This book has velocity. It was very fast-paced and I couldn't put it down. I got swept up in the details of the crime and enjoyed the humorous edge to the narrative. I liked the descriptions of the interior life of the characters and their struggles with marital fidelity, political ambition, and addictions. The story transported me to the town of Marshfield and the hard lives of the inhabitants. The details of the crime held my attention all the way through. It was a great read!
"a blessing for caretakers of young, energetic children" - By audrey (white mtns)
I was home with a sick toddler and a cranky youngster the day this book arrived, and it saved me. The first page I flipped to had an idea for a simple game that I put together in two minutes and had us all laughing for twenty. Bless you, Trish Kuffner! This book is nicely organized. A chapter of introduction helps you plan, supply and mentally prepare for those long days when you are running out of ideas. The author writes with humor and affection. Subsequent chapters are organized into Rainy Day Play, Kids in the Kitchen, Water Play, Outdoor Adventures, Out and About, Nursery Rhymes and Finger Plays, Early Learning Fun, Music and Movement, Arts and Crafts, and Holidays. Most activities are simple to set up, generally using about three or four household items. Appendices list recipes for basic paints, doughs, glues and ... full review
"John Carpenter's Masterpiece" - By Lisa Krause (Irvine, CA USA)
Long after its debut, THE THING is finally getting the respect it deserves. I'm glad John Carpenter is young enough to be around to see it. This film was unfairly shunned when it came out because E.T. came out at the same time. Nobody wanted to see E.T. killing people, hence no one went to see THE THING. Along with THE HIDDEN, this is one of the greatest horror/action movies to come out of the 80s. It should be on any serious horror fan's top ten list (it's number two on mine) and it is perhaps Carpenter's greatest film to date. Yes, I think it is even better than HALLOWEEN. This movie sticks closer to the original story ("Who Goes There") that both this and the older movie THE THING FROM OUTER SPACE were based on. The latter was more of a ... full review
"Original vs. Bootleg Clarification" - By bostonears (Lincoln, MA United States)
The same reviews and comments appear on Amazon's listings for different versions of Coltrane's My Favorite Things, so there's some confusion with respect to the real album and a bootleg recording with the same name but of a different recording session. Click the links in here to see what's what.
The "original" version of this album has on its cover a blue background and a waist-length picture of Coltrane holding a soprano sax. [[ASIN:B000002I53 My Favorite Things, original version link.]] It contains four songs: 1. My Favorite Things 2. Everytime We Say Goodbye 3. Summertime 4. But Not For Me This is the version to which my five star rating applies.
And there is a "deluxe" edition of the original album, with a gray cover and a small insert picture of the original album art. [[ASIN:B00000348A My Favorite Things [Deluxe Edition].]] Plus there are import versions of the ... full review

"Back to Classic Harlot!" - By D. Vance (Central USA)
If you enjoyed the original Yarn Harlot book, you will love this one! Stephanie has returned to the style that made her famous. The essays are funny, truthful, and underneath, deep and thoughtful. I was a little surprised at the small size of the book;(classic gift book sized) but it was a decent evening's read, in between knitting rows, of course! I would recommend it to anyone who loves to knit, read, and laugh!
Many Little Things is not your typical hidden object game. Instead of trying to find the objects that have been hidden in a picture, the items form the picture. In this one, the items form the shape of animals. There are 3 different game modes to play: In picture mode they show you the item to find. In shadow mode they show the silhouette of the item. In word mode it lists the item to find. They have more Many Little Things besides this one. They have this one, Many Little Things-Pets. Many Little Things-Toys. Many Little Things-Forever. I highly recommend this game. I absolutely love this game! It is great for all ages! Well worth the money and then some! I purchased the others as well.
