I received my charger in record time! I purchased two other similar chargers at the same time for my daughters because they insisted on one of the fashion colors. They claim to have the same strength as my Anker, but don't offer nearly the charging capacity! Theirs will only charge their phones to about 75% while my Anker charges to 100% and still has enough juice to bring it up to about 40% again. I will say that it charges faster if you don't let your phone get below 10%. The device comes with a convenient carry pouch and a multi cord to work with almost any phone so you don't have to carry an additional cord. It does not have the iPhone 5 attachment. The charger is about the size of a fat highlighter marker so it fits conveniently in your pocket or purse. This charger has saved me ... full review
The portable battery felt heavy duty but wish it had a rubber casing, it felt a little slippery in my hand. I liked how it comes with a micro usb cable built into the case to charge my galaxy. So far I haven't had any issues and I mainly use it for business trips fighting for an outlet at the airport. One thing I would have liked is for the unit to come with a wall charger, it only came with a cable to charge on the computer(USB) or you have to use your own wall charger for the outlet.
I never used it to charge my phone from 35% yet. I have been using it at work around lunch time when the battery level drops to 84%. I am using this portable charger with my Samsung Epic 4G Touch (Samsung Galaxy S II). I call it "The Mighty Mouse Charger" because it is small, very portable but it is powerful at 5600mAH. The price is nice. I showed it to people they thought it cost more than the $49 I paid for it.
This portable charger charges at the same rate as the AC charger that comes with the phone. I can take this charger everywhere I go, it can be placed in a pants pocket with a lot of room to spare. The Samsung Epic 4G Touch has a battery life of 12 to 13 for medium use. I am a heavy user, I use the internet, ... full review
While it charges my iPhone more than three times as others have noted, I was curious to see what it would do with my iPad 3 which has more than 8x the battery capacity (11,560 mAh) as the iPhone. No charger can achieve 100% and 60% to 80% is typical. On a full charge, it took my iPad 3 from 47% to 81% before shutting off. This equates to 68% of the advertised 4,600 mAh which is not bad. I'm happy with all other aspects of performance and consider it a high quality product that I would recommend.
"Capacious, Elegant and Portable External Battery" - By Dr. Bojan Tunguz (Indiana, USA)
The bottom line on the GreatShield battery is this: it works. In the past I've tried several different reserve power supplies for my gadgets, and I have had mixed results. However, there is no ambiguity about this battery: it's large, effective, versatile and well designed. It's one of the largest external battery that I've come across in terms of capacity (with impressive 10,400 mAh of charge), and yet it's much smaller in size than some of its larger near-competitors.
In order to test this battery charger I decided to completely drain my small electronic devices so that I get as clean of an idea of this battery's efficiency as I can. (As an aside, when you really want to discharge them, the consumer electronics has become really robust in recent year. It took me much longer than I thought it would. I had to blast music from my iPhone ... full review
The Anker 2nd Gen Astro 6000mAh External Battery is everything I was looking for in an external battery pack. It's small, comes with a one foot micro-USB cord, and a travel bag that holds everything neatly. It also has a nice heft and a smooth rubberized finish that makes it a beauty to hold in your hand.
This pack also holds a large charge. I was able to fully charge my Nexus S phone and top off (30%) my Nexus 7 tablet while only using just over a quarter of the battery pack.
"Compact, Efficient, Versatile. Great for those long trips." - By John Smith-Palliser (Dallas, TX)
Since I tend to use my devices a lot, I've had my share of experience with external battery packs of a variety of brands. This time I am reviewing the Anker 15,000 mAh external battery, which includes an adaptable charging cable, a microUSB adapter, a miniUSB adapter, an Apple 30 pin adapter, a Samsung Galaxy Tab 30 pin adapter, and a carrying case. The cable is thick but flexible, and good construction. Keep in mind a wall adapter isn't included, but you can still charge the battery pack using any normal wall adapter, though I'd recommend a tablet wall adapter, since the battery pack is recommended to be charged with 1.5 A for optimum charging speed.
When I received the device, I noticed that it came pre-charged (to a bit over 75%), which is a plus, since it takes a bit of time to fully charge given the 15,000 ... full review
"Nifty little device that packs a punch in storage and amperage" - By Faiz23 (Dallas, TX)
This little sucker is sexy. I have couple other external batteries like the trent and this one hands down rocks. I am using it on the iphone 5 and it charges 1% every 1.11min. Great to top up your phone for 30 minutes when you are on the go. The supplied accessory connectors work perfect on my psp. I lost my psp charger and now I was able to use it while the astro3 was charging both my psp and iphone 5. This battery rocks and has up to 3 amps of power. It has an apple port 1.5amp for ipad and 1 amp for iphone along with an android port so you can charge both at the same time. The included soft mesh case is perfect and you can fit the iphone 5, battery pack and lightning cable all into the pouch. I have a dual protector on the ... full review
I purchased the Jackery Giant for a week long trade show in Las Vegas. I fully charged it before I left for the show. For the entire week, I was able to plug in my Droid for a recharge while I was working the show floor. It completely charged my phone at least 4 times and got two friends phones up to 65% from zero while we were there. I highly recommend the Giant. It's easy to use and very unobtrusive. It goes in my briefcase every time I leave the house, whether to drive or fly.
