Braun Ear Thermometer
Braun Ear Thermometer
Price: $39.88

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick, convenient, and confidence building, October 5, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Feeling warm, clammy or think that you have a fever? Too often you just grin and bear it, after all its inconvenient to retrieve a traditional thermometer, put it in your mouth and then wait for the results. The Braun Ear Thermometer solves all of that. Non invasive, accurate and easy to use; the combination makes for a most valuable addition to your medicine cabinet. If you have small children, then this is a must have particularly as school and the flu seasons kick in.

The device is roughly the size of an electric shaver. It fits easily into your hand. It is easy to store and therefore easy to find. For those with a shallow medicine cabinet then you may need to store it elsewhere. The device fits well in a kitchen drawer making it readily accessible throughout your busy day.

So if you have ever wondered if you had a fever or needed to know if others have a fever, then this is a recommended addition to your home medicine chest.

4.0 out of 5 stars If you have been away from electric razors consider this one as it gives a close and even cut, October 1, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I had a Norelco razor a long time ago and was curious to see how they have improved. They are signficantly improved and delvier a close and consistent shave. The re-designed the shaving head which makes it much more flexible, easier to manuever around your face and providing a smoother cut. The variable razor speeds deliver different types of shaves.

The razor charges quickly and holds a charge effectively. The cleaning systems that comes with the razor is innovative but it takes up considerable space in the bathroom. Those with limited space on their sink or vanity should recognize that the real estate. This is one reason for a four star review.

The shaver delivers a high quality shave, particulalry good for an electric razor. It is comparable to shaving with a blade. I found the best results shaving with my face dry before getting into the shower as that provides an even shave as I missed less spots than using a disposable razor in the shower.

Recommended for those looking to upgade their electric shave. Blade shavers may want to consider this option as well particularly if they frequently miss parts of their shave.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good knife not just for bread alone, October 1, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I know its a bread knife and it works well cutting bread, but it can cut much more. We have used it for tomatoes, cucumbers and other light cutting tasks. The blade is particularly thin and flexible which helps it take on slicing tasks. The blade is an integral part of the handle with a good rubber grip.

A great addition to the kitchen and this knife is useful as it cuts more than just bread.

5.0 out of 5 stars An essential for any kitchen given its versatility and usability., September 25, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This knife is a great partner in your kitchen. This knife is well made, easy to grip and it feels good in your hand. It is a heavy knife, particularly for a paring knife. The weight gives the knife a center of gravity feeling and tactically greater control. This really distinguishes it from other pairing knives that are lighter but require more concentrated control. The blade length is good for a pairing knife with a sharp tip great for coring or making the initial intention or cut.

It is recommended as a great kitchen tool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Immersive, engaging, classic Gibson a book that requires reading not skimming, September 12, 2014
This review is from: The Peripheral (Hardcover)
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is classic William Gibson, rich in its depiction of the near future. Dialog driven, Gibson injects the reader directly into the action with little scaffolding or explanation that can be disconcerting, particularly to people who are not used to reading this type of book. I can tell you that its well worth the effort as the characters reveal themselves rather than begin told about them.

By just jumping in, it takes some time to get a feel for the book. Things clear up around page 83 as you build context around the characters and the settings. Without giving too much away, The Peripheral is a story of multiple worlds, situations and timelines creating a rich background and exploration of very interesting ideas concerning the near future.

Not quite as dark as Gibson's other works but not a light work either. Few authors can inform the reader about a possible future via character dialog rather than long descriptive prose. Gibson is a master at this and The Peripheral reflects that mastery.

It is a tough read at the start, but well worth the investment. Something that needs to be read, every word as they all have meaning and its easy to miss something. So don't plan to skim it, sample it or read a few pages then put it down for a week. Take some time and enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Efficient and effective but takes some getting used to, September 3, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
If you core strawberries on a regular basis with a paring knife, then you know the control you get and the ability to quickly deal with any soft spots.

If you core strawberries occasionally, then you know the frustration of digging out the core, cutting too much, etc.

This product is perfect for those who occasionally core strawberries as it provides a quick, easy and no mess approach to accomplishing a sporadic task. If you core strawberries on a regular basis, you may find yourself frustrated as you need two tools -- the corer and your paring knife.

The action of the twist and pop takes some time to get used to, but the results are consistent.

While not a must have in your kitchen, if you enjoy fresh berries in the summer, then consider this product. If you already core strawberries with a knife without thinking, then suggest you go for a different kitchen gadget.

