Paul Guyot was born in a small desert town to a blue collar father and Ten High drinking mother. He passed his time in those early years converting the side yard of his boyhood home into the great football stadiums and golf courses of the world. If you drove by the corner of Palm Lane and 81st in the 70's there's a chance you saw Paul diving for a pass in the end zone of Lambeau Field, or chipping to the 12th green at Augusta National.
While that sort of extracurricular imagination did not serve him well in school - Paul spent 62.7% of his elementary school hours in the principal's office - it did help form the beginnings of a writer. High School came next and Paul was on track to turn things around and become one of those honor students and lettermen, and thus get into a top Ivy League school and have a glorious career in international banking or cardiovascular surgery.
Then Paul discovered girls.
Cut to five years after his stint at state college... Paul is working the graveyard shift at Denny's on the corner of Sunset and Gower. During those late-night discussions of life with hookers, pimps and the homeless, Paul remembered what he used to love to do. But finding no side yards anywhere, he began writing again.
Eventually, Paul turned in his brown polyester vest for a Toshiba TX1200 80286 laptop and the rest is history. He became an award-winning television writer who has penned episodes of FELICITY, JUDGING AMY, and that one really unforgettable show on UPN. What was it again? It was on right after HOMEBOYS FROM OUTER SPACE....
Currently, Paul serves as a Supervising Producer on the TNT series LEVERAGE. His first novel will be released in 2012. While he no longer plays football by throwing himself on the ground, he still plays golf - on actual courses - and he has become addicted to the sport of cycling. Paul carries a lifelong passion for FC Barcelona and is a frustrated but loyal supporter of Arsenal.
Paul is an avid supporter of and fundraiser for LIVESTRONG. Donate here: http://www.livestrong.org/Donate
