1.0 out of 5 stars Oleophobic coat lasts for 1 week???, September 30, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
***Edit***
I've had the screen protector on for about 1 week. It's obvious that the oleophobic coating wears off pretty quickly. It was impressive the first few days to prevent oil and fingerprints. However, that quality has quickly faded. Not a good screen protector. Also average customer service.

Flawed fit. The cutout does not align up. It does not extend to the edge of the screen.

It comes with dust removal stickers, but they actually leave marks. Don't use it. Instead, use simple scotch tape. It ruined one of the protectors for me.

Their customer service was not too helpful. I was asked to take multiple photos of the poor alignment and how their dust removal stickers are defective. I'm going to submit those. If the process takes too long, I'm just going to return the item and ask for a refund.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent case, but some flaws, September 29, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I previously owned the acase supraleggra pro for iphone 4/4s. That one fit perfectly. Phone felt secure and it offered great protection from drops and bumps.

The new case for the iphone 5 offers good protection. However, the phone does not feel secure in the case. Furthermore, the hard plastic part slips off very easily.. a little too easily.

I'm going to contact acase to see if there are any other options. Otherwise, I'll have to return the case.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good supplement to your studying, September 18, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This book is useful if used correctly. Should this be your main source for studying? Definitely not!

But if you use it as an introduction or refresher to each system, ie.. GI, then it's great. It'll focus you on the high yield topics and takes it a bit more in depth than First Aid or Kaplan medessentials. While it's important to understand and memorize the high yield facts, it's also good to have an understanding of high yield cases that show up recurrently.

Use it, but only to supplement your studying. Look at the book for what it is. It's a book of high yield cases. It accomplishes it's goal in a succinct manner.

4.0 out of 5 stars Should not be the main source, but a supplement, January 7, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a good REVIEW book. Don't expect it to teach you or explain anything because that's not the purchase. It has great charts and tables that are well organized.

It is often referred to as "kaplan's version of first aid"

However, I have to say that it is better than first aid in how well it organizes information. Sometimes, though, it includes a little too much detail.

A combination of medessentials and first aid, in my opinion, is better than having just one.

If you had to pick 1, however, go with first aid. It's the gold standard.

4.0 out of 5 stars Classic first aid, but now with colored diagrams, December 29, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Edit: 1/9/12
Changing my review to 4 stars. I just tried to highlighting as another review mentioned and it does indeed smear the ink a bit. But using a bit higher quality sharpie highlighters, it didn't really smear much, if at all. While I don't really highlight first aid (b/c everything's relevant and important), others might find it a flaw.

Edit: 1/6/12

After using for a week, I really have to say this update is MUCH better than previous updates. Is it perfect? No. Definitely not. But did they make a lot of changes for the better?

in the 2010 => 2011: the book came out almost identical, except for a changing the cover

in the 2011 => 2012: there are multiple changes, which in my personal opinion, is for the better. They took the colored platelets at the end and incorporated them into the text itself. Why is this beneficial? Well, it allows you to make faster associations. There've been many studies on memory that have shown pictures/diagrams etc will improve recall.

also, people complain about errors. All books have errors! But what makes First Aid so great is that they have an errata that is CONSTANTLY being updated. You'll be hard pressed to find any resource that does this as frequently.

----------

I received my copy in the mail this morning. I've looked through it for a few hours and here are my thoughts...

First Aid will always be amazing for the boards. This edition, in my opinion, far exceeds their usual yearly updates. They got rid of the individual colored images and integrated the diagrams/pictures into the text itself--NEXT to the related topic. The good thing is that they didn't over-do the pictures. First aid has always been, and always should be, a review/outline of the most pertinent material for step 1. They have not abandoned that purpose.

In summary, I believe this is a great updated edition of first aid. Must better than previous editions in which the only thing they updated was 2010 => 2011 on the cover. It's definitely a great buy!!

I'll try to update this with any errors or other thoughts.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cheap macbook pro cover, May 17, 2011

Cheap alternative to other dust covers. Feels okay.

However, it does not allow the keyboard light to shine through.

Nevertheless, it is cheaper than other keyboard dust covers and does the job.

3.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre case, April 19, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This case is stylish and looks great.

However, when I put my ipad inside, the clips barely fit over it. The two middle hinges (which is suppose to anchor the ipad) seem very flimsy and could easily break. Also, the closing hinge is very tight, making it hard to open.

That being said, it's a good case overall, but it has some flaws.

5.0 out of 5 stars tastes amazing, April 16, 2011

A great flavorful coffee. I used it with my keurig (with solofill) and it works perfectly. The keurig usually needs a fairly flavorful beans to brew a good cup. This is cheap and tastes great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy case for ipad 2 with sleep/wake function, April 14, 2011
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Update (4/27/11): best customer service. My had a defect where a clip was loose(probably damaged during shipping so not manufacturers fault) and Mr. Dodge replied promptly to my emails. He sent me a replacement asap and now it works perfectly.

This case cuts out all of the imperfections of other cases, including the targus 360 (very thick, no sleep/wake), yoobao 2 (triggering sleep function when folded back), and other cases such as bearmotion & cheap cases on ebay/buy (remember the $15 "leather case") (that do not protect the corners). (Yes I have tried all of them. Why? Because I'm trying to find the best case for my ipad lol)

I have a pet peeve about covers that do not protect the corners. After all, the only reason I get a full body case would be to give it some protection from an accidental drop or simply day-to-day usage (of stuffing into a bag, etc). So if a cover doesn't protect the corners, then it's failing to do an important task... protect it from damage during accidental drops!

Quality is great. Leather feels nice, not like the cheap pigskin or pleather. It's extremely sturdy. I'm not sure what they used, but it certainly is not cardboard backings. I wanna say hard plastic, but it feels like metal (a bit of exaggeration, but it is very strong).

Only downside is weight. Because of how well it protects your ipad, it is a bit heavier than other cases. But personally, I'm willing to trade a bit of weight for protection. Also, I'm not sure how the case will hold up in the long run in terms of durability of the hinge/clips. There's no mention of warranty on the amazon page or in the packaging. However, the original had great reviews so I'm guessing it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Perhaps if mobilevision would like to update us on the warranty info, this could be the perfect ipad 2 case.
