youngsters who are approaching school age to get them excited about various school activities like riding the bus. It has quite a variety of phrases and music built in, which you activate by rotating the bus sign to different destinations and swapping out the animals in the driver's seat which you press to play a phrase. It is designed to coordinate with the LeapFrog Learning Friends Play and Discover School Playset which includes different animals that are part of the collection. The bus is very sturdy, with doors that open and a fold-down picnic table. The batteries are already included and installed which is a big plus. I also like the easy connectors used to attach the toy, which make it easier to remove from the box than many kid's toys. Over all, a great toddler toy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautifully Illustrated Book, September 14, 2014
This review is from: Bonsai (Hardcover)
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is a beautifully illustrated book, all the instructions on growing and caring for bonsai are depicted with lush photos throughout. Lots of different species are show with full page photos, the book makes a wonderful coffee table book even if you don't grow and care for your own bonsai. I always am buying small bonsai and have one I've had for a couple years so I hope to get more tips from this book on how to care for them as I have definitely killed far too many of them!

Crayola Mat-Ocean Doodle Magic Color Marker
Crayola Mat-Ocean Doodle Magic Color Marker

4.0 out of 5 stars Included Markers a Disappointment but Otherwise Works Well, September 14, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is a neat plastic roll up mat that you can use erasable markers on. The "magic" markers it comes with are almost invisible when you first draw with them and then quickly darken. You only get 4 of them and of those, 1 did not work very well and the others seem to be quickly losing steam (i.e. drying out). However the mat does work fine with regular washable markers as well and we preferred these for their more vibrant colors, not to mention much easier to find...I'm not even sure there *are* other colors of the "magic" ones available so they seem to be a gimmick that was hardly worth including. While there is storage on the outside of the rolled up mat, there are loops on the inside for holding markers but only include room for the 4 included ones. The kids enjoyed using the magic eraser a lot, and they seemed to really like using the mat as an alternative to regular paper, making it a nice alternative particularly to bring on trips.
