4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Form - Great Function, February 27, 2015
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These 10-ounce glasses are uniquely designed. The bottom is concave with the inside bottom very slightly raised. The edge of the glass is just under 1/4-inch in thickness and its difficult to tell if its hollow or a solid glass around the perimeter. Regardless, it does keep your drinks at an even temperature. The form is very basic, with a rounded top edge. But who needs fancy etching for a simple whisky/drink glass at seven-dollars each?

Ice balls such as these -

- are perfect for keeping your drinks cooler longer. Item supplied for review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice For A Small Area, February 25, 2015
The price is right as is the size. However, don't get too excited. The small size is great for use with a laptop or iPad. It pairs flawlessly and quickly with a beep.

The sound is well balanced, but with a small speaker (about 1" in diameter) you can expect clean balanced sound but not monstrous. The internal battery will play back up to about six hours of music without recharging (depending on the volume you are using). Charging is done with the included USB to micro-USB cord supplied. Charging is about 2-3 hours.

The unit also will take incoming phone calls and has a tiny microphone so you can carry on a conversation that may suddenly come in while you are listening. Songs can be played by reversing or forward. The fast forward/reverse is separate from the volume up/down, which is nice to have.

The highs, mid-range and lows were clear, but not completely distinct. It's obvious with the light weight of the unit that the magnet is not heavy, which would produce a good deep bass.

The unit contains the charging micro-USB port, a 3.5 mm internal female plug for using outside music sources (other phones or tablets). Product supplied for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Attractive & Well Designed, February 25, 2015
The price is right as is the size. The small clean size is great for use with a laptop or iPad. It pairs flawlessly and quickly with a beep.

The sound is well balanced and has two speakers (about 1-1/4" in diameter). You can expect clean balanced sound but not monstrous. The internal battery will play back up to about six hours of music without recharging (depending on the volume you are using). Charging is done with the included USB to micro-USB cord supplied.

The unit also will take incoming phone calls and has a tiny microphone so you can carry on a conversation that may suddenly come in while you are listening. Songs can be played by reversing or forward. The fast forward/reverse is separate from the volume up/down, which is nice to have.

The highs, mid-range and lows were clear, but the bass was a little disappointing (it's called 'enhanced'). It was clear but not punchy, like you'd expect in comparison to the highs and mid-ranges. A heavier magnet could help with the bass.

I did like to top of the unit with flush, well lit buttons for fast forward/reverse, volume up/down, call-in, pause/play. The unit contains the charging micro-USB port, a 3.5 mm internal female plug for using outside music sources (other phones or tablets). It’s a nice little balanced external Bluetooth speaker that serves a good purpose. A rocker it isn't but I think most people would be happy with the sound quality and the general appearance and use. Product supplied for an honest review.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nose Hairs Are Disgusting, February 23, 2015
Vine Customer Review of Free Product (What's this?)
I've unsuccessfully used scissors and manual nose hair trimmers for years, cutting myself frequently. The Philips Norelco Trimmer has proven to be efficient and safe. I can run it round my nose and ears and be as close as I want, knowing it will never cut me. The blades make a tiny snipping noise when a hair is cut.

I don't know what the blades are made out of, but they are sharp and efficient. The unit also comes with a blade cover and the AA battery which is nice to just have right away. I don't know how long it will last, but it seems sturdy and cuts very close. Cleaning is easy - just run it under water for several seconds to eliminate skin or hair. For the price, this is a real keeper. Even if it only lasts six months, I'd buy another - it's that good a device.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly Designed, February 20, 2015
This 10-ounce plastic (BPA Free) clear bottle provides for vertical feeding preventing gas build-up and reflux disease. The kit comes with three sets of nipples (slow, medium and regular) along with necessary tubing and a cleaning scrub pipe brush. The nipples are held on by screw caps and there is a clear plastic cover that fits snugly on top of the bottle to prevent spills.

The kit is designed with a vented disc which improves air and liquids flow. Its lightweight and compact, making for ease while traveling or just at home. The price is perfect and the kit is washing machine compatible but better when hand washed for durability. The price is perfect. Sample provided for review.

2.0 out of 5 stars Basic SD Card, February 20, 2015
I am usually skeptical about any Asian products without instructions or specifications. However, for a standard "point `n shoot" camera usage, this SD Card works just fine. I just wouldn't trust its quality on a high end camera. However, the price is far far too high.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Sound And Price, February 18, 2015
At first, these headphones are odd to put on, but the right ear does take the stiff cable and securely fasten it around your right ear. The left ear is simply held on by the lightly tight force of the col. You can fast forward, reverse, pause and play as well as take incoming phone calls. The buttons on the side take some getting used to, but are slightly raised for finger touch control.

