"My Wii U is one of my favorite..." - By C. Bennett (Atlanta GA)
I love this so much. I honestly wouldn't buy it from Amazon, they have it for a higher price than Nintendo is selling it, through other vendors. If I were going to buy it again, I'd buy it from GameStop, like I did the first time.
Pros: 1) Nintendo exclusives are VERY well made, especially the ones that will be coming in the future. 2) This is the deluxe edition, meaning you get a larger hard drive than the regular one, stands for your Wii U and GamePad, and you get it in black! 3) You get both, New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi Bros. U with this, which is about an $80-$90 value, which is free with this bundle. 4) The GamePad is a great way to see other things without having to switch to another screen on the actual TV, like a map or ... full review
"First impressions of the Deluxe WiiU -- Very enjoyable!" - By Joshua (Tennessee)
Having been a student for many years, the Wii U is the first console that I've ever pre-ordered. Now I've got a job that has something resembling a salary. Having gotten so many years of fun and excitement out of my first-gen Wii, I decided to roll the dice on the Wii U by pre-ordering the 32 GB black deluxe set. So far, I'm glad that I did. This is a review of the Deluxe set that I've ordered specifically, however you can compare the two sets and fill in the blanks concerning what you may be missing with the basic set
What is (and isn't) included: The black deluxe set comes with (almost) everything that you need to get started. It comes with the black console, power brick, sensor bar, HDMI cable (if you need component you'll have to pick it up separately), ... full review
This is the go-to party dance game at our house! Just Dance 2014 is fun fun fun! 47 pop songs by artists including: One Direction, Katy Perry, Nicky Minaj, Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, Village People, Bob Marley and more. The choreography is FANTASTIC! The On Stage choreography, for three or four people, is hidden behind an unlock barrier; the more you dance, the more versions of songs you unlock. The On Stage versions are so much fun – they cast one dancer as the star and the others as back-up dancers! There are videos of real dancers, inviting you to mirror their moves. It feels like you’re actually looking in a mirror while dancing. Costumes are awesome! There are bouncing wigs, dresses, Slimer from Ghostbusters, a giant panda suit, a hippo, gold chains, bodysuits, waistcoats with skinny ties and more. This is all about having a good time no skills ... full review
Last night I was finally able to pull myself away from [[ASIN:B002I0K3M0 Nintendo Land]] long enough to start playing the "New Super Mario Bros. U." So far I'm glad that I did. Mario and company are back in beautiful HD, and so far they are an absolute blast to play with.
New Super Mario Bros. U is a treat beyond the updated graphics because they stick to tried and true formulas that have made 2D versions Mario so much fun over the years. No, you won't get to enjoy a fully 3D environment like you did with [[ASIN:B00000F1GM Super Mario 64]]. You do get an enjoyable side-scrolling experience much like the previous generations of Super Mario for Wii, DS, and the early console systems. Also much like recent versions of Mario you are presented with a map of the world and you get to ... full review
I haven't gotten too far into this game yet but so far I have been very impressed. The controls are very intuitive and easy to use. Since it is a multi-system game it doesn't utilize the Wii U gamepad as other games but good nonetheless.
"A Great Workout. I'm down 35 pounds now!" - By Michelle Stevens (El Dorado Hills, CA)
I'm a lover of the Just Dance series. I had 1,2,3,and 4 for the regular Wii but wanted this one for the Wii U to see all the new features. Since I've been playing Just Dance games I've lost 35 pounds. I like Just Dance 4 for the Wii U because it's been turned into a party game. You can sing along and the lyrics are posted on the Gamepad or you can draw funny images on screen as well. Sometimes this distracts the dancer but it's funny when people notice what you're drawing sometimes. I really like the workout mode. The in between workouts between the songs remind me of Tae Bo. I like the dancing on this one a lot better than the other ones because it seems to be more advanced. I like having a more advanced dance because I get a better workout. Another feature this ... full review
"Great next version with some nice visual enhancements" - By John S. Dean (Sturtevant, WI United States)
My son, who just turned 10 this month, LOVES Skylanders. We got the first one, Spyro's Adventure, only a month or so before Giants was released, so we got it cheap, and played the heck out of it. Bought a lot of figures, really had fun playing two player together in it. When Giants came out, we got more figures, all the giants, and had even more fun. He likes both versions, so we didn't suddenly not use the first game after Giants was released.
I got the wireless version for the iPads, and another wireless version for his 3DS, and he enjoys all of them.
We just picked up this new version today on the release day, and spent the last few hours playing, and so far I can't come up with a single complaint about it, other than the graphics for swapping ... full review
"On world 6 already and got it just 12 hours ago.. This game is... AMAZING!!!!" - By Daniel Roskeland
So far, I've been playing this game for 9 hours straight and I'm loving every minute of it.
I'm the kind of person to take my time with video games. I like to find little secrets and hidden passages. So far I've gotten every green star (and stamp) in every level up until 6-2. I need to take a rest though. My eyes are killing me..
Anyway, more about the game!
It is absolutely a MUST if you own a wii u. The level designs are completely original and replay worthy. They're set up in a way that doesn't make it insanely difficult getting to the top of every flag pole, and getting every green star. I'm not happy, or upset about this (as some gamers are pretty peeved off saying it's "WAY too easy".. Trust me, this isn't true. It's got some hair ripping levels just ... full review
"Glad I got the Wii U version." - By Adam L. Owen (Grandville, MI USA)
Wii U version seems to look better than my friend's 360 version, and I've never had any problems with slowdown or anything. As for the gamepad features: I wish you could set waypoints on the gamepad map but the functionality it has is good enough. It's especially nice being able to access treasure maps so easily.
The game itself is very fun, mostly AC standard gameplay... but the naval combat achieves something almost magical in its cinematic quality drama. Nothing like unleashing a broadside in a storm while a wind funnel edges ever closer.
