5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding, Hilarious, Heartening. A Must Read!, October 8, 2000
This is a fabulous collection; a must read! Her insights and perspectives on all six topics entertain you, educate you, challenge you, and empower you! I'd grown up hearing bits and pieces about this "feminist," never understanding (or pursuing) a clearer picture of who she is, what she offers. She is an incredible woman whom I've come to admire, respect and feel tremendous gratitude towards. I've enjoyed all of her books, and especially her audio books, read in her own voice. This book should also be a high school/college reader for young women AND young men! Very enlightening and thought-provoking.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST SEE - FOR EVERYONE!, August 27, 2000
This outstanding video is centered on a modern day fight for equality as it engagingly weaves the reality of our history into today. This inter-twining allows the viewer to grasp how history impacts the lives of everyone, hundreds of years later. It's excellent in its story telling and point-making. I, too, believe this should be required viewing in all Jr. High, High School and College level cirriculum. It's invaluable because of how it invites the viewer to challenge stereotypes and question the false history they're being taught in some many books. THANK YOU!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read!, August 27, 2000
This review is from: The Fountain of Age (Paperback)
I'm only forty and was drawn to this book because of what Betty Friedan has created for women in this century. I was delightfully surprised to find a book about "aging" was engaging for me. Her wonderful insights and perspectives have forever changed my outlook on getting older, and the examples and studies she cites have challenged not only my stereotypes, but allows me to challenge those of friends, families and doctors! This is a must read, REGARDLESS of your age! Perhaps even, the younger you are (to an extent!), the more profound these realities will be. I really enjoyed the audio book, which she reads herself, and plan to purchase the hard copy to have on hand to read again.
