2.0 out of 5 stars Forced upgrade from Men of War, August 11, 2014

If you are upgrading from MOW, Caveat emptor. First off, how can basically the same game change so much?

These are what I've noticed so for. I'm not a gamer, just an occasional player. I've owned Red Tide(Should Have been Multi-player), MOW, MOW AS Beta and AS1 Now AS2.

1. Infantry now have bionic eyes, they can now spot you in an instant, no more hiding in bushes.
2. Flame thrower no longer burns enemies automatically, you have to be in direct control.
3.US tanks are made of Aluminium Foil (The Slugger in MOW was top dog) The Pershing is made of Plastic.
4. The Officer in MOW had a wider and longer field of view. In AS2 he probably sees a relative few yards.
5. Snipers have the same shortcomings as the officer.

As for Steam
They knew or at least should have known Gamespy was dead 3 years ago. You'd think they'd capitalized on the opportunity to improve their Lobby situation, no! There is no local or central lobby for games Like in Gamespy, where you could go and view all games hosted while chatting or see if your buddies are on. So basically if you're not in a game you're in Steam Limbo somewhere. Additionally, the games don't automatically refresh, so in order to see new game listed while in Steam limbo you have to manually refresh the Limbo lobby. Also, I'm yet to see a 6x6 (12) and a 8x8(16) player map, as the previous games had. Steam pings are horrible, I've seen my pings go from 30 to 600ms in the same game form a regionals host.

Get your Coffee ready, and pick up your daily paper, because this bad boy is like molasses running up a hill in the winter. Why did they make this slower than my previous mx822? Otherwise its ok.

5.0 out of 5 stars For the price, size and effectiveness, 5 stars, September 22, 2012
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have an old dv9843 where the Intel 4965agn card disable whenever the AC charger is plugged in and the battery is not fully charged, a real nuisance. Anyway after looking around for a few, I decide to purchase 2 nano usb n adapters. The Airlink AWLL5099 and This one the Edimax EW-7811Un. Both worked, however, the Edimax installed with windows 7 drivers; it was plug and play. The Airlink 5099 needed the cd,(I used the Edimax cd also for the connection interface software) interestingly both have a Realtek chip.

The Edimax signal strength was ranging from 64 to 92 percent about 50 plus feet away from my router and fluctuating between 90 and 150mbps download and upload, while the quality link was 100%. The Airlink 5099 was at 15mbps.(I didn't try the Airlink any closer to the router, I stuck with the Edimax)

Additionally, the Edimax drivers can be upgraded to 2012 drivers the one on the cd and Edimax's website have a 2010 date when installed. If you search Realtek's website for RTL8192CU chipset, You'll be able to install newer drivers. Keep in mind you will have to do a force install through windows device manager search for nano usb adapter properties, driver update and search for the drivers within the downloaded drivers. The benefits are you'll add two extra properties the the cards advance tab. those properties are bandwidth which allows you to change between 20-40mhz and 20mhz.The second allows you change the Wifi config from performance to Wifi. So for so good.