3.0 out of 5 stars A good product with some surprising short comings, September 3, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This is a good charging station and a good addition to your desk. Its not as mobile as the description has it as its just to bulking to pop into your briefcase and carry back and forth to the office. So if you would rather dock your iPhone than cable it to your computer than this is good.

But there are a few striking design shortcomings to the product. First, the device is intended to support charging an iPhone while it is in its case. This works great for just about every case except of the Apple leather case, which is surprising. Second, in supporting docking the phone with its case it means that it does not support the iPhone without its case. There is just too much space between the back of the station and the connector.

The second design shortcoming is that the dock blocks access to the headphone port requiring you to sync with a bluetooth speaker which may be ok since the phone will not be discharging because its attached to a charger. Still this is a rather glaring design issue in the product.

If you want a desktop docking station and do not have an Apple leather case, then this product will work for you. But if you do then you will see these limitations in the design.

5.0 out of 5 stars The next evolution in iPad Keyboards, August 20, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The Belkin Thin Type Keyboard represents the next evolution of the Tablet keyboard cover. Optimized for the iPad - Air the keyboard provides an improved typing experience. The keys are the same size as the Logitech keyboard with greater spacing between the keys all in a footprint that is smaller than the original iPad. The keyboard is tilted making it even more comfortable typing while still providing a workable cover. The overall cover design is an appealing with brushed aluminum metal with an industrial wave design is also easy to carry.

Overall recommended

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well, handy USB charger, light weight and bluetooth enabled., August 17, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The best combination of comfort and utility. This is the third Adonit device I own in my quest to find a stylus that would give me a moleskin like writing experience on my iPad. The three include the Jot Touch, the Jot Script and the Jot Pro. Of the three this is the best combination of blue tooth connectivity coupled with a comfortable writing style and recharge ability. The Jot Script is good, but heavy as it carries a battery in it. The Jot Pro, which has been around for a while uses the plastic disk technology and requires you to unscrew and re screw on the cap.

The Jot Touch gives you all the latest functionality of the Script without the battery weight and the writing precision without the fear of losing the plastic disk. That coupled with the USB based charger and you have a start of the art iPad stylus. The barrel is a little wide similar to a thick fountain pen. That takes some getting used, particularly if you write with a ball point pen. The Jot Pro is a narrower but less functional device.

The Touch works well with Penultimate and other Jot based applications, which is a plus. Overall the best of the stylus available right now.

Lean Customer Development: Building Products Your Customers Will Buy
Lean Customer Development: Building Products Your Customers Will Buy

Price: $18.29

5.0 out of 5 stars Delivers the 'what to do' when you want to become more customer centric, August 12, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
Lean Customer Development provides a highly actionable and engaging for product managers, consultants or others interested in developing customers and customer centric products. This book has now become an essential part of my practice library as it is clearly written, provides tons of useful tools, questions and points to keep in mind, its organized around the customer development process and its easy to put these ideas into action.

It is lean in the sense of its focus, the absence of superfluous or self aggrandizing text and other forms of business book waste. It is not lean in its content, focus or value.

Highly recommended as a book for those responsible for generating new ideas, offerings, products or services. The tools and techniques in the book are not earth shattering or necessarily new, but I have yet to seem them all concentrated in a clear way in a single book. This is one I will refer to time and time again because it is a practitioners book written by practitioners. Just look at the chapter titles and you get a sense of the richness of the book.

Why do you need customer development?
Where should I start?
Who should I be talking to?
What should I be learning?
Get out of the building?
What des a validated hypothesis look like?
What kind of minimum viable product should I build?
How does customer development work when you already have customers?
Ongoing customer development

This book is immediately applicable to working with customers or developing new customer centric products. Alvarez offers an approach rather than a 'system' meaning that its easy to tailor, adapt and adjust to your situation.

Rarely has a book come out with such clarity and utility as Lean Customer Development. You do not need to read the other Lean series books to understand this one, but it would not hurt.

There are a few challenges in the book, most of the examples are from software start-up companies and the book can be a bit procedural at times, but these are minor distractions.

One of the best uses I can think of for this book is as a means to understand, collaborate with and contribute to your organizations customer and product development efforts. The best way to do that is to take the questions and overall approach outlined in this book and look for or ask where your company formulates hypothesis, conducts interviews, invalidates hypothesis etc.

Highly recommended for anyone looking to become more customer oriented or customer centric.
