5.0 out of 5 stars Serious Gamers MUST have 128MB of RAM and above, September 15, 2000
I used to have 64MB of RAM for ages and thought to double and see the difference. I wasn;t sure how noticable it will be but trust me you will see the difference.
The 2 main differences from upgrading from 64 to 128 are:
1) Games will load quicker (levels, and startup) 2) There will be less Hard disc activity when playing: this means that there will less jerkovision as the processor executes from memory rather than slower hard disc.
You can nver have enough RAM!! Its q worthy upgrade from 64 to 128.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best 3D Platformer on PC, September 15, 2000
If you're looking for a 3D PC Platformer then look no further. This is THE game you are looking for. Its better than Croc 2 and has much better camera positioning. It has a less kiddies feel to it than Croc 2 also.
The graphics are gorgeous and you get to do things like water ski. Still not as gooas Mario 64 but then this is PC after all and Platformers are no longer 10 a penny.
One tip thought for Voodoo3 users is that this game is FAST - TOO FAST! so go to the website and get the patch to slow it down a bit!!
Throughly enjoyable - I wish there were more games like this on the PC!! It gets 5 stars aa I cant think of a better game of its genre on this platform.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dissopointing but Multiplayer mode saves it., September 13, 2000
In a nut shell this game has the gameplay of the ZX81 and Spectrum Olympic games with Y2K 3d graphics.
Every event is similar and in one player mode you will probaby get fed up VERY soon.
Instead of trying something different, its the old button hitting techniques for EVERY event. Sometimes you use a third button to jump a hurdle or throw a hammer but dont expect major advances in this genre.
The graphics are lovery as is the commentry but how much fun can you have hitting 2 buttons?? The training modes is utter dire but strangely this game is saved by getting your mates round and playing against eachother. One of the miracles in gaming? You wouldn't think it from playing it for the first few times single player, but this is quite a good laugh with friends. You will get bored of the single player mode though
Having said that, I haven't bashed my keyboard around in years!! took me right back to the old days!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellant Puzzle game for PC!! Addiction Personified!, September 13, 2000
This game doesn't do too much to the Original Lemmings so maybe 'Revolution' was not an appropiate name for it. It does look and feel fantastic to play on the turning wheel mechanism with a very easy earling curve and interface.
But beware - It DOES get tough and you will do well to complete all 200 levels (yes 200!)
Reviews of this game were not to hot but this is one of the most addicitve games I've played in ages. Even my girlfriend (who is not a big games fan) is hooked and wont stop till the level is completed!!
Theres not much to this game but the levels are well designed and its great for all Lemmings fans.
The game hasn't evolved too much with 3d advances, new ideas and originlity. Many people may decide that this is just a cash in but I got mine for £19.99 so it wasn;t at full price.
Its definitely more of the same with great graphics and gameplay.
Pure addiction! Goodbye social life!

5.0 out of 5 stars Everything it had promised and more, September 13, 2000
This review is from: Deus Ex - PC (Video Game)
Quite simply if you adored Half Life, Thief and System Shock 2 then you will love this as it is a mix of all 3. Go and buy one of the greatest games ever written NOW!
Every First Person Shooter Fan should be with this game and it does more for its genre with nice touches like being able to complete levels in different ways and having targeting on your gun. I like these new ideas and its good to see. The game feels fresh and has lasting appeal.
It is tough going but has similar traits to the aforemetioned games.
SS2 - It has a similar character building theme taking a Hacker, Stealth or Heavy Approach. You look at items using the same interface method and inventory is similar.
Half Life - You get to shoot a lot of excellant AI computer characters, maybe the best AI yet?? The story and plot is also deep and riviting. Nice to have both the shooting and stategy/stealth element to a game.
Thief - Obviously theres the stealth mode and you can carry bodies so enemies wont see them. Silent killing with crossbow.
This game takes 3 of the best FPS games of its genre and mixes them together with its own original ideas. Finally there may be a game to beat all 3 and in my opinion this is the bench mark in FPS Adventure games.
What are you waiting for - Go Buy Deus ex! (pronounced Due Sex)

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality throughout, June 22, 2000
This review is from: Playing My Game (Audio CD)
Artists like Lene Marlin come along every now and again and take my breath away. IF you like Leah Androne, Amanda Mashall or Natalie Imbruglia then you are sure to like Lene Marlin also.
A fantastic voice with a great band produces an album with quality songs throughout. Upbeat songs, mellow songs, this album has it all.
Sitting Down here is the first single and radio hit but there are other great songs like So I See, Playing My Game and Where I'm Headed. There isn't a bad song in sight.
In an ages where female artists like Brittany and Chrisinta seem to be getting all the credit, I wonder in 5-10 years when they are acting and having their wedding photos on the front page of the paper whether Lene Marlin will still be producing stuff of this quality. The fact that she will still be singing and doing what comes naturally says a lot on its own. She really is in a different league to the wannabe music film stars of this world.
An excellent artist and a brilliant debut

5.0 out of 5 stars More than just 3 chords!, June 22, 2000
This review is from: Enema Of The State (Audio CD)
Enema of the state is a highly catchy 90's punk album, which is much more radio friendly than early Blink182. Some may say they have sold out but they have reach a whole new audience with this record. I also feel their music has matured. Sure this album doesn't sound as raw as previous creations but there are still some classics. Mutt, Dumpweed and Whats My age again are my favourite songs but All the small things and Aliens exist are not too far behind.
Die hard punk fans my turn a head to this album but it still doesn't detract to a band producing something similar to Green day and Off Spring in the past. My favourite Blink 182 song is still Dammit but come on give the guys a break. They have produced an album with kick and punch with more than just 3 chord wonders. There is progression and maturity also.
Enema has a sound which will be heard on MTV and radio A LOT but who cares? Does that make it a bad punk ablum? Hell, All the small things reached number 2 in the British charts - before that they were unheard of - wider audience means more music fans being influenced - with fans of many genres.
This album doesn't wear off in a hurry and the catchy songs and riffs are a joy to hear.
Go Blink 182!
