4.0 out of 5 stars Works Well, December 22, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The TP-Link Archer C5 AC1200 router works well. It gave me a better signal out on my porch, which has been prone to weak signals with my old router. I did not experience any issues with this router's performance, so overall very good. Just a heads up. If you are trying to use your iPhone to manage your network, the Tether app, which is supposed to make wireless management easier, was not not currently working on iOS8 when I attempted to use it.

A noted taxidermist of big game animals is found strung up and eviscerated like a hunter’s fresh kill. Boston Police detective Jane Rissoli is on the killer’s trail. Just like a hunter she is trying to track down her man, for isn’t that what a detective does? Medical examiner, Maura Isles, approaches the case from a more scientific aspect. The two strong female characters are both well equipped to do their jobs, yet not without emotional baggage. Ace homicide detective, Rissoli, is smart and determined, yet she still carries the physical and emotional scars from her almost fatal run in a few years ago with a twisted serial killer. Maura, analytical and fastidious in her research, hides her own emotional scars from a psychotic mother who continues to haunt Maura, even though her mother is locked away in jail. The analysis of the forensic clues of the latest murder lead her down a totally different path than Jane. As the body count increases and the investigation bogs down, the two friends, in order to capture the hunter stalking in Boston, will need to get help from the sole survivor of a six year old murder that took place in Africa. If you are a fan of the TNT television show, Rissoli & Ilses, you will love the series of books that started it all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun To Learn, December 17, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I am giving this to my nieces for Christmas. I needed to write the review earlier, so I asked my neighbor if it was okay to have her child try it out for me. Well, he loved it. Now my neighbor says she is going to have to get one for her child since he was so enamored with it. The child sees himself in the action on the television screen. He uses almost all of his body to interact with the game. The console does have to be set up initially by an adult, involving hooking up to the internet. There is a quick learning curve to understand the controls. The instructions in the game are spoken to the child and are simple to follow. Letter and word recognition are taught in a simple and entertaining way. This is a great way to learn and have fun and exercise all at the same time.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Good Fit, December 14, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I found the Siberia v3 headphones to have very detailed and spacious sound. The stereo imaging is also very good. You can really hear where the enemies are at. These headphones do have extra bass compared to most, but it's a good thing for video games because you can really hear and feel the explosions and other action cues. The Siberia v3 headphones are large but very light. I was able to wear them for 3 hours without discomfort. I also really like the retractable mic and mute switch. These are really good headphones for the price.

4.0 out of 5 stars You'll Stay Awake With This One, December 10, 2014
This review is from: Nightmares! (Hardcover)
Charlie Laird’s mom passed away a few years ago. He thought he was managing to deal with the sorrow. Until recently, when a woman named Charlotte DeChant, moved into town. She took possession of the the hideous purple mansion on top of the hill overlooking the town of Cypress Creek. Within a few days she filled the old house to overflowing with a jungle of creepy plants and opened an herbalist shop in town. There Charlie and his friends spied her dispensing all sorts of weird concoctions to the local townsfolk. In less than a year, much to Charlie’s chagrin, Charlotte and Charlie’s dad, Andrew, were married. To make matters worse, Andrew, Charlie, and Charlie’s younger brother, Jack all moved into the creepy mansion with Charlotte, leaving all of Charlie’s fond memories behind in his old house. Charlie thought everything Charlotte did was very weird. In fact, he thought she was a witch, a real witch. He even started calling her his stepmonster. As things continued to get weirder, Charlie started having nightmares about being carried off by a witch. A witch, who in fact looked very much like Charlotte. The nightmares were so real that Charlie tried staying awake night after night to avoid them. This only succeeded in making him cranky and tired both at home and at school. His new principal at school, Mr. Stearns, was mean enough to give any student nightmares. It seemed to Charlie that Mr. Stearns was especially picking on him. Charlie soon found that he was unable to get along with anyone, his friends at school, his parents, even his brother, Jack. He refused to tell anyone what was bothering him and why he couldn’t sleep. The witch in his dreams had told him, if she couldn’t have him, she would take his brother back to the land of nightmares instead of him. Will Charlie be brave enough to face up to his fears and follow the witch and his brother into the land of nightmares? Will he be able to battle his worst nightmares and save Jack? Will he succumb to his fears and loose Jack? Will they find their way out of the land of nightmares or be trapped there forever? I liked this book. It took a while to really get interesting, but then took off and delivered a good story. The book was provided for review by Random House Children’s Books.

4.0 out of 5 stars Plug Me In, December 9, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
This review is supposed to be for the 3000 mAh (Credit Card Size) battery, but Amazon sent me the 2000 mAh battery instead. This review will apply for both, since they are essentially the same aside from the capacity of the battery. The charger is not exactly credit card sized, but it is close. It is only a little bit larger in length and width. It is definitely thicker, being about the size of six credit cards in depth. The unit is still very portable. It is extremely light weight and can easily fit in your pocket or handbag. I do wish the imbedded USB cable was a little bit longer. It would make connecting to your phone easier. The charger has a nice rubberized texture to the back allowing for a good grip. It is well made overall and works perfectly.

4.0 out of 5 stars Power to Weight Ratio, December 7, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
The first thing you notice is the weight. At eight pounds it is a pretty hefty power tool. Fortunately, it removes wheel lug nuts in a flash. The rocker switch is easy and convenient to use. The heavy metal casting should prove very durable in the shop. The only draw back is the weight.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quiet, smooth operation., December 3, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I really love this fan. It is much quieter than other fans I have tried. The four speed push button technology is very efficient. From the low speed, very quiet, Sleep mode to the highest seed, Power mode, the fan works smoothly and without any vibration. It also has a button to engage the optional Oscillation mode to move the air from side to side. The fan is small enough to use as a table top fan, but powerful enough to move air around a room. The very long cord, about six or seven feet, has a fused safety plug that will cut off power to the fan if any electrical fault occurs. This is a great idea if you are leaving the fan on at night while you sleep.

The Hangman's Song (Detective Inspector Mclean)
The Hangman's Song (Detective Inspector Mclean)
by James Oswald
Edition: Paperback
Price: $10.51

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Find, December 1, 2014
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I can't believe I haven't heard of this author before. James Oswald writes a captivating mystery touched ever so slightly by the occult. Detective Inspector Tony McLean works for the Edinburgh, Scotland, police force. In this third installment of the series, we find McLean's current girl friend, Emma, in the hospital in a coma. While McLean is frustrated that he can't do anything to help her, he buries himself in work. A suspicious suicide catches his attention at work. A young man has apparently hanged himself, yet McLean feels something is odd about it. When another body is found killed in the same way, McLean's instincts point to murder. His boss and fellow detectives can't or won't see the connection. Inspector McLean has to fight to keep the investigation open, while looking after Emma, who has come out of the coma, yet is not herself. Evil forces may be involved in both circumstances. Great fun.
