"Fantastic Little Computer!" - By Vanessa (North Idaho)
I purchased one of these laptops from Link-Tronics Memory through Amazon, to replace a laptop my grandmother had that she lost in a wildfire in Texas. She loved it! But more importantly, she took it to her computer guy and he said it was an excellent computer - better than any refurbished computer he sold.
Then I purchased one for my sister who has wanted a laptop for a while.
Finally I purchased one for my teenage son for Christmas.
What I was thrilled about these little laptops is that they came loaded and tweaked almost exactly how I would done. In all honesty, I was prepared with my OS disc and drivers and programs to reformat, but there was no need to do so.
The performance of these laptops has far superseded an XPS gaming laptop that was given to me a couple years ... full review
To read one of the other reviews one would think the reviewer is talking about a completely different machine. My family has two of these and we have experienced none of the problems that the other reviewer has mentioned. XP is a very stable platform and we'll see if Windows Seven will live up to the hype. As far as poor sound I wonder compared to what? I've had several different laptops and netbooks and they sound tinny compared to the D620. Besides, I hook the machine up to external powered speakers to listen to my music library. Let's face it. If Dell built poor quality equipment they wouldn't be in business as long as they have been. This is one great piece of equipment.[[ASIN:B001U5617K DELL LATITUDE D620 14.1" WXGA]]
"Absolutely fantastic product, far exceeded my expectations" - By Voltron00x (Audubon, PA)
I've been reading about Chromebooks all year; the concept was pretty intriguing, despite the fact that I have a bunch of other/similar devices: an entry-level Sony Vaio from 2011, an X51 Alienware desktop PC for gaming, a 2011 Kindle Fire, and a Moto X smartphone. So why add a Chromebook?
I wanted a multi-use device that could...
Stream music from my Amazon Cloud Stream instant video from Amazon (great selection of kids stuff) and Netflix Run full versions of websites Have a full keyboard, for writing emails or various other things
The Chromebook does all this stuff for basically the same price as a tablet, but it is much closer to a full function PC than a tablet is. I like it as a video device far more than a tablet. I like it for using the web far more than a tablet ... full review

"Works Great" - By Tom Moravee (Van Nuys, Ca United States)
I bought this with some hesitation after reading one negative review...but I'm glad I got it because it works great but keep in mind you have to have the shiney side facing the monitor for it to work properly
I'm based in the UK and bought my unit there. However, physically this model is nearly identical to ours (to my knowledge only the keyboard layout and socket you need for charging it differs) and I've been using Chrome OS and previous Chrome hardware for a while, so I thought I'd give my take on this device.
I've owned the Cr-48 for a while, which was a kind of test unit Google sent out to people to beta test the operating system. That came out a long time ago and none of the commercial units have felt good enough to me to justify buying, up until now. They were always a little too expensive, despite the obvious advantages.
This will be a long review. For those wanting a short summary, I'll include one at the end.
For those unclear, Chrome OS (which the Chromebook ... full review
Arrived a lot earlier than stated, very happy because purchased for a gift and it arrived in time. Great laptop bag for the money half the cost of my intuit bag and its only a 15" and not the 17". Same basic features lots of extra pouches and storage pockets, at this price I would recommend to everyone who is looking for one.
"Stylish looks and great performance! Can we call this 'Dark Knight Rises'?" - By Jayhan (CA)
Update (10/1/12): I downgraded the firmware back to 164. Since I upgraded the firmware to 220, I have already rebooted the router about 4~5x, the internet connection suddenly stops. I don't know if it's just me, but I feel that the router is a bit warmer when I touch it using firmware 220. I don't have any temperature measuring device so I can't confirm that it's really warmer (I did not adjust the transmit power setting, fyi).
Update (9/12/12): I updated the firmware to version 188.8.131.52.220, and the 2 previous problems I stated is still existing.. I don't mind it that much but I still hope Asus fixes it soon. Workaround for 1.) I connect my PC to 2.4Ghz. 2.) I use Splashtop from my iPhone to connect to my home PC from office.
AiCloud looks promising, supposedly you could view/play your media files from your iphone/ipad and ... full review
I bought this for my girlfriend for Christmas, but not through Amazon. I only paid $290 for it, and luckily it had Windows 7 instead of 8. Also it came with 3 GB of RAM instead of 4; it's still fast enough for HER, but not for me. The boot time is right at a minute, which is OK. It takes our Getacs with i7 processors 55 seconds, by way of comparison. I am upgrading it to 8 gigs soon, so I will let you know how quickly it boots then...if I remember, that is.
This is a solidly built laptop with a glossy black finish. It looks good, the screen is huge, and it blessedly has the 10-key number pad, which my $1,200 work laptop lacks for some reason...No backlit keys, but really, who needs them? The speakers are cookie-cutter laptop, meaning they suck. But for $10 one ... full review
"Died during first 5 minutes of usage - Anker replaced at no charge" - By Biomortis
Edit 10/22/13 - After posting the review below and setting up my return to Amazon, Anker contacted me and offered to send me one to give a second chance. It arrived today and so far, it is working properly. They also asked me for the original serial number so that they could track it for quality control. This is superb customer service. I feel much more confident about buying their products in the future.
Esthetically, this is an attractive product and packaging was efficient. Upon plugging it in, I attached a Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX and an Anker Astro 3 external battery to both charge. Both devices started charging and then a few minutes later I noticed that the charging statuses had turned off.
It is completely dead. I confirmed that the power outlet was functional and my ... full review
I received my charger in record time! I purchased two other similar chargers at the same time for my daughters because they insisted on one of the fashion colors. They claim to have the same strength as my Anker, but don't offer nearly the charging capacity! Theirs will only charge their phones to about 75% while my Anker charges to 100% and still has enough juice to bring it up to about 40% again. I will say that it charges faster if you don't let your phone get below 10%. The device comes with a convenient carry pouch and a multi cord to work with almost any phone so you don't have to carry an additional cord. It does not have the iPhone 5 attachment. The charger is about the size of a fat highlighter marker so it fits conveniently in your pocket or purse. This charger has saved me ... full review
