At Amazon.com, we not only have a large collection of laptops, but also a comprehensive set of reviews from our customers. Below we've selected a subset of laptops and the corresponding reviews to help you do better research, and choose the product that best suits your needs.
To read one of the other reviews one would think the reviewer is talking about a completely different machine. My family has two of these and we have experienced none of the problems that the other reviewer has mentioned. XP is a very stable platform and we'll see if Windows Seven will live up to the hype. As far as poor sound I wonder compared to what? I've had several different laptops and netbooks and they sound tinny compared to the D620. Besides, I hook the machine up to external powered speakers to listen to my music library. Let's face it. If Dell built poor quality equipment they wouldn't be in business as long as they have been. This is one great piece of equipment.[[ASIN:B001U5617K DELL LATITUDE D620 14.1" WXGA]]

"Fantastic Little Computer!" - By Vanessa (North Idaho)
I purchased one of these laptops from Link-Tronics Memory through Amazon, to replace a laptop my grandmother had that she lost in a wildfire in Texas. She loved it! But more importantly, she took it to her computer guy and he said it was an excellent computer - better than any refurbished computer he sold.
Then I purchased one for my sister who has wanted a laptop for a while.
Finally I purchased one for my teenage son for Christmas.
What I was thrilled about these little laptops is that they came loaded and tweaked almost exactly how I would done. In all honesty, I was prepared with my OS disc and drivers and programs to reformat, but there was no need to do so.
The performance of these laptops has far superseded an XPS gaming laptop that was given to me a couple years ... full review

"Works Great" - By Tom Moravee (Van Nuys, Ca United States)
I bought this with some hesitation after reading one negative review...but I'm glad I got it because it works great but keep in mind you have to have the shiney side facing the monitor for it to work properly
"Just purchased this computer today for $249.99 from Best Buy." - By Patrick F.
Excellent computer!!. This is my second unit. I purchased one (C55A5300) for my wife on Cyber Monday. This unit (C55A5105) which I purchased today from Best Buy is essentially the same specs. It's a great low-mid range computer that handles the basics without any issues. My daughter streams Netflix and Youtube constantly on this machine. It doesn't come with any Microsoft software preloaded, so don't expect any. I downloaded OpenOffice which is a completely free alternative to Microsoft Office. I waited just for Best Buy to have another under $250 computer, and viola here it is!.... but they sell out fast!
I should also mention that these Toshiba units are exclusively built for and sold through Best Buy. I find it hilarious when I see the 3rd party sellers selling these Best Buy units for huge mark ups. Get it from Best Buy!...$249.99 all day long.
As of this writing, the price direct from Dell is much lower than at Amazon, especially if you opt for Dell's financing. A fully functional windows 8.1 15.6" laptop costing in the low $200s is mind blowing. Part of the $ savings derives from the lack of an optical drive or touch screen.
There isn't much to say. I've had it for about 2 weeks, so I can't judge durability. The laptop is made from cheap plastic, but the screen is nice, the keyboard feels sturdy and comfortable, you have a full numeric keypad. The only negative is the trackpad, which is usable but not good. We prefer to use a mouse instead.
We only use it for basics, like web browsing, Office, printing, sending email. It's certainly fast enough for all that. It connects to the wifi network quickly, and web browsing is fine.
I'm based in the UK and bought my unit there. However, physically this model is nearly identical to ours (to my knowledge only the keyboard layout and socket you need for charging it differs) and I've been using Chrome OS and previous Chrome hardware for a while, so I thought I'd give my take on this device.
I've owned the Cr-48 for a while, which was a kind of test unit Google sent out to people to beta test the operating system. That came out a long time ago and none of the commercial units have felt good enough to me to justify buying, up until now. They were always a little too expensive, despite the obvious advantages.
This will be a long review. For those wanting a short summary, I'll include one at the end.
For those unclear, Chrome OS (which the Chromebook ... full review
"if you didnt buy it here why would you write a rer" - By Kett
People complaining about how it doesn't have a good battery is a plain out lie, or didnt even buy this, dont go and say " oo I bought this from best buy and they totally ripped me off" . Its very annoying and you have no say here.. So this laptop is very Awesome! Its fast. Cheap. And doesn't have that useless cd drive I never use. I love the overall look and feel of it, others say it feels cheap I dont think they know what cheap plastic feels like to say that.
It has 8.1 which gives you the ability to have the start menu again kinda. You'll love it for the price of $250, if you're looking for a $500 computer that has superior power and graphics and everything.. Go buy A $500 Computer! This is a lite pc for lite to medium ... full review
Nice product. Very good price for a computer like this. Shows a little wear and tear, but I expected that. The cleaned it up expertly. Works great. And if you need a decent computer that's durable, nothing beats these Dell laptops. Used them every day in the mid-East while deployed, and they stand up well. I got mine for my shop. I'm not sorry at all for buying it.
I was skeptical about purchasing a refurbished D610. It has worked like a charm the speed and capacity are suitable for my needs. It's a great home computer, I don't have to do any heavy computing with it but it seems quite capable to take on any job. The only thing that could be better is the brightness of the screen. I need to do some research to see if I can make adjustment in the screen brightness. I purchased the updated anti-virus and malware software and updated my router, it accepted all I could throw at it and works just fine. For $233.00 this has been a great bargain!!!
I purchased the refurbished laptop for my son's 11th birthday & it was a big hit. The laptop was actually better then described. There weren't any noticiable blemishes, such as tiny scratches, worn keys, etc. And for $177 w/ free shipping, you just can't beat the price, especially when it's just like new. I know the day is coming with my laptop, which brand new, I paid over $600 for, and I definitely will go this route & save money. This laptop was completly ready to go out of the box, the wifi was all set up & Microsoft was ready to go. Tampa Laptops did a great job w/ the refurb & offers them at an unbeatable price. I am very satisfied with my purchase & will purchase from Tampa Laptops again. Great seller!! Spread the word that Tampa Laptops is a wonderful outlet to purchase refurbished laptops & ... full review
