5.0 out of 5 stars Get outdoors! Cannot wait to try with the little ones in big field at night!, May 31, 2016

Just tried them out after receiving them today. DO follow the helicopter wings folding directions carefully. Actually, fold them carefully as suggested. I'd use a thin frosting knife or pharmacist's tablet counting spatula or the like to make the straight line creases as marked. This does NOT mean that you have to have sharp folds, only accurate and equal folds matching the other wing. More fold created well and then opened or adjusted, based on test flights, is the way to go. The rubber band launcher handles are well designed and hold onto the substantial rubber band. I like them better than the original ArrowCopters with the wood dowel handles. Have fun with these. Stay away from trees and roofs with windy days. Shoot angled into the wind to have the copter fly back to you. You will like having the LED light help you track the arc up and the spin down and you can even chase them down and catch them in mid flight! Mine were provided by [...]

3.0 out of 5 stars NOT Printed by DownEast Books - made in china., May 31, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Great story and great artwork in the book. Have read this many times, as a kid, when my grandparents knew the author and family and I had the original issue book, and in the years since. I bought this to give to my grands. DownEast Books used to be a good imprint. But, I'm disappointed that they have 'degraded' the copyright to this 'National Book Network' group and that they, in turn, are having this printed in CHINA. If that does not bother you, get the book. This is how we lobstered in the 1950s and 1960s along the coast of Maine. The book fabrication art rendering are, otherwise, good.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not large enough diameter, nor wide enough winding face, May 3, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
no diameter size provided, so with this now in hand, I know it's too small to wind in much line with any speed. only 5.75 inches across and the throat is narrow, only 0.75 inch, so you are going to 'miss the curve' when quick-winding. it DOES say that it's spiral-wound line and not braided line, which is really a prerequisite, in my opinion. this is prolly only good for a kids kite, but the test weight is too high. I'd also check to see if the final end of the line is or is not firmly tied on the spool, so your kite, should it get to the full length, not just fly off loose! I'd recommend a HALO spool from INTO THE WIND, which would have proper braided line, instead of this.

5.0 out of 5 stars CALLING ALL BIRDS, January 4, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Well designed. Good size. Plastic components from recycled plastic. Tray-feeding birds were into it on the first day installed, adding to two hanging feeders on same 8 foot pole. Bottom tray is perforated so seed dries out after any weather exposure. Center plank available for various mounting needs.

4-2-16 Have photos to add, but no way to add, it seems. But, others have good pictures of the underside of crossbar and how much space you have for mounting flange for pole.

2.0 out of 5 stars Fun for balancing; not really for mathematical visualizations, January 4, 2016
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Plan Toy Balancing Monkeys (Toy)
Not enough points on which to hang monkeys and not enough monkeys and trunk is not high enough (even if palm fronds are not extended for more hang points). That is the only way to have more mathematical permutations in the balancing game. The monkeys are cute enough and the overall design is good, otherwise.

A new variation on Pick Up Stix or KerBlunk, or Jenga, etc. The changing balancing and tipping is a fun challenge.

1.0 out of 5 stars Buy the blinds WITH the Somfy motor, already installed, and they will cost less., December 20, 2015
COST is ALL WRONG. We have just purchased from Steve's Blinds, FOUR Bali cellular blinds 36 wide by 62 long with motorized function and wall switch remote and these cost $1100 total. So, by this $200 cost, it would mean the blinds cost only $300 for four. YOU price out the cost of UNmotorized equals and you will see this price is not attractive unless you are a millionaire DIY. Programming instructions for Somfy are UNDERwealming. The 'programming switch' is inside the rectangular hole ON THE END, NEXT to the outlets for the batteryconnect and the antenna wires. NOT the rectangle on the long face which would face the window glazing.

2.0 out of 5 stars There are better out there - GO Intermatic, December 10, 2015
This has nothing to do with the VENDOR. I have the prior iteration of #42-1006, four of them actually, and see them offered elsewhere on Amazon - some as 'refurbished'. These do what they are supposed to do, but they are noisy. I do not know if it's the tolerance of the axles on the gears or the housing for the whole mechanism. Doesn't matter - you can hear the gear action - a not-subtle whirring grind - 10 feet away, 5 feet away THRU the wall. I have over indoor timers purchased over 25 years; these four are the only ones that do this. Use them where you do not care about irritating noise. My best timers are Intermatic TN311 units - simple to use - place the green pick where you want power on and red pick where you want it to stop. QUIET. Don't have to figure out if pull out pin means ON or OFF. DO have to keep track of the colored picks, which can be lost, since they can pull loose. I keep each unit in a ziploc bag to avoid this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like the design, November 19, 2015

Like the design. Have yet to try. Will have to update after. Proof will be how well it makes a impression in the dough and how well dough retains design after cooking. Also how dough does or doesn't stick to form.