The sound is impressive with a nice balanced range of highs, mid-range and bass that is comfortable. Even at the loudest volume it did not distort. This is a sign of a well-made Bluetooth headset. MPOW is the only other one that is as good with sound and that doesn't have phone call capability and are `in-ear' buds. The fact that it does fit in the ear but rather, on the ear makes for comfort (padding) as well as not completely blocking outside noise. But the sound is so good it doesn't matter. The price is right and the quality is great. Plus it fits in a pocket all coiled up nice and easily. Product supplied for review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Short, Sweet And An Overlooked Gem, February 18, 2015
This review is from: Life in a Tin Can (Audio CD)
Even though this CD barely garnered a hit, "Saw A New Morning" and was poorly received by the public, the concerts were still going strong during this period (1973). Hedging more towards country, The Bee Gees crafted some fine acoustic work here with, "South Dakota Morning, "Living In Chicago" and the upbeat rocker, "Come Home Johnny Bridie".

"I Don't Wanna Be The One" and "My Life Has Been A Song" are a tad bit of the old cornball ballads. However, "While I Play" is a Barry Gibb standout cut. Recorded with such celebrated studio musicians as, Jim Keltner on drums, pianist Jane Getz, 'Sneaky Pete' on steel guitar and the Bee Gees own, Alan Kendall, this album is first rate. It is a shame it only clocks in at less than 33 minutes.

Recording during one of the slowest periods of their career in Los Angeles, this album pumps out more country than pop or rock, but still displays the amazing song-writing talents and guitar work the Bee Gees were known for, especially in this early American period. They appeared on the Johnny Carson show frequently and the Midnight Special, such was their popular draw.

5.0 out of 5 stars The True Concept Album, February 18, 2015
This review is from: Trafalgar (Audio CD)
Although "Odessa" has been stated to be a concept album, "Trafalgar" seems to be more consistent in it's theme and musical harmony. Taking the motif from the battle of Trafalgar, this album excels in diversity and vocal variety. "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" was #1 in the United States for four weeks but "Israel" was only released in Europe as a single. No matter. "Israel" shows demonstrates Barry's flair for screaming rhythm and blues with a marvelously typical passion.

"Remembering" and "Dearest" are two ballads that Robin and Barry suck sorrow from their gut that surpasses anything they have sung before this album. Maurice also excels with a strong, consistent heavy bass and a piano pounding energy in songs such as "Somebody Stop The Music", "Israel" and "Walking Back To Waterloo". He was quoted as saying that Barry loved all his multi-layered work on the song "Trafalgar" and told him not to change a thing. He stated he felt surprised and happy to gain brother Barry's unconditional approval. "When Do I" shocks the listener with Robin's vocal range, stretching his pronounced vocals to the limit. Robin also screams out the blues on "Lion In Winter", fading into a rising orchestral arrangement. Maurice gets his way with "It's Just The Way" with some nice overlayed guitar work. Want to rock? "Somebody Stop The Music" pulls out all the stops and proves the Gibbs can still belt them out.

On a more somber note, I wonder why "Don't Wanna Live Inside Myself" was released as a US single. It is far too long for AM radio and somewhat sullen. However, it did get to #52 on the AM charts, so it couldn't have been that unpopular. What better a song to finish this masterpiece than "Walking Back To Waterloo", a grand finale. What make this album so consistent? All songs have a orchestral lushness that carries from song to song, giving it a rich and appealing feel. Once Maurice was joking that there were too many strings on this album, but in person he said he felt it was a "wonderful" disc. Now this is a concept album and it is no small wonder that Polydor chose to release it on Ultradisc Gold.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful 'Hungry Period" of Talent, February 18, 2015
This review is from: To Whom It May Concern (Audio CD)
Released in one of the Gibb's slow periods (1972), this CD contains mostly a collection of individual works, most of it hodgepodge, but there is still a humble brilliance to most of the songs. However, for the real Bee Gees fan, it is a must have.

Other than the big hit, "Run To Me", other standout cuts are, "Road To Alaska", a unique toe-tapping rocker frequently used in concerts and "Bad Bad Dreams" (kudos to lead guitarist Alan Kendall), "Paper Mache, Cabbages & Kings", a fun novelty song that bounces around with oddball lyrics, "You Know It's For You", A Maurice Gibb song that is one of his best lively mood songs and "Alive", a poorly received Top forty single that is one of the best written ballads the Bee Gees have done. The mood varies and the variety of instruments played solely by Maurice is remarkable. It is worth a listen if not a purchase.

Downplayed by the Bee Gees, this album still represents their 'hungry period' and some of the vocal and guitar/keyboard work is remarkable. It may not be a concept album, but it provides an ample supply of finely crafted pop tunes. Even the very short, "Please Don't Turn out the Lights" manages to exude a mood by the end of its brief harmonic burst.
