"good for the price" - By NHgal (Aurora, CO United States)
I had to buy a phone in a hurry and picked this up at Walmart. It is hooked up to a digital connection. It is cute, lightweight, fits easily on my desk, and I have had no trouble with it at all. What I find I need is another phone with it as I am a senior and need a bedside phone as well. The voice quality is average to better than average. and after reading the manual a few times, it is easy to use. It is not the biggest/best out there, but the for the price I paid, I got a bargain.
"Finally a phone with good sound quality!" - By KarenLynne (Torrance, CA)
Things I'm ecstatic about: phone does not interfere with wifi, sound is crisp and clear, speaker phone works on every handset, programming time is easy, range seems good, though I haven't really tested it.
The only two things that are less than perfect are the fact that when there is no talking, there is absolutely no sound at all, which makes it feel like the call was disconnected and there's nobody there. I think I'll get used to this, but it's a little disconcerting at first. The other thing is there is no jack for a headset. This is mitigated by the speaker feature, but it would have been nice to have that option.
Overall, I love this phone. It's the best cordless phone I've ever bought. I read a lot of reviews before purchasing, and they didn't let me down!
I switched to a VOIP service and ditched my old landline, I needed a multiple handset cordless to accomplish the task. Amazon offered a very affordable 3 handset package, manufactured by AT&T. The EL52300 model "filled the bill". Besides crystal clear clarity and reliabliity it offers a lot of great features (suggest downloading user manual as it only has a "quick start manual" packaged).
"Nice phone and answering machine" - By D (United States)
The phone and answering machine are compact, they look nice and are functional. The handset is very slim and has the normal functions for a phone such as phonebook, redial, etc. I feel the cons are- the battery is NOT user replaceable no expansion set for this, it is just a single phone No battery backup for the answering machine The slimness of the phone makes it harder for me to hold
The pros are that the phone is slim and pretty It is small, doesn't take up much space The volume and sound are good
"Great idea, mediocre realization, gets better with use" - By J. G. Hancock (PNS, FL, USA)
Edited May 30, 2013. Pushing up to 4 stars, simply because it's a great product once you get the hang of it, but there are still issues you may encounter that aren't intuitively obvious without having the manual at hand and/or playing with it for a few days. Also, the audible caller ID feature is proving to be both annoying and fun, and it may help in your decision.
OLD: I'd give 3 or higher stars if I'd never used a Panasonic phone product. I'd give it 2 stars if this product was something I had no experience with. It's very good overall, but it sucks in the details. EDIT: I'd now call it 4 stars after some experience with it, but still, the instructions and all the possible programming problems you may encounter are concerns. Some reviewers and commenters have cast aspersions upon ... full review
I have purchased THREE sets and they are placed in three different locations in the country, California, Colorado and Maryland and no one has reported any problems WHAT-SO-EVER with this product. Because I am a computer engineer and I work on computers a lot, I have to use the speaker system and I have not experienced any problem. The blue tooth links instantly to my wife's phone when she comes in the door. I have the VTech DS6522-32 model, but it is the same technology with an additional handset. The system has many excellent features and not only did I recommend it, I purchased two for my sons, one of which is in the California Bay area when phone drop zones are common. I did notice that they do not work well when there is a water pipe in the wall behind its location. ... full review
"No problems/registered immediately/works perfectly" - By Smilin Sam (Randallstown, MD USA)
I needed a replacement handset for one that had somehow lost its speaker capabilities (It wouldn't work with the intercom or the speakerphone, and the phone wouldn't ring. There was some loose wire or connection somewhere because if I banged it against my hand I could temporarily hear sound, then it would cut out again.). Since I'd originally gotten the 2 handset version of this cordless VTech model (1 base with answering machine and 2 handsets), this was the most inexpensive way to rectify the problem. Also, it's worth pointing out that this accessory handset with a new battery is cheaper than an OEM battery by itself.
I had no problem whatsoever registering this handset with the base. The only issue I ran into was that since I still had the original non-ringing handset already registered as the number 2 handset, this handset automatically registered as the number 3 ... full review
I bought this phone for my elderly foster mother-in-law. She's in her 80's and has trouble seeing. I initially bought it because she can see light colored things better than dark colored things and she expressed that she wanted a white phone so she could find it. When my husband installed it I got a phone call from her that she was delighted with the large illuminated buttons and large print on the Caller ID screen. I highly recommend this product particularly for the elderly who have vision problems.
"Integrating cellphone, Google voice and skype + bluetooth speaker" - By Yu Guo (Los Angeles, CA, US)
Let me first talk about my phone setup.
1. I use google voice + Obihai 110 (highly recommend) as a free land-line, google voice will forward calls to both my cellphone and panasonic 7644M.
2. I have one cellphone paired directly with 7644M with link-to-cell.
3. Finally, I use link-to-cell to pair my computer with 7644M, so as to make computer calls with skype, etc.
Below are the results for this setup, I numbered them corresponding to the above 3 different ways of using the phone.
1. There is no problem using GV this way, I read from one previous review that if GV forwards calls to both a landline and a mobile-phone, there will be a glitch that the other side cannot hear your voice. But in my case, GV forwards calls to google chat (which is converted by ohihai 110 to voip signal), ... full review
